At 26:53 there's an oriental garden lizard at the top of the concrete post and a myna bird at the top of a next one, so funny, talking about the roadside wildlife.
Udawalawe has around 600 to 800 elephants. Out of 26 national parks each and every one is different from each other. Yala and wilpaththu are best to see elephants, leperds, crocodiles, water buffolws, slot bears and many more. Udawalawe major attractions are elephants and buffolws also crocodiles, kumana and budala for bird's. Minneriya wasgamuwa, kaudulla for herds of elephants, galoya , maduruoya , elephants plus bird's.
Haggala, peradeniya, sithawaka botanical gardens.
Horton plains special eco system with beautiful waterfalls and seanaries, sinharaja tropical rain forest. Much more to explore in this small paradise.

Udawalawa is an area that was used for farming activities long time ego..at that time, there was a lots of troubles for the farmers as well as the wild animals..however, at present ..udawalawa has been given to it's rightful owners....beautiful video..👍💚

Hi again, I am Mahesh. The exchange thing ..... I always went to Prasanna's of Galle Road, Wellawatta & got a really high price. But this was in 2017 & 2019. For €50 & 100 bills I got even more. Better not to do this kind of transactions in the streets or outdoor. But some prefer dollars & I don't know why.
Around Udawalawa you can visit,
1. Ussangoda National Park. (Ussangoda is known for its unusual placement by soil structure, flora, and location. General belief is Ussangoda is a part of a meteor or a proximity to a meteor hit.)
2. Kalametiya Bird Sanctuary.

This is fantastic experience!! There are so many safari’s all around the country but for the holy grail, leopard show the best is Yala and Wilpattu and I must say it takes couple of full day safari with a really good guide to catch glimpse of them. They just vanish into thin air. Ideal time to start is 4.30am if you’re inside the jungle. Cause there are no vehicles you just go there early and wait until they show up. There are accommodations inside the jungles for insane cost but man that’s a different vibe. Bonfire inside the jungles with a view of the sea, bbq and some nice songs and booze with the breeze and infinite sky filled with millions of stars!!! That was Yala, watching this makes me wanna go back, and cease the moment. Thank you for sharing this with us ♥️

10:41 Luke is correct, Curry powder is not made from curry leaves alone, but brunch of different ingredients mixed together. curry leaves are one of the ingredients of curry powder. Also Curry leaves are use as one ingredient in many Currys most of the time as raw leaves

Wow you are covering some nice places. Udawalawa you get mostly elephants. You can even camp down there. Yala has got a range of other animals too, you'll see if it's a lucky day. Please don't miss Sigiriya lion rock and ancient ruins in Anuradapura and Polonnaruwa if you haven't been already. Also Trincomalee and other Eastern sea border as Pasikuda, Nilaweli etc. Also in the middle of the country those massive water falls as Diyaluma and Dunhinda are amazing sites. Enjoy your stay to the max. Sthuthi 👍

Udawalawa reservoir and the dam was built in late 1960s across Walawe River (one of the 4 largest rivers in the country). The tank has a huge hydropower plant and supply water to thousands of acres of paddy and a wide range of other agricultural cultivation, through canals running in all directions.

Udawalawa is not a less known place for safari in srilanaka. It is one of the best 2 national parks in terms of popularity. And i love udawala more than yala cause it was the first one i visited out of the 2. And always udawalawa bring back so many childhood memories, and both parks have some stunning hotels around. Love the vibe there. Nostalgia is at its best for me. Cheers, guys. Hopefully, u guys enjoyed it, as u mentioned.

The wildlife department bungalows are cheaper than most of the hotels outside. Usually a whole bungalow which could accommodate more than 11 people costs around Rs.14,000 per day. Which is like $36. If you want any help with recommendations and bookings, please let me know. I live nearby their booking office at Battaramulla
