As a far East-Sider, To be fair to Jurong Point, although it doesn't have the aesthetic and architectual of Waterway Point, it is more functional with greater food options.
As a guy who served NS in Jurong Camp, I have to say Jurong Point really is very functional and serves many needs. As someone who lives near Yishun, Northpoint is peak and everyone else is wrong.
Is it just me who feels that easties are always less travelled. I'm a westies but I have always been in the east. lol but my easties friends are always clueless about the west.
I’m also a westies, but feel that the answer to this is that Easties have majority of the things already there, and west don’t, so we usually travel more, like work, food, etc. ;(
omg can we have an episode where yall actually visit all these malls and rate them AGAIN cos waterway point is criminally underrated like it has a beautiful waterfront area, DDDK, yakun, uniqlo, toriQ, sushiro, love bonito, jollibee, fairprice finest, ANYTHING YOUD EVER WANT. cld be a site visit w quests to find random stores cos for northpoint city itd be impossible to find cos it SUX and is worse than waterway point thanks
waterway is also q confusing tbf with the different "wings". i dont live in punggol and whenever i go to waterway i can never find the shop i want hahaha
Rank secondary school uniforms! If not enough content you can talk about the need for school uniforms at all. and weird rules like the french braid in nan hua - how did it even come about and is it really necessary? and fun fact plmgss had their pinafore belt sewn on because the girls cannot wear their belts properly. and also schools forcing us to buy school socks and jackets. identity or waste of money?
What makes East side OP compared to West is that East side you cannot just look at individual mall to compare like in the West, because everything in East side is so close proximity, like Tampines Central is Tamp Mall + Century Square + Tamp One + Tamp Hub + all the surrounding non-mall shop congregations around them. Pasir Ris isn't just White Sands. Its also Downtown East. + The amount of converging MRT lines in the East.
It’s true, sometimes when I walk home I see Shermz cycling to Alvin’s place. But seriously Jurong Point sucks and I have lived in Jurong for all my life. It is just too crowded and out of the way. Jem+Westgate+IMM is the OP combo.
Used to live in halls at ntu, going to jurong point was like a half day affair... Have to take the only bus which loops inside ntu to get out, waiting times were long on weekends. But nonetheless, it's still a pretty nice mall for an afternoon grocery run during weekends.
Wow I thought Waterway point was bigger but according to Wiki is Northpoint City is like 2x the size. Nevertheless both malls do not have stuffs that will entice people from far to travel to. They are malls just to service the people nearby.
You have everything you need in Jurong point to live your entire life without leaving Jurong west unless you want IKEA and super luxury brand such as Balenciaga etc. We have the different banks, the different phone brand shops, the different Japanese food along Japanese street including dondonki, the different Chinese (mainland china too) food in the mall and outside the mall, the different clothing brand including Uniqlo, a cinema, 3 arcades, all the common fast food restaurants, mixue for cheap ice cream, halal foodcourt, popular, 24 hr ntuc... Seriously, what other essentials are missing?
When I was young Wisma had an aquarium at the basement and a children’s playground on the roof. Those were the times! Anyway I live in Shanghai now, and the malls here put the malls in SG to shame!
As much as I appreciate Northpoint as an Yishun resident, it’s definitely not better than the Rank C malls 😂 As Sherms mentioned, too many of the same shops. The rest were probably too unfamiliar with the mall haha
Regardless of mall locations. How they manage the cleanliness is sometimes questionable. Especially knowing the high customer flow, toilets are the one thing that needs more attention.
Yishun Golden Village building is the first cinema concept of having 10 theatres all-in-one cinema :) quite classic. Super crowded in the Hey Days! Btw.. haa no one talked about WestMall or Lot 1, since Yew Tee Point has been mentioned?
Jurong Point is the best mall! Those voted less than A simply never patronise this mall to understand how awesome it is! By the way, Jurong is a very very big area. MRT stations from Jurong East all the way to Pioneer are under Jurong.
yall, go jurong point and try the msia boleh, alllllllllll the stores are like 7 and above. the fucking oyster omelette, prawn noodles, curry mee, chicken rice, fish soup, chilli pan mee, ALL FUCKING SOLID. find me a mall, with a foodcourt with THAT MANY HITS.
dont even get me started on the prices. the drinks outside 1.8 to 2. idk how boleh keeps it at 1.30. wtF??!?!? banmian $4.50? my kpt downstairs no aircon also 5.6 PLEASE TRY
Okay I see Nex is ranked D?? And worst mall by public?? How?? It literally has everything you need, 2 MRT lines, NTUC, Cinema, Library, Arcade, Gym, Pet store, Popular, Daiso, Sephora, plenty of food & shopping options.. even has all the telco and mobile shop outlets LOL && the crazy crowd is just a testament to how good the vendors in Nex are~

Hands down JEM-Westgate-IMM, this Golden Triangle is the mall(s) in Singapore!
As a far East-Sider, To be fair to Jurong Point, although it doesn't have the aesthetic and architectual of Waterway Point, it is more functional with greater food options.
3 electronics stores also
Jurong point has dondondonki and a japanese street with mister donut !!!!!! food options are crazyyyyy
Jurong point feels super homely !!!! Can do wee hours grocery shopping cos FairPrice is 24/7!!!
As a guy who served NS in Jurong Camp, I have to say Jurong Point really is very functional and serves many needs.
As someone who lives near Yishun, Northpoint is peak and everyone else is wrong.
Dan and Jon are trying so hard to upsell Waterway Point but in reality, it is just another Yew Tee Point. Just aesthetically nicer. 😂
My argument for Jewel is that it's a treat whenever you go to the airport. I love being there because it's associated to traveling overseas 🥰
Is it just me who feels that easties are always less travelled. I'm a westies but I have always been in the east. lol but my easties friends are always clueless about the west.

West Side BESTTTTT SIDE
JURONG POINT HAVE ALLLLLL THE FOOD THAT U LIKE
The ranking is so bias and the west side is so under represented. Props to Sherm for representing the west !! WEST SIDE BEST SIDE!!
Nah bro east side best side
omg can we have an episode where yall actually visit all these malls and rate them AGAIN cos waterway point is criminally underrated like it has a beautiful waterfront area, DDDK, yakun, uniqlo, toriQ, sushiro, love bonito, jollibee, fairprice finest, ANYTHING YOUD EVER WANT. cld be a site visit w quests to find random stores cos for northpoint city itd be impossible to find cos it SUX and is worse than waterway point thanks
yah but it's in punggol 🤣
disagree. Northpoint city has a lot of eateries and fashion accessories. Bata, Uniqlo,OPPO, New Balance, McDonald's, KFC, Mos Burger, and many more..
waterway is also q confusing tbf with the different "wings". i dont live in punggol and whenever i go to waterway i can never find the shop i want hahaha
If shermz run for Pioneer SMC, i will vote for her. Thank you for fighting for Jurong Point
I want to see the debates for malls that suddenly appeared on the closing scene :') nex suntec mbs funan vivo :'))))
Love the show btw ❤

omg wait then yall can attend the podcast wearing your old school uniform
ION Orchard and Jewel Changi is one of my top shopping mall for me. The toilet is the cleaner than other malls
how come JEM isn't on the list? JEM is honestly amazing for west siders. I rank it A!
Until the day they fix all the toilets and dryers then come and talk, otherwise, its a pretty clean and nice mall
-Sherms
@@TheDailyKetchupPodcast Ya lor, ik Lot 1 and WestMall isn't any better but its definitely better than Yew Tee Point.
omg please do more ranking videos!! i love it
Omg hilarious. The cast really had too much fun roasting each others mall
@jonchua yes north point city is indeed bigger than waterway point, probably by like almost 1.5 times the size
Wow I thought Waterway point was bigger but according to Wiki is Northpoint City is like 2x the size. Nevertheless both malls do not have stuffs that will entice people from far to travel to. They are malls just to service the people nearby.
@@mitchelltan2909 Hence is a heartland mall.
West side best side! ❤😂
I think Jurong Point left with 1 NTUC. The one at basement is replaced by Donki!
Why these ppl so biased how to rate liddat 😂
I love shermz, west is best, we always look out for one another.
I stay at yishun. Northpoint city includes cinema, community centre, residental area call North ParK Residences, intergrated Bus Interchange...

love this seriesssss!!! please do more hahahah :D
Your ranking series is always so ridiculous but yet so funny... The way Jon defend Punggol really deserves an award!!! 😅 Pls do more... Hahahaha
Please do a sequel episode for Ang Mo Kio Hub, City Square, White Sands, Compass One, Plaza Singapura, Raffles City and Suntec City
I think that you all can be more objective, can just rate the mall and not the location and feelings you associate it with.
just went to jurong point and omg it sucks so freaaaaaking crowded and so complicated?! WHY 3RD FLOOR NOT CONNECTED BY ALL ESCALATORS?!
I agree with John, Ion is messy. Paragon and MBS is so much better.
You have everything you need in Jurong point to live your entire life without leaving Jurong west unless you want IKEA and super luxury brand such as Balenciaga etc.

I know the person who created the ion orchard mall smell. His shop is in Ion mall itself. Nice guy
Wow I didn’t know that😮
When I was young Wisma had an aquarium at the basement and a children’s playground on the roof. Those were the times! Anyway I live in Shanghai now, and the malls here put the malls in SG to shame!
How the heck Yew Tee Point made into that list lol! I go Yew Tee Point for the less crowded Coffee Bean.
Pls we gotta gate keep!! 🥲
Let’s not forget JP have 4 banks! Ocbc, uob, posb and dbs. No malls have these at 1 location!
Thanks for this entertaining episode! 😂
As much as I appreciate Northpoint as an Yishun resident, it’s definitely not better than the Rank C malls 😂 As Sherms mentioned, too many of the same shops. The rest were probably too unfamiliar with the mall haha
how about ranking mrt stations haha
can rank places with best kaya toast and coffee
Regardless of mall locations. How they manage the cleanliness is sometimes questionable. Especially knowing the high customer flow, toilets are the one thing that needs more attention.
thanks sherms for fighting for the west !
i always go ion for their toilets. The cleanest toilet in sg. And nicest smelling one too.
The Jurong Point argument damn funny HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Yishun Golden Village building is the first cinema concept of having 10 theatres all-in-one cinema :) quite classic. Super crowded in the Hey Days!
Btw.. haa no one talked about WestMall or Lot 1, since Yew Tee Point has been mentioned?

I would like to know besides John Paul, who else do not go to Mall ? I think 99% of Singaporeans go to Mall.
