Last year the 24 ultra released at 1300.00 for 256gb model. The Oneplus 13 released at 1000.00. Safe to say the 25 ultra will be 1400.00 at least. 400 is a significant savings.
The developers of oxygen OS 15 did a major overhaul on the platform and downsized it by a little over 30%. They paired away many unnecessary redundancies and needless features. To that end, the platform takes up less ROM and isn't as RAM intensive. It's always ran smoothly but, now it's faster than ever. FYI, the 13 is capable of 100W super vooc charging. However, oneplus only provides an 80 w super vooc charger in the box. Not that that's anything to complain about. Most manufacturers don't bother including anything. Fortunately, I own two 125W super vooc chargers so, I can take advantage of the faster charging speeds. I would have loved to hear your opinion on the new proprietary Crystal Shield ceramic glass that they use to construct the back panels for the black eclipse and the white Arctic Dawn. Literally, it's the first time they've moved away from Corning gorilla glass. Not to mention, the Ceramic Guard material that the screen is constructed from.
@@bloodyglitch1777you activate it the same way you do your cellular hotspot. If you're on Wi-Fi, it uses the Wi-Fi. If you are on data, it uses the data
I have been doing this for a long time on my iPhone. I do not need to touch settings. When I open my iPad or iMac, I get all the Wi-Fi options, and my phone is there if I want to connect to it. If it is the only Wi-Fi, it will connect automatically. Like you, I thought this was widespread!
I’m watching reviews of android phones with SD elite so that my partner can upgrade her s22u but just from that quick pan in the beginning of your video I can see that video recording isn’t this phone’s strength. Thank you! She’ll probably stick to Samsung and get the s25u.
Got the OP 12 16/512GB about 10 months ago and it is solid, OxygenOS 15 made it even better! Really happy unlike I was really frustrated with my previous OP 10 Pro. The 13 is not much of an upgrade, especially when it comes to camera modules, and if you willing to shell out USD900/+,, then go for 13, otherwise 12 is solid and will save you few USD100s. I shall wait for next iteration of OP and hope Elite 2 will bring strong features and performance compared to * Gen 3 and much better camera modules.
You don't have to upgrade, you will not miss much if you don't upgrade, yeah better performance, better camera etc. but the upgrades are not that major that you have to upgrade from op12
a bit confused about the puck wireless charger, i think it were a bad buy on drop day. its not some battery reserve you must plug it in to the red cable if i am correct. which just isnt what i expected when buying it. this puck specifically. love the 13
It's meant for gamers to charge/maintain charge while playing. Hold the phone in landscape while gaming with the wireless charger on the back and the cord hanging straight down from it.
It would have been great if you went over the new processor it came with and how it fares overall. Some comparisons would've been amazing as well. Also, I am undecided on pixel 9 pro xl or oneplus 13, which one would be a better choice?
Cameras look slightly underwhelming but thanks for taking lots of outdoor shots. I am curious how medium to low-light camera performance will be. I wish my Xiaomi 14 Ultra cameras didn't die, that phone is phenomenal & the Leica integration, including their color science, was done very tastefully. I'm still unsure if the Hassleblad team up on this OnePlus is mainly for branding.
98%a great phone if it had the periscope zoom from the OnePlus 12 and the wide angle from the OnePlus 9. This would be the perfect flagship. Fingerprint sensor a great screen. Maybe they need to make the OnePlus 13 pro that has the Periscope zoom with a non-reflective coating screen and then they can charge $1, 000 for it. But I will say that it's somewhere between 98 and 99 percent the perfect phone

Camera comparison with the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, please. ^_^
I agree 💯. When I really want to take photos I take a real camera. There's nothing better than having real zoom lenses and the ability to change lenses when I need to. For me a phone camera just for snapshots.
Does anybody use a Pixel Watch with a OnePlus phone? I am thinking about switching from a Pixel 8 to a OnePlus Open and am wondering what I will miss. So far, I've found that watch unlock and bedtime mode synchronization are features I might miss. Does camera control from the watch work with OnePlus phones? Regarding the phone itself, I will miss the dual eSIM feature, wireless charging, monthly Pixel updates, IP resistance, and camera quality. I'm still not sure if it's worth it 😅
Mike, help me choose a device this year, I'm an android guy, after 5 years I've decided to upgrade, rn I'm using a Samsung device, should I wait and go for S25 or go to S23, I don't want big screen device.. help me choose..
Galaxy s24+ CAN'T watch youtube and play fallout shelter at the same time but my old oneplus phones could can this one whatch TH-cam vidoes and play games at the same time ?
So called 5th collab with Hassleblad yet they still havent been able to fix the cooler blue/green tinge in each photo, its ridiculous that the color representstion is so inaccurate. Shame, looked like a clear winner if not for the failure of a camera
I assume that this is what OEM requests, as it is clear AI is a marginal concern for consumers, but many creators are still pumping out AI marketing. Apparently, the best AI phone is the Pixel, but after I tried out a few of the features, it has been months since I used them again.
Stop trying to turn everything into an iPhone if you get a hasselblad camera as compared with a Leica camera as compared with a Sony camera as compared with a cannon camera their pictures all look a little different. same thing with phones
As OnePlus user, I have to say that OnePlus never was and never will be the best android phone. There are some flagships with significantly better camera like oppo/Vivo. But OnePlus always has decent specs for it's cheaper price, and it is pretty comparable with mid-flagships like Samsung, apple, or pixel
OnePlus 9 Pro and 10 Pro both have 4K 120fps video recording. OnePlus abandoned that feature with the 11, 12, and 13. 😑👎 Technology is supposed to keep improving. NOT downgrading.
How often do we actually speak on a phone... hardly ever.. how many times do we take photos on a phone after we've gotten past our first few days or weeks of a new phone... hardly ever... who uses their phones the most... mostly bloggers and mothers... which of them use their phone for much more than text messages and shopping... hardly any... End result... we buy based on hype... not just a little hype a helleva lot of hype.. yet we still do it... WHY ? If everyone had the same phone more then 98% off us would never even notice..
Id love you to compare this to the S24 Ultra. Especially in zoom, video and moving subject in outdoors and indoor lightning (low-mid lightening)
OP13 is great but s24 or upcoming s25 zoom will almost certainly be better
Crazy title since it’s January lol but I get it
And not even close to be at this early stage 😅

Samsung tends to give good trade in values. I'm trading in my ZF4 for the S25U.
OnePlus is awesome I got the 12 in the fall. I'll get this one or the 14 next year, amazing products.
Thanks for posting this video *Mike!*
Yeah S24 ultra comparison would be great 👍

Is acting as a Wi-Fi repeater not a standard Android feature? I have been using that trick on Pixel for years and just figured everybody had it
how do you do it

I'd love to see a big camera comparison with all the main players, iPhone 16 Pro Max, Galaxy S25 Ultra, Pixel 9 Pro and this phone!
Great Review Mike! 🙌

Just got mine. I absolutely love it, switching from an S24 Ultra.
Please let us know what your camera experience is on the OP13 compared to the S24U, and if you miss features like Bixby Routines etc... Thanks!
@zeed5764 Can't say I miss anything from my S24U other than the anti glare display. Even the camera performs better to me.
Great video!!
A camera comparison please
It is an option in software just pull down the top of the screen and you can turn off both the microphones and the cameras
I love my OnePlus 12, just curious about upgrading it. How does the camera compares to the oneplus12?
You don't have to upgrade, you will not miss much if you don't upgrade, yeah better performance, better camera etc. but the upgrades are not that major that you have to upgrade from op12
Believe me the op12 and 13 same camera hardware and same shots results just the wide camera are better on op13
and the OnePlus 12 have better zoom

Please compare it to the iPhone, Pixel and the new Galaxy
One plus is always amazing, but they still haven't won me back after the oneplus 7 pro. That was just such a perfect phone.
Is charging brick in box?
In NA yes. In Europe no.
Great phone but wish it still had the Periscope zoom
Thanks, Mike!
It would have been great if you went over the new processor it came with and how it fares overall. Some comparisons would've been amazing as well.

Other reviews of this phone show much better camera results, so I'm not sure what's going on.

Camera comparison with the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, please. ^_^
Why are phones all about cameras today? Why not just get a great camera for great photos?
"pocketability"
Isn't it obvious...that's a big camera you'll have to carry around
I agree 💯. When I really want to take photos I take a real camera. There's nothing better than having real zoom lenses and the ability to change lenses when I need to. For me a phone camera just for snapshots.

Current have an s24 plus is this a upgrade over that?
are you going to do a video on the 13r?
How is the Android Auto?
Been using mine since November 😛
Please do a camera comparison for it with pixel 9 and iPhone 16.
I am unable to play 8k Videos -- (4320×7680) in TH-cam..
Do we get any Updates for that ?
Nobody is talking about the 100$ price increase, the price is so close to upcoming s25 plus, OnePlus is no longer the easy choice 😢
Its really worth it for extra $100 because its much better than before (oneplus 12) , also op 13 is much better than s25+ in my perspective & logic
This phone is totally killing the way over priced s25+ wtf. Are you talking about, bro?
It's only been 7 days so far.
The Chinese Version has been on the market for months now
A long 7 days
Had a s24u, now getting the OnePlus 13,cant wait. My first and last Samsung. It didnt impress me one bit. It had horrible camera lens jump on videos
Mike, help me choose a device this year, I'm an android guy, after 5 years I've decided to upgrade, rn I'm using a Samsung device, should I wait and go for S25 or go to S23, I don't want big screen device.. help me choose..
Always new one
Go with Pixel 9 pro probably best small android flagship
Get the pixel 9pro it's an amazing phone. It's so much better than the s23 or s24.
Hey mark do you know any good usb c headphones around $50 i like the convenience of plug and play
You don't need you to charging this thing charges at 50 watt wireless and 80 to 100 Watts with the cable
Video and pics look extra sharp on this camera. It's not a compliment. They look super digital and fake.
Best Android of 2025 with absence of adequate video recording capabilities.
How is the video quality of OnePlus 13? Does anyone have experience with it?
A lot of stutters/frame drops in videos shown...
I should have picked the black 1, I probably would have gotten it sooner.
Apple has been real quiet since this video published 👁👄👁
Not much thought put into the title considering it came out in January lol
I'm already sick of all this AI sht.
Cry harder
I assume that this is what OEM requests, as it is clear AI is a marginal concern for consumers, but many creators are still pumping out AI marketing. Apparently, the best AI phone is the Pixel, but after I tried out a few of the features, it has been months since I used them again.
videos shot from OnePlus 13 seem lagging..
Nice video
Thank you!
I wonder what LG would have if they stayed in the phone market.
Meanwhile the minute iphone 17, pixel 10, and S25 ultra drop, the 13 will go right in the review content dumpster 😢
Sony cameras have always been blue. I've never seen a Sony camera of any type that is warm.
Cameras are good enough
Compare it with s24ultra and 16 pro max in the same video. and still specify that this new phone is cheaper than both
Stop trying to turn everything into an iPhone if you get a hasselblad camera as compared with a Leica camera as compared with a Sony camera as compared with a cannon camera their pictures all look a little different. same thing with phones
The close all thing annoys the heck out me.

Watching on OnePlus 12
Compare it with the previous one. Easy
I feel that the rewrite everything for you with a.i is the only a.i bullshit I like.
The battery is shit. Don’t ask me why I know that 😂
OnePlus 9 Pro and 10 Pro both have 4K 120fps video recording.
OnePlus abandoned that feature with the 11, 12, and 13. 😑👎
Technology is supposed to keep improving. NOT downgrading.
Does it has esim?
I dont like the circular look of the camera, it looks silly
Compare to the iPhone and Pixel
How can you possibly claim that this is not sponsored by OnePlus when they gave you the phone and took you on a cruise?
Compare to the 1+ 13R
Oneplus 12 never has samsung sensors 🤣
For that price, wow no. Its Samsung territory, which is already too much.
Compare to Pixel 9 pro
5 seconds, no views??? Bro fell off 😞😞😞
🙏🙏🙏
Didn’t get paid… apart from a cruise
🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌
Great job, guy I don't know

This phone will be forgotten in a couple of weeks

Umm, no.
Ultra is going to start around $1200 this year.
@timanders3151 OnePlus 999$ for 16gb This remains a high price as well
