    Growing up in the gym is realizing how useful the smith machine really is. After injuring my hip I exclusively use the smith and squat press and it’s been great. Do what works for you my friends!

    • @DavePuckett
      @DavePuckett ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I started having pain on the outer left hip, got checked out and rehab training was the recommendation. I don't do the free weight squat, but I can do the Smith squats with great results. Sometimes I like to use the Leg press floor model where the sled at the feet rises up at 45 degrees from the floor; these work great for me too, but - using the selectorized weight stack leg press where the feet are on a fixed platform and the body rises on the sled at 45 degrees from the floor irritates my hip. It's weird to me there is a difference like that between the two leg press machines. Did you ever experience this difference?

    What about feet position when squatting in angled Smith machines such as the life fitness one´s ? Personally I have found that using a "feet forward" technique doesn´t stress my lower back and allows me to get into full knee flexion, whilst If i try to use a "feet below hips" technique my lower back and knees usually get wrecked.

    • @p.l.6999
      @p.l.6999 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Feet position is a iniviual thing, which depends on your hips. A short answer would be: Do what feels good for you (max force without pain). For the long answer we don't have enough room, but stop movement which hurts your joints and adjust it in one or the other way. Sorry, english is not my first language.
