This song was made in early 1996 and released in April 1996, it became the fastest rising single in the history of music beating the Beatles Can't Buy Me Love at the time. It was huge. Eazy-E died in March 1995 so Bone thugs decided to remix the original version which came out in the summer of 1995. Not only did Eazy-E die after the original version was but bone also lost wish's Uncle Charles and layzie bones baby which you can see there is a scene in the video with a husband and wife at the hospital when the reaper comes
i wouldnt say that. its their biggest hit, ya, but creepin on a come up had thuggish ruggish and love of $ and came out a year before e.99 album. they was def poppin before crossroads
Thuggish Ruggish Bone was what made them famous because when that album came out no one heard anything like them before. This song was their biggest hit which got them a Grammy and was #1 on the Rap, Hip-Hop, and R&B charts
COACU made Bone Thugs popular because it was the new flow + harmony sound, but "Tha Crossroads" made Bone Thugs FAMOUS. Like big as The Beatles kind of famous. It broke genres and made way more people realize these are not 'just thugs.'
I have listened to this song over and over and over and over again since I was 5 years old that's how long I've been a Bone Thugs-N-Harmony featuring dedicated to the Bone Thugs boys they helped me get through a lot of problems or the kids going up brain cancer in and out of the hospital surgery after surgery
The scene with the baby, I think they were alluding to Layzie Bone’s son who died as a baby not long after birth. Layzie talks about it on some songs, he’s got a solo song on the Art Of War album called Mind Of A Souljah, he sings about it in the intro “baby boy my angel daddy’ll meet you at the crossroads”. In old interviews Bone talked about the crossroads as being the crossroads between life and death.
The Original Crossroads was dedicated to there friend Wally, after recording there first Album under Ruthless records in the mid 90s lotta friends and family was killed Wish Uncle Charles was gunned down, Krayzie Bone's cousin Lil Boo also, Layzie's baby Baby Boy died, and Eazy E it was like back to back. PS Tupac also liked the original Crossroads he told Bone, while he was in prison that song along got him through some rough times 😀

The three woman singing at the beginning are the group Tré they were part of the Bone side group Mo' Thugs, and one of the three is the sister of Shatasha Williams who sang the hook to Thuggish Ruggish Bone.
They did this about 1996 i think. The original Crossroads was on the E. 1999 album but they changed it after eazy died. I have two copies of the album one with Crossroads original version and one with Tha Crossroads remake. The Crossroads is purgatory.
