I just came back from my 5th trip to Sri Lanka. Honestly I saw LITTLE difference from before - the media hype up the drama , scare away the tourists and the people pay the price😔. ❤️❤️❤️ you forever SL🇱🇰

@@chixieb Yes. But they are not as long as it used to be. But if you are staying in a hotel, usually they have generators. Fuel crisis is partially resolved. So it won't affect that much.

Kandy to Ella by Train (most scenarios train ride of the world), then spend a few days or 1 week in Ella (many things to do there, it is a tourists city).. then take train to Nuwara Eliya... many things to see their (it's caled little England, old English town, with very cold weather, beautiful tea plantations , breathtaking sceneries), don't forget to visit Horton plains national park (would be a lifetime experience)... Then go to Sigiriya and Dambulla (go to Kawudulla national park or Minneriya national park, can see many elephants)... then go to Nilaweli beach (eastern part)... After that go to south part of Sri Lanka to experience beautiful beaches and surfing (Mirissa , Polhena , Hiriketiya, Weligama, Unawatuna, Hikkaduwa beaches ) Stay a few days in Galle ( Unesco heritage city, colonial architecture city buit by Dutch 300 years ago)... then go to Benthota and go back to Colombo..

You could have paid just a dollar or less if flip flops were rubber or plastic for beach wear. You should ALWAYS bargain for about half the asking price because some vendors quote a higher price for tourists unless you empathize with the seller and want to pay the full price. The leather flip flops are good for street weir and hope they last.

Welcome to Sri Lanka guys. Just an advice of caution. When you buy anything, if there's no price tag always bargain. Ask for half price of what they're offering. Same for the tuktuks without meters too. Majority of Sri Lankans are very very good and honest, but as in every where, there are scammers and dishonest people you may come across. Have a great time in Sri Lanka!

It's a good practice not to bargain with the poor and the weak ( at bargaining). Whole new doorways open in life.. especially if you are in sri lanka. We were taught not to use power and intelligence over other people to our advantage ( as its a karmic gift at birth) but to use it for the benefit of others.

@@The_final_leap since the weaker one finds it harder to escape the vicious cycle of karmic misfortune the suggestion to do better is made to the stronger one..
Anyways the right price for an item is in the mindset. Also one may pay the asking price in ignorance (of the going rate), pay grudgingly or pay happily.
I'd either buy from a shop at the marked price ,or buy from hawkers without bargaining thinking 'let the man be happy with that extra buck'.

Hi , Glad to see you guys in our little pearl of a country. But for your first video itself there were two scenarios which I though was not right, the man who directed you to a Buddha Hair temple (probably a misguidance) and the two guys who were trying to show you a construction site and telling a building was made to look like a ship which is the Cinnamon Life project and other certain buildings referred to as countries which is a huge joke. Be always careful of whom you get approached by, cause in this little country filled with amazing people, there are few who wants to always take extra advantage from foreigners. So Always try to believe a non approacher and get guidance. Good luck, and we’ll be following you for the whole stay. Stay safe 👍🏼

Hello Naomi/Luke, great to see you in Sri Lanka. If you get a chance, you should definitely visit a place called Ritigala. Its bit off the beaten track but it has history, mystery and nature. It's in North Central province and you will not be disappointed. You can plan this visit easily if you are heading to Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa or Habarana areas.

The Galle face is pronounced more like Goal face. And I really recommend you to try Cheese Kottu. Cheese kottu is one of the most unique and delicious foods in Sri Lanka. Enjoy your time here guys!

Most Sri Lankans will be nice especially to foreigners (who bring in money to a cash strapped country) but it's safe to be careful :)
Also if you guys can, don't ride on elephants if given the chance please? They're gentle giants and shouldn't be in captivity, if you notice their ankles (yellowish from past bruises from being chained) and the sharp spears their minders carry, you'll realize they've been put through a lot of fear to be obedient/obey :/
