I had no idea of the existence of JW Green Label; I now have three bottles awaiting my attention as the supplier told me he may not be able to obtain any more. It's actually a nicer sip than the 12-year Glenlivet which cost rather more. Col, NZ.

I have to be honest and premise my comment by divulging that I’m a huge Springbank fan❣️The Longrow 18 is quite possibly my favorite whisky. It’s not the best whisky I’ve ever had but it has most definitely earned a permanent place on my bar. An incredible whisky that changes before my very eyes no matter how many times I enjoy its company. Thanks for the excellent review❗️❗️❗️

Just had this one in my glass two nights ago and loved every drop. Superbly well balanced subltely peated malt. Haven’t yet tried it with a dash of water but will definitely give it a go after your saying how well it swims. Fantastic project with the auction, Ralfy - I hope it raises a lot for the Campeltown charity that you’ve jointly picked out with Springbank. And well done to Springbank for their employment policy at the distillery. Just visited the works a week or so back and was pleasantly surprised to see so many folk employed in the different areas of the factory, particularly in the bottling room. Our tour guide, old Jim, was a great ambassador for both the company and the town. Great stuff. Cheers!
This just finally became available at Total Wine in Phoenix Arizona! I've had Springbank and Hazelburn. Never got to try Longrow! Love it! I was so excited when I saw it on the shelf! First thought was, Hey! I remember Ralfy reviewing this! Having a dram now as I rewatch this old review!.
I was at the Springbank distillery a couple weeks ago... it felt like I was experiencing time travel... going back to when it was all very old school. They had several "distillery only" bottles to choose from so I was able to bring home a couple treasures. I am hoping to return next year to attend the school.
Springbank uses both traditional dunnage and modern rack style warehousing. Not a rickhouse style, but for lack of space there are needed. Old Springbank still has that earthy Baudoinia compniacesis covered dunnage flavour.
Ralfy, I've been watching this channel for about 6 months now and have very much enjoyed your reviews and found them very informative! I am currently due to your recommendation, enjoying a bottle of Monkey Shoulder. I look forward to many more videos in the future.

Ralfy, you should probably mention that each year the Longrow 18 YO is different in terms of casks used. So, what year is this? The date of bottling is printed near the base of the bottle. I've found that the 18 YO tends to get peatier the further down the bottle you get and the more water you add.
Just bought the only bottle of this Whisky my local liquor store had. Because of its price, they had it locked in a glass showcase with other expensive whiskeys. It was a little heavy on the wallet, so I am saving it for a special occasion. My 40th wedding anniversary just passed, so I missed that special occasion. May wait until my 50th or my funeral, whichever comes first 😁. I bought a bottle of Springbank 12 while I was there. There goes my Whisky budget for the next couple of months.

Our stores finally got some Longrow but unfortunately, it is NAS. It's still natural color, non-chill filtered and bottled at 46% so it's still pretty decent. They call it simply Peated Campbeltown Malt.
Just read some tasting notes on the 2018 and 2019 editions. i would guess Ralfy had the 2019 version....but let's see if we can get an answer from Ralfy.

Ralfy, Is there a way we can make some contribution to the Campbeltown charity since we may not be able to visit The Bon Accord in Glasgow or win the auction bidding? There may be hundreds of viewers who would like to contribute.

The 18 yo sounds malticiously mouthwatering but unfortunately it's a wee bit outside my budget. Not the regular Longrow though, which is brilliant (value for money).
I was always scared to try this, even if it is springbank. I believe peat is "used" very-very badly today....only for hiding bad quality malt/cask maturation, so I avoid for instance most of the Islay whiskies...except for unpeated Bunnahabhain. I hear the voices...yes..I know, I am missing out a lot of great whi...blablabla..... just like when people try to defend NAS. But your description about peat actually made me want to try this one.

Longrow is so hard to get hold of. I have never seen it on the shelf anywhere.
