3DR Solo App Woes

Why are these connectivity and app problems happening?
This is a model A1822 iPad, 5 th generation, and according to the App Store, it's compatible.
this is what the App Store chart reads:

With this test, we can see that the problem is not the RF environment, but lies elsewhere. Could the app be incompatible even though the App Store says It is?
is a wifi card bad?
tech support has not been of much help, but we are in contact...
and gimbal presets are still not working.... arg.... frustrating...
I'm much more fond of component based systems rather than integrated solutions. Solo is a bit of both, but a bit too integrated for me... hence not easily upgradable, and difficult to diagnose, and offers an almost non-existent choice of components. One mod is the MRO 8 series gps upgrade, but the board being designed by one of the co-founders of 3DR, it calls into question the legitimacy of both products.. What are the people who formerly were in charge of tech at 3DR doing? they created a product which functioned poorly, then tried to make a product for upgrade that fixed it? Maybe, but one has to ask: If they could not get it right in the first place, what makes us think that they would make a proper upgrade, or be capable of doing so? many reports of the upgraded GPS say that although it picks up many sats, the position lock is not as stable as the original GPS even...

Hi sorry i have one question instead of answering yours. How did you fit you Ipad on the controller? I have a 9.7 inch ipad air and i could not fit it on! Did you modify it or purchased an extention?

My cheap Sony xperia android phone works better with my Solo than my iPhone 8 .

Gday great vid keep up the good work can you or anybody help me I have no camera vision on my tablet at all the go pro works films etc but I'm flying blind...please please can somebody help me solve this problem as I'm permanently grounded till I fix it pls reply or even send me a message😐😐😐

I think the gimbal only works with GoPro 4? also, I had trouble with the modem in the transmitter..had to take out the micro SD card that was glued in, re-insert it, and do a factory reset. Also had endless problems with incompatibility of the app with some devices, and even when using an 'approved device" still had major reliability issues. the whole product is pretty unreliable. I suggest pulling video out with a cable, and using a low resolution fpv video transmitter to get it to the ground instead. the range of the HD video is crap.. but that kinda defeats the purpose...
