World class musicians. The "call and response" between band members is next level. Love these guys. Give a listen to Dirty Loops if you are not familiar with their music. Thanks for the reaction. My kind of music.

The music IQ in that room was off the charts.

More snarky puppy plz . Even their more recent songs. Their recent album got them a Grammy this year. Larnell was also drumming on it

Larnell Lewis - The City Lights - Drum Solo is AMAZING!!! I say it's a modern Moby Dick drum solo. Larnell has an incredible musical IQ!

Actually, the bass player (Michael League) is the conductor and composer.
The guy who took his headphones is another keyboard player in the band who had a feature song “Sleeper” which just got eclipsed by Cory’s solo on this tune.
The black headphones are audience members Silent Disco bluetooth headphones coming of the mixing board’s main feed.
You should consider exploring an artist SP collaborated with: Jacob Collier.
You can start with the song they did together, “Don’t You Know” (a love song in 14/4)

And the guy who took off his headphones has six Grammys to his name.

The keyboardist eyeballing Cory Henry has 3 grammys iirc. For more jazz fusion
, you might want to listen to Jean Luc Ponty.

@@robfarrell8950 Big Shawn is a funny guy. Love it when he puts a bill in the "tip jar" for Corey's solo... lolol

when pausing rewind back 10 or 20 seconds... not breaking the flow of the music is important

I second Dirty Loops. You will be amazed at the musicianship. Check out Thriller, Work Shit Out, Rock You, Hit Me...

The main drummer said he learned this song in 24 hours while on a flight to perform this.

24 hour flight? Long flight. It was 6 hours. All the more amazing.

This is not entirely accurate. While it is true that Larnell Lewis learned a lot of the songs on We Like It Here on the flight and on the days of recording, Lingus was not one of them. Lingus was written long before We Like It Here was recorded and was played live by both Sput and Larnell before this recording. It is hinted at in the DVD (which I highly recommend), where Michael League says that Larnell has played "one or two of these songs before today." Lingus, Shofukan, and "What About Me?" were all played live several times before We Like It Here was recorded. You can even find videos here on TH-cam of Lingus live several months before the album recording. This does not take away anything about Larnell's performance on the record, though.

The musicianship of theis band is out of this worls! By the way, bass player Michael League is the composer and bandleader!

Sorry dude, you are wrong. Larnell had played with Snarky Puppy before, maybe not this precise lineup, but he did know a couple of these songs already. Not all of them, but a couple. He already knew this particular song and had performed it with them before. I think the other one he already knew was 'what about me'. But he did have to learn the balance of what they recorded on this date on the ride over there. They were able to run through everything a couple of times before they recorded. Still, it's an incredible feat. If you don't believe me, go watch the documentary about it, he'll tell you what I just did.

Once Neil Peart died, Larnell is now number one.

I think that the drums, percussion, keyboards and bassist are the ones that carries the songs tempos and rhythms

This was a 'studio album' recording, not a jazz session

I'm sorry, but you broke my cardinal rule of "first time" reaction videos. DO NOT pause in the middle of the song to "react to what we've seen so far". Just watch the whole thing and listen to it like a normal person would for the very first time, and then talk about it afterwords. I'm not downvoting, just venting why I hate reaction videos that pause.

oh no, they broke *your* cardinal rule
      whatever shall they do
      how can they go on
