He said in a song, I think it was one of his last, that “aint no grave gonna hold [him] down”. Aint that the truth? I started listening to him, and reading the Bible more and more because of his songs! I still not going to the church somehow...
he was an adultery, drunk, druggie, cursed, liar, etc..then he was saved after he fornicated and divorced his wife. Hmmm I understand our sins are forgiven after we get repent, get baptized, and receive the Holy Ghost. I hope he was saved after he committed adultery and not before. If he was first saved then sinned and then came back to Jesus Christ..well sadly then he would have been forever an adulterer as what the bible says. And the bible states that adulterers will not inherit God's kingdom. I used to listen to his music as well but when I found out he committed adultery and fornication on his wife then I lost all respect in him. Remember most if not all of the movie stars and singers sell their soul to the devil for fame and fortune.

I became a Johnny Cash fan back in about 1960 when he sang Five Feet High and Rising on TV and I'm still a huge Johnny Cash fan. And I'm looking forward to talking to him when we get to heaven. I love this song, He Tuned the Water in Wine. Jesus was truly God and a God of miracles.
There will never be another Johnny Cash. This gospel-like song and his recording of 'I was there when it happened' are 2 of my favorites of his. Superb.
Awesome stage presence. The story has been told 50 11 times but Merle Haggard saw him while he was incarcerated and how Johnny controlled the crowd was what he wanted to do and why he struck out to be a musician.

@TheEmpiricalTruth It's true that some of the greatest art has emerged from terrible situations and it'd interesting to speculate whether such fine music could ever arise from a more peaceful harmonious situation...
