Great video Jocelyn & Taku! The pizzas looked awesome, but if you’re comparing pizza, you have to get the same pizza and eat in same conditions. Right away. No driving to allow dough to continue cooking or steam. I’ve been smoking sourdough pizza on my Traeger lately. Oh so good.
Thanks for sharing!!!
Your videos are always great, been watching them for quite awhile. Great job as usual!
It's been a few years since I lived in Seattle and since people became obsessed with "foodie-ness", but Pizzeria Pagliacci's double-mushroom pizza was (and maybe still is) mad good.
Taku shaming me on my poor mushroom palate
thank you for coming to Seattle...I love when people visit my hometown...I really enjoy your videos
This is the type of content I love from y’all!
Your smiles eating good food is always welcoming
Loving my knife carry case tons of compliments well made and can finally bring them everywhere!
You two should try making a pizza out of foraged and farmed materials. I mean, you won't find any dough or tomato sauce out in the bush, but you can get mushrooms, clams/mussels, fish, and plenty of greens!
they all look tasty and the variety of fresh toppings
❤ the video, excited for Alaska, and Mexico vlogs 👍🏻🤗
Aghhh man the sweet fennel and sausage at Serious Pie is amazing and their mushroom one had oyster mushroom and crimini with truffle BUT then the one with morels, caramelized leeks, scamorza and calabrian chilies.
That dress is fire! Glad you guys are enjoying Seattle.
Love the episode, can't wait until i can have pizza again
💛...pizza picnic in the park...as far as mushrooms go, in the pnw, there should be a supplier/forager at most farmers markets that'll get you the variety you want... a little more costly, but unless you forage your own, it might be a price worth paying... criminis aren't bad and a step up from white buttons, which are better than canned, so it's all in what is available and what the market can stand... keep up the good work...
Pizza Time! Love the video. I know what I’m having for dinner tonight.. lol!! 🤘🏽
Looking forward to trying Lupo!
Guys if you do a part 2 you should check out Via Tribunali. I used to live in SLU/Denny Triangle (for over a decade) so I was walking distance to both Tutta Bella and Serious Pie. Tutta was always no nonsense but they did make some strange ingredient decisions that seemed possibly cost-based (like an over-reliance on cherry tomatos). Serious Pie is fancy Tom Douglas stuff but always good when in the mood for something out of the ordinary. I don’t remember Lupo when I was there but I will have to cross the bridge and try it. Again I think you will find Via Tribunali well worth your while.
Jocelyn looking extra fine in that dress 😍
Y'all gotta try Detroit style pizza. Buddy's margherita pizza is my fave, but most of their signature pizzas are awesome! Come by Michigan and the great lakes; it doesn't disappoint.
Thanks for the video…glad you didn’t loose a tooth on that shell…looks like a awesome place for a pizza 🍕…be safe!!
Preach on the basic shrooms! I actually hated mushrooms until I tried the fancy ones and wondered why I waited so long for something so amazing.
Made a pizza at home with oyster mushrooms pan fried in butter before topping and cooking the pizza, HOT DAMN!!!
Loved seeing this since I live here! I would like to say a word about mushrooms as a retired chef and former owner of two restaurants……food cost has to be the reason. I was shopping today (retail) & crimini were $4.99a pound. Maitake $29 a pound. At least they weren’t white button mushrooms….or cannned😂
Considering white button = agaricus bisporus = crimini …
But I hear ya. I like even the lowly button myself
I’d love to see you both make a video about great mushrooms to use in dishes. I unfortunately don’t live in an area where I can forage for them easily. 🍄
Check out our main channel @outdoorcheflife we do a lot of foraging and fishing then cooking it up.
I'm hyped for the Mexico videos. They have the best food!
Probably safer than San Francisco and Seattle too.
“One bite, everyone knows the rules” 😂😂😂
2:31
That's what I've been saying this whole video
😂
I was born and raised one hour south of Seattle.. now living in Kansas.. anyway I still miss the northwest environment, food and fishing also all of my family still up there in Washington. One more things pizza is one of the best up there no question!
World Pizza in the International District used to have Chanterelle pizza in the fall when they're in season. That was many years ago but it was very good. Their mushroom game was on point.
when I get my new boat fixed up we'll try some Kokanee fishing Art Keyes
one of the best pizza places in WA is Sorellis Pizza in Mountlake Terrace. should give em look next time you're in the area.
If you end up anywhere near Wilkeson Washington try the pizza at The Carlson Block
I just wanted to tell outdoor chef life that I've been a number-one fan of your channel since day one and I've been watching all your episodes for the last five years ever since you had 7000 subscribers when you guys come to Seattle next time let me know because I live next to Seattle and I would love to meet up with you guys and show you some of the fishing spots I live on an island call Whidbey Island and I could also take you grabbing salmon fishing and show you some great places to go eat food I'm a chef and I work at a hotel
Number 3 looks so good but number 1 and 2 never hear about those pizza until watching your great videos
Thank you for a nice review; you are both so engaging and beautiful!
I always make sure there are smoked oysters , blue cheese, broiled tomato slices, and spicy chili oil on one pie !
This is so cool as someone that lives in Seattle. The only one that I have had is Serious Pie and its pretty decent, speaking of I am pretty sure I know what park you guys are in when you were eating Serious Pie.
Closed recently, it opened in 1954, Northlake Tavern and Pizza House. Best college student pizza ever. Pizza was, like 6 pounds. I always got the Sausage, mushroom and black olive. Got your money's worth. Always packed. Could eat on it for days
was recently reopened as Big Mario's Northlake Tavern...run by the same folks as Capitol Hill location...
my favrite pizza in pnw is amantes. it doesn't have fancy ingredientents but it's good
“He’s dead.” 😂😂
What was that Cucumber salad, so enticing. Literally made my mouth water
Hi Taku!!! Hi Jocelyn!!! Cool pizza vudeo🍕🍕🍕🍻🍺
Try MOTO pizza, no wait Belltown, best pizza! They have clam pizza too but I usually get the Kissed
Stopp where was this pizza place in NZ? I need to try!!
When I heard the sirens initially I was like oh god there's an emergency coming into the health center I work at. Thank goodness it was only in the video! 😂
love the episode but now I need to know...random place in NZ, where? whats it called??
For some reason i was thinking perhaps milk goes well with pizza, love this episode!
yes,I like milk or rootbeer
Dope hat!
serious pie is good. tutta bella is good too (my wife's favorite). haven't tried lupo's (foodie friends say underwhelming) or moto's (highly rated but hard to find).
pizzeria pulcinella is rated as the #1 pizza in seattle (located in Rainier valley neighborhood). sanctioned with the DOE, Neapolitan certification and had a valoriani pizza oven imported in from Italy. It's been around since at least 2009.
...so you're missing one.
Taku the mushroom snob 🤣
❤❤❤ more reason to come live in WA!
Thin cheese pizza cooked well done is the way to go
You tried my favorite pizza in Seattle! The clam pizza from Serious Pie ❤
It was so good!
I make an awesome pizza!! A Chicago thin tavern cut style!!
Tutabella looked good…would love to have seen the inside of the pizza places and what ovens they we’re using…
Sorry, yes! Lupos looked cool inside!👍. The crust there looked amazing!😮
All of the pizza would be better if added kelp chili crisp!!!
super mario on them shrooms! lol
Now I'm going to have to go and get me a pizza
Speaking of wild mushrooms, I hear people are starting to find lobster mushrooms in Washington. Just an FYI.
Yummy 🤤
Moto is great! The wait isn't that bad anymore... maybe 15 minute wait. And it's like 5 minutes from my place!
Go to Loretta's Northwesterner, best cheese burger I’ve ever had.
I'm craving a good pizza.. i need a GREAT pizza spot in Whittier, Ca
What do your viewers suggest?
"boy, you got a lot of pepperonis in your bread"
pizzeria pucinella on rainier ave is good.
+1 to pizzeria pulcinella. i'm surprised they didn't try it
How did you not go to big Mario’s?
My blood sugar spiked just from watching
That was fun🎉.
Too bad I live in VT😢. CHINESE same way!
JO JO IN VT 💞
Sorry to be so contrary but when does burn = yum? When things char like that you are converting flour into carbon. I'm a NYC boy and while a NY Slice is fine I'm more into Sicilian style pies. Those are the ones we make at home. I just have to work up the courage to make one in the pellet grill.
Nice
My guy with the Mexican Coca-Cola.. The good stuff.
I’m picking lobster and chanterelle mushrooms 6 hours east of you. Swing by and I’ll give you guys some.
Serious pie is chef Tom Douglas’s restaurant. The cherry bomb is the bomb. But Tutta Bella’s white pizza of prosciutto and Arugula pizza is still the bomb. I think you picked the red pizza that was prosciutto and mushrooms. The white prosciutto & arugula doesn’t have the mushrooms you don’t like. Tom Douglas main serious pie location in downtown has the bakery. The bread I find too oily vs tutta Bella. Lupos, I’ll have to try but it appears the crust is a tad too burnt from the yelp pictures. :)
What is this Sitka pizza place that Jocelyn gives a 10/10??
Ya'll missed out on Post Alley Pizza! Even kenji lopez speaks highly of it!
I'm having a very hard time focusing on your pizzas. My attention seems to be drawn elsewhere. I am enjoying the video. Keep up the good work. Thanks Jocelyn!
bonk yourself for this comment
There were two clam pizzas in that one shot.
I wanna criticize Taku for always putting cleav in the thumbnails. But here I am 😂
suprised you didnt put chili oil on pizza hahahaha its bomb
🌴 So you two , the quest for the perfect 🍕🤔 now in order to make it fair you would of have to gotten the same style pizza but at the different places other wise it’s like comparing a pinto to a Ferrari, all the pizza’s would have to have the same items on them , I’ve gotta say watching you two in the middle of a city is almost a bit unsettling!
Welcome to Washington State. 🎉
Come to New Haven. We are the Apizza Capital of the world 🤙🏽
Yea pretty sure those mushrooms and some others are why I absolutely hate mushrooms.
Just always gag when trying Mushrooms and those tend to be the ones used.
Yo! There's nothing wrong with crimini mushrooms Taku!!! 😂😂😂 c'mon! Show some crimini love!
Lovely video - the 1st 2 pizzas looked great - but the last one - eew - the edges were so burnt - can still feel all that burnt dough between my teeth!! : (
Too bad Stellar Pizza in Georgetown closed because that would have been an excellent contender!
Pizza Prosciutto e Funghi is with champignon mushrooms. Not Maitake mushrooms. The pizza was well made.
❤
Next time yall come back to Seattle. Should try hot mama's in capital hill.
Try Dinos pizza next time in cap hill
Did you guys try Pagliacci? That's like the local favorite.
I used to eat entire pizza's minus the mushroom like that in one sitting and still weight under 140 5'101/2"
Yea nobody's thinking three pizza places in one day we r thinking something else lol
❤🍕❤🍄❤🍕❤🍄❤
Pizzeria Pulcinella would have been the best.
🍕👍
I've never seen any other kind of mushroom on pizza
That dark burned spots on the last pizza dough means that they didn't let the dough come up to room temp before they cooked it.
Those first two “pizzas” were more like topped flatbread, while Luppo’s looked more like a traditional pizza. If you want a completely different pizza experience, I suggest coming over to the east coast in New York City. I’m certainly biased but in my opinion the pizza here is far superior.
That lady is amazing looking. ❤
Tuta Bella tastes like Campbell’s tomato soup with melted string cheese.
