The curtains for the closet are already attached to a pole when you get there, so no rod is needed.

There were definitely people who did hang curtains, so I believe you're allowed to! I think the best way would be using a tension rod

we brought an over the door hook thing and our suitmates used some command hooks. However there are 4 towel bars within the bathroom itself that come with the dorm, but we found it easier with the hooks.

yes! both rooms have a sink, you just share the bathroom and shower
