    That’s a great haul, George! Loads of fantastic stuff there. Scott Walker‘s debut is a beauty and I wore my Heaven or La Vegas cassette out back in the day. Looks like pretty good prices too! Happy listening, Jack

    There's nowt like a good record fair! You did well George, especially getting Tales for a fiver! One of the greatest albums of all time - an absolute steal at that price 😀.

      Record fairs are the best! A great deal on Tales..., you just do not see albums like that anymore for £5. That was a great seller.

    Good haul! Interesting comments towards the end about incorrect grading on some stalls. I had a similar experience at the Reading record fair last year where I just trusted the grading on the sleeves and bought 3 from one guy, and when I got home I was gutted to find they were trash. I've been buying records for 30 years and should have known better, but I had sort of figured you could trust dealers at fairs on their grading. Shame, but 90% of them are trustworthy.

    Benzine [for leather cleaner] is the best for removing stickers.I've used it and its great. You get some cotton wool and soak it and put it on the label within 10" you can slowly move the label off.

    Some reasonable prices on those vinyl finds, George. 'Rattus Norvegicus' I bought (on tape) when it came out. Careful application of lighter fluid should slowly lift that pesky price tag.🤞

    Great video as usual George. I was massive Cocteaus fan back in the day & saw them at least twice. Have all their stuff on vinyl ( up to H or LV) except the Lullabies ep which I'm always on the look out for.

    Hello George. So overall pretty decent. As an occasional seller smaller fairs have cheaper tables by far so should be cheaper prices all round. I've never swung to getting those Scott walker 1-4 I find them a bit hmmmmmmm clichéd to like, prefer the hits or his way out post late 70s ones more interesting.
    The graded scratched record man hopefully had a crap day. Rather don't grade then at all. Pricing accordingly is probably what I'd do.

    Lots of coincidences here George. I had that Cocteau Twins in my hand in Brighton last week. They had it on for £90.00 which is about par...I was going to offer £75.00..but then put it back...I would have pulled the trigger at £60.00, so £50.00 is a result. My ultimate grail is Scott 4...which I would actually go to £100.00 for VG+ vinyl..im actually not as keen on the first, but £10.00 is a steal. Scott 3 is also fantastic imo. Very informative...will check that fair out..Southampton been a bit dissapointing recently bar Richard & Clive who are both legends.

      Thanks mate. Well worth checking this fair out indeed - just as close from yourself as well.
      Very pleased with HorLV. As the stall selling it seemed a bit overpriced on some items, I had to check it to make sure.
      I saw one a few years back at a local record shop for £40 and passed on it - regretted ever since.
      Shame that Southampton fair has declined a bit recently 😞

    Try using spit on the end of your finger and wetting the sticker and gently removing it, never had a problem removing stickers that way its always worked, just as good as any solvent and safer.

    Enjoy Scott 1... wonderful stuff. Scott 3 and Scott 4 have really increased in price in recent years but I remember dealers asking for decent money in the early 90s for his 60s releases. Good to see you had a fruitful fair. I was at one today and going to another next Saturday. Rarely leave empty handed. Cheers Nige

      Hi Nigel. There was actually a Scott 3 there on a different stall for £80. I didn't check it out as did not have enough funds TBH. Will check out more in the future no doubt.
      Good luck on your fairs, hope you finds some gems! 🙂

      @@georgeprior-vinylshowtell4934 Scott 3 and 4 are amazing, with Scott 4 just edging the two for me. Thanks, I did alright on Saturday. Decent priced Spirogyra - Old Boot Wine and a couple of cheapies. Cheers Nige

    Heading to a vinyl fair here in Australia in an hour, i always find them stressful and i have trouble thinking clearly, feel pressured and rushed.
    Im always looking for ways to make the experience easier.
    There are always dealers there that i need to avoid but somehow get caught up digging through their overpriced overgraded stuff.
    My plan is to stand back and observe for a while before i dive in.

    • @georgeprior-vinylshowtell4934

      Well, I hope your fair turned out good!
      I do know what you mean - they can be overwelming to start off with. But, I just try and take my time to work through everything of interest.
      At the moment, I am favouring these small fairs against some of the big ones I've attended recently.

    Great video, George, and excellent pickups particularly those Cocteau Twins records. Pete certainly has good stock and always reasonably priced. I stalled there once last year and recognise the seller of the Yes/Bowie/Stranglers albums you bought - his stock is undeniably priced low and I dug through and found some interesting titles that I bought on the day. Disappointing to hear of your experience with the seller that over graded the records you inspected - no justification for that. Did you check out the Nirvana albums seen in the display in your video at time stamp 03:43?

    • @georgeprior-vinylshowtell4934
      @georgeprior-vinylshowtell4934  9 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hi Richard. The stall with Bowie, etc was indeed great and pleased to hear he is there a lot. Will certainly return to Fareham in the future - hope to see you there at some point!
      I did not check the Nirvana albums out, they were unpriced and I knew my cash budget would not cover. I already own All of Us, which I saw you also showed recently on a vid. Mine in the second press on Pink 'I' label. Still need Simon though. Here's hoping.

    Great haul, jealous of your Cocteau Twins finds, I've been working my way through the earlier LPs (same with Dead Can Dance) not easy to find them at a reasonable price, but I have managed it with a bit of perseverance, is HoLV expensive because it was a more limited early 90s press?

    • @georgeprior-vinylshowtell4934
      @georgeprior-vinylshowtell4934  11 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @Turrell_ I got lucky with those. Heaven... like most originals from the 90s sold low as CD was king back then.
      Keep hunting, they will find you! 😀

      Hi Richard, I could talk all day about that record, I really could!
      It's grown on me slowly over the years and I look forward to playing the upgraded copy here. For me however, it doesn't flow too well. It actually sounds like a collection a really great short tracks that have been patched together. All a bit disjointed.
      For some, the best thing they ever did. I agree with you though, the albums before were much better.
