i love my kayaking the coast of scotland , i crave it . ahhh well next year it might happen . great video as usual . wish i could get out paddling , pheeeerrrrr , thats a real lightweight board , i had an inflatable but the wind off the coast of scotland just pushed me all over the place , bit scary with waves and troughs reaching 2m , hell of a ride i spent the best part of 3 days on an island off the summer isles ,

(Heavy) Rod performs great. i use a conventional reel with it and its a perfect set up for catfish.

hey i use a very light tiny anchor and it works awesome. looks like what you have but much smaller like 1/2 lb it grips and stops my kayak great

Hey Allie, I love the videos, very helpful for someone getting into paddle boards for the first time. I found a gently used 2018 model of the Vibe Maverick, since you have both the 2018 and 2019 models, can you tell me the pros and cons of the 2018? I really love the idea of being able to hop out on the lakes solo but I'm curious about how it handles waves and wind. I'm up in the Chicago area so we get some interesting weather and many different types of later (calm or busy lakes depending on the day, rivers with strong current, and large windy lakes). I also have 2 dogs who I'm hoping to cruise around with recreationally sometimes.
Thats awesome, I haven't tried with the dog yet but i will this summer.

Inflatables are tough to use in my opinion. Not very stable. Never used that one though! Thanks for watching.
You make a compelling pitch for SUP fishing, as do many youtubers. I really like the idea! I have one big stumbling block with it. For summer use, or warmer southern waters it might be a perfect craft for fishing. For northern waters in spring and fall, it might be best to get a sit-on kayak. I've spent many decades on the water and one always needs a plan for when they go overboard. That's been true if I'm white water rafting or fishing the Susquehanna River, the Chesapeake Bay, or Raystown Lake. Waters up north can be dangerously cold for three seasons. It's much safer for the northern angler to be in a kayak than a SUP. One can hit the drink from any craft, the idea is to minimize the possibility. A kayak is a better 4 season craft and therefore a better buy for most North American anglers. It might be worth mentioning this to your subscribers. I enjoy your channel very much and I am a subscriber. I just hope people considering this option weigh the pros and cons.

Hi Allie. Love your video! Hard to find knowledgeable, dedicated fisherwomen! Ive been shore fishing for many years and I tried a paddleboard for the first time and now want to fish from a paddleboard. In your opinion, do you think the Scott Burke Voyager would be an ok board? Its got pre-mounted rod holders and i can get it for a decent price (I am sort of poor and don't want to spend more than a few hundred). Thanks in advance!

This is a Vibe paddle. Has worked well for me!
What hooks are those on the wall? I just bought two Cubera 120s and need a good way to hang them, those look a little closer to the wall than most of the kayak hooks. Does hanging them on the hooks cause any deforming where it rests on the hooks?
No, but they tore up the wall pretty good. I can't remember the name, but wouldn't recommend them.
Hi. Thanks for the info. I'm just getting into SUP Board. I bought a BlackFin V if you don't recognize the name its by iRocker. Well its 12.6 ft and 32 inches wide, according to you it would be good for fishing also is this correct ? Its really not going to be my prime use, but if I do decide getting into fishing, what type of fishing setup do you feel I should look for to start. Thank you

Yes I do both. I have even taken it a couple mile out into the ocean. Haven't dumped it yet! I bet that was rough though lol.

Put some zip ties around the top of your crate to clip all those nice laynards, as they don't do any good if they are not clipped to the boat. Or use paracord etc....

So why SUP instead of a kayak?
A little more versatile. Its basically a kayak but a lot easier to stand on and fish from in my opinion. Less paddling power though.
OMG 70lbs? Equipment tracks? May as well get a Hobie that . Where are the rod holders on the side of the cooler? This setup/vid is definitely not for an inflatable.

They actually have a nice sit up chair that goes with it that's better on the knees and back while offering the same stability. It also easier to stand up and get on and off compared to most kayaks. Seems like a win win haha I'm looking at all options to buy and this on is definitely on my top list. Just need to save some money.

What is going on here? I've been fishing since I can remember and never ever I see a woman out fishing other than a family picnic/camping.
My ex and daughter refuses to get up early to fish and complains about bugs and being hot.
Reason why I say that is I'm a newby in paddle board fishing and when I searched for how the board is set up the first 4 vids are all woman. What happened to Bill Dance???
