RIP trevor. this is my most spun record ever. i used to practice vocals to it from front to back. the solos are so memorable and the drums are perfect. forever a special album.
I think this is the first time I have been brought to tears listening to metal…one of the greatest metal albums of all time and so ground breaking when it dropped I’ll never forget the impact it had on me, my friends and the genre as a whole.
I was in highschool and did not have access to much music but got this banger. Two years later I was drummin this whole dam album with a friend on guitar. Still a fire album today.
Still their best album and Trevor's best performance in my humble opinion. I still have my original copy of this album that I got when it was new. The booklet and case have seen better days but I still got it! I dug these guys right away as soon as I saw the contagion music video on headbangers ball. Legendary album.
As an old death metal head i tended to hate the deathcore bands but these guys, early chelsea grin, and jfac always got the nod of approval for keeping with their roots and influences. I saw them once by surprise with some other bands and half the headliners cancelled so i got two hours of these guys with Trevor and i gained an appreciation for them immediately. Such an epic album. Plus youll never know how happy i was that cradle of filth cancelled lol i dont know who put that line up together but they should be bloodeagled in alcohol on fire. If im correct then madball played too. Wtf 😆
Not sure if you know about through the eyes of the dead, they were deathcore but had more of a death metal feel. I remember accidentally finding them trying to listen to the Cannibal Corpse song, when I was getting into metal back then, I was into death metal but also deathcore but I was also younger at that time so who knows maybe that's why I didn't care compared to older death metal fans 😂
@coryleblanc not so much sonic youth lol but yeah I mean yeah i listened to all those radio bands and that paved the way for my future interests. This was something else though lol blew my little 12yo mind
When I learned tremolo picking I locked myself in my bedroom for two days trying to learn this whole album. From time to time I go back and try to play these songs again never really got up to speed 😂
My favorite track on this album...the riff @ 1:16 of this song just takes me to my happy place...such a great tune. I love the entire album though...imo one of the BEST inaugural albums by any band ever! Love TBDM...I am ashamed to say I just discovered them although been into metal since the 80's...😢
Crazy to think this band and many of their peers were touring VFW halls and shit on these early albums. Proof the gatekeepers ALWAYS lose.... (Then go on to listen to Michel Buble.)
@@BenderBendingRodriguezOFFICIAL What world do you live in again? Metal isn't commercialized? Black Dahlia Murder isn't commercialized? LOL.... sure kid........ Thanks for the laugh tho.
i know what youre saying but altough hes the only founding member left, it still feels like a family with all other long time members. and the fact that ryan came back makes it feel like a tighter/warmer family
Dare I say this is their best record! Certainly my favorite, but then again I am an old head and nostalgia surely plays a part. Hoping to see these guys in a few months, I haven't seen them live since 2005!
To this day I just can't understand how these guys were thrown in the deathcore camp by so many. Like, they've always been straight up melodeath. Was it because they didn't look "metal" enough?
they were inspired by Prayer For Cleansing from North Carolina, a post-hardcore/metalcore band. but they toured with bands like The Red Chord who were deathcore. maybe thats why

Drums pristine and his vocals epic
21 years later and still an absolute banger \m/ R.I.P Trevor
Legendary record

Timeless.
This album is super nostalgic to me, and changed my life.
Changed my life too. Been listening to it for 20 years

I was in the 7th or 8th grade when this came out, my first metal album that I got. Been a metal fan ever since!

i played this cd until it broke. my favorite album of all time.
Timeless album, the boys set the bar high coming out the gate with this masterpiece, still play/ listen to it regularly. 🤘

Tbdm have been able to be in the top of my list with every album they never disappoints
I put it this on from time to time and really let it sink in. Apex still has my heart.

I still can't believe this came out more than 20 years ago.
My introduction to black dahlia and the album that got me hooked on heavier music in general
not slipknot, black sabbath, sonic youth, linkin park or metallica?
@coryleblanc not so much sonic youth lol but yeah I mean yeah i listened to all those radio bands and that paved the way for my future interests. This was something else though lol blew my little 12yo mind

Grande Trevor!!!
Timeless and supreme
“The next major step is the complete evisceration of the carcass…” I cannot express how much this album changed me when it came out.
Their best album. I felt every album after this was them trying to top it. They really went all out on this fantastic album.
YES
Thy horror cosmic rips my face everytime.
Unhallowed is right up there with The Satanist as quite possibly a perfect album front to back.
Fantastic album
from a US standpoint there isn’t a better melodic death album
This album blew mind when it came out
Here we go!
Best album.

The solo in Funeral thirst is still my favorite
Miss you Trevor. Time flies.
Masterpiece
I would have this album on rotate while playing TF2 whenever I got home from school.
Even the Black Dahlia Murder had that first raw melodeath album...
WELL WELL WELL 💪🍻

Amazing

Gatekeeping has kept metal what it is all these years what are you saying bro?
There is a reason this isn't commercialized and never will be.

I hope no one is refering to the vocalist as the new guy. Hes the only orginal member left.

Is this gonna be remastered?!?!Unhallowed along with Miasma are two of my Favorite TBDM albums
I hope so eventually, I'll be happy even if not though! I've listened to these guys for most of my life.
Doesn't need a remaster the production is perfect
That's the last thing I want for this album. It should be completely left alone.
Why would this need a remaster?

great 1st album! 🔥
Demanding a discography vinyl boxset or artbook reminiscent of Cannibal Corpse's Dead Human Collection
