10 secrets to preventing shaving irritation and bumps: 1. Wash your skin 1st 2. Only use a 1-2 blade razor 3. Sterilize your tools w soap/hot water/rubbing alcohol 4. Shaving cream+hot water Only 1-2 short passes per area 5. Don't press so hard 6. Shave with the grain 7. Shave less or use barber clippers 8. No lotions: Apply TendSkin (or isopropyl rubbing alcohol) 9. Wear looser clothes 10. Exfoliate with a Wizker brush
Avoid too many blades! If you are prone to ingrown hairs then you don’t need 3 or more blades. More blades equal more passes causing the hair to fall beneath the skin and become ingrown. Plus, more blading the skin leads to micro cuts through which bacteria is more likely to enter and this leads to razor burn.
Try using a single bladed razor. Double edge safety razor, cartridge razor, doesn't matter. Having a single blade going across your skin instead of 3 or more is going to make a difference.
So what I’ve learned is less blades on your razor, make sure your razor isn’t left to rust in the shower, don’t pass more than 2 times over an area and don’t press, use shaving cream or oil, exfoliate before, and use products with glycolic or salicylic acids before or in between shaving.
All of it is true but what u can do to get rid of it is if u do have it rub lotion Aloe vera base all over your razor bumps before you go to bed or after showering second thing if you could do if you want to avoid it, you could wax instead of shaving waxing is a lot different than shaving when you shave you’re just cutting off the top layer of your hair. It’s still gonna grow back what you could do is wax it off. It won’t come back for a good while. Or if you want to keep on shaving before you shave, add aloe vera to your legs first.
it won’t help. the only thing that helped me was shaving with the grain. hair isn’t cut as short as shaving against the grain but if having 1mm leg hair is the only solution then I can live with it.
@@doeeyes2 Can't afford 🥲Now I shaved only below my knees and this time it's totally fine.. It's just the thighs and the arms.. I'm thinking about shaving my arms again..I hope it doesn't happen again..Btw Thanks for advice ❤
I use strictly one brand/type of razor. I used to cut or nip myself. I tried so many brands & types, but then I found the one I have been stuck on for 13+years. It's the Schick Intuition chunky razors. Love those and hope they never discontinue. I don't use a cream but I should, and I really wanna get that exfoliation wash! That will, for sure, help. I rarely get razor bumps, but when razor bumps by my knees(I currently don't have any) and I don't use an exfoliation wash but I want to start.
I’m sure the body wash with SA is beneficial for shaving, it definitely doesn’t hurt!!! But in my opinion it is better to have an actual scrub to really scrub away any dead skin right then and there and to get all your body hair lifted up right before shaving. When I was younger before I was able to buy specific products for myself, I used to always make a diy scrub at home from brown sugar and coconut oil! Check your kitchen… it’s likely you have these on hand! Brown sugar is a great body scrub. I would even try mixing some brown sugar in with the SA body wash! I would bring a little bowl of some brown sugar into the shower with me… squirt some body wash into my hand, use my other hand to grab some brown sugar, rub my hands together to mix the 2 (maybe getting my hands a bit wet as well to help lather up the body wash) and after getting your body wet, rub that mixture all over your body section by section! I would start with my legs then my arms and then everywhere else. But being sure to get my legs and arms really well since that’s where I will be shaving! Then before rinsing I would go over my body with my wet loofa, even squirting more body wash onto the loofa before going over my body with it (if you feel necessary) like if most of the scrub mixture has washed off by then. If you don’t have a loofa or anything like it you can simply use a washcloth! Then rinse! Then apply shaving cream/oil or whatever and shave! When all finished… apply body oil and/or body lotion when your skin is still wet or damp. The more moisture the better. Voilà!
FOR PEOPLE WITH SUPER DRY CRACKED LEGS, ESPECIALLY BELOW THE KNEES: You know your diet is super bad. Sugar and carbs equal fatty liver. Get to the dietician doctor. That one fact cleared up all of my skin.
I know this is gonna be rude but its probably for the best, keeping things that can be used to harm yourself if you are doing those should be kept away from (at least in recovery) I hope your doing okay 🩷
