One thing that always impresses me when I watch LSV play any format, is his ability to instantly find the "worst case scenario" like the toughest set of cards his opponent could have.
All I'm saying is it would be nice to see audio and video in sync. It's not minute; it's annoying honestly. (I know LSV does not intend to do this purposefully, let alone anyone on the CFB Team.)
Just wanna say that I respect that you justified your picks, but I love watching your content and the channel as a whole because of the knowledge you guys bring to every video. I've learned so much about how to draft from these videos, and as with any draft format, there WILL be archetypes that come together more frequently and are all around better. Keep up the great work, you guys have been putting out quality content like crazy and I've been loving it!
Hey, i was your round 1 opponent. If i recall correctly i was mono green and boarded into blue to have some card advantage, even though i wasn't really confident about the ancestral vision i added in game 3. The elf + tracker attack into venser, though...that was kinda embarassing! I tunnel vision'd thinking about mana drain and completely forgot about Venser. ggs
LSV called shots never fail to impress. Very first play of the game “I’m gonna thoughtseize in case they are a green deck and I can take a one drop like heirarch” “oh look, a green deck with heirarch”
LSV punting away his Fatal Push in the last round made me feel better about the million times I've done something similar. However, I don't have LSV luck to not lose those games.
a big reason blue is in most cube decks is because it is a splash color. the other 4 colors got some kind of identity and arcetype that is mono colored green:ramp red: burn white: white weenie black: combo(reanimator/storm) but blue don't have that, the closest archetype identity blue has is control. but you rarely see mono blue control, while the other 4 monocolor archetypes show up a fair bit. but when you look at 2 color the most common archetypes are all blue U/R:2 card combo(twin/breach) U/W: control U/B: storm U/G: big value while the non blue 2 color barely have anything so to say that almost all decks ends up blue is not a bad thing, and not the thing to focus on. rather then looking at each color drafted, it is the color combinations that should be looked at
I love watching LSV's draft videos, my only criticism is the delay. It isn't enough to make me not watch but its sometimes annoying when something cool happens and I hear his reaction before seeing what actually happened.
Man, the way you build the decks and explain your thought proces, is really impressive and makes it so fun to watch as a cube noob like me. Though I am a Legacy player, but still..
Despite how much I think drafting blue is stale, I like that you actually address and justify a common comment that most people post. While I do agree every blue deck does no play out the same way some of the picks become stagnant. Snapcaster, JTMS, Mana drain, Mulldrifter, Mystic confluence, Cryptic command, counterspell. Those are only a few examples of the “it got passed to me, now I’m playing blue”
"I know none of you watch this for discipline." It can be entertaining to see wonky decks, but I also like watching you draft the best thing possible and seeing the sweetest deck you can assemble.
my favourite thing about this whole video, is LSV playing out Thoughtsieze G1 T1 on the offchance that they were a green deck with a noble in hand, and he nailed it. He can't keep getting away with it!
Do people complain about LSV drafting blue? Its LSV, why are they watching if they want a different kind of draft? Please keep doing what you marvellously do LSV
Me: "Could you not pick the Oko?" Lsv: "You're watching my video! You don't want Oko you can go find another Vintage Cube draft." Me: "Man, it's been a really long day and I hate fucking Oko."
The Fatal Push punt is interesting - it probably shows that we basically shortcut Phyrexian mana as nonexistent in our brains. Porcelain Legionnaire has a CMC of 3 but reeeeaaaally it only costs 2.
Lol you don’t have to defend drafting blue everyone knows it’s a powerful strategy even if you’re not mono blue. Anyone who says others probably isn’t worth your time worrying about what they think. As always I appreciate the free content, love u and the rest of the cfb team.
Pretty hard to argue with this draft and it's results. P1P1 Counterspell because there are no other first pickable cards in the pack, and go from there. Deck was comparatively fair compared to many, but goddam was it good and consistent. Not many decks could recover from basically throwing away a Fatal Push and an Oko against a good Boros draw.
I'm glad you didn't go storm. Storming every once in a while is ok, but it seems to me it always plays the same way, a sort of solitaire very dependent on how you draw. I'm a sucker for old fashioned ValueTown, I destroy your stuff and play my big stuff and it's fun and interactive :D Anyway you do you, watching your videos is always a pleasure ^^
@@swiftdragonrider yeah I think this shows that pretty well. Interesting as dack always seemed like one of the best (still is ) and even such oko is still probably a league above .
Think your mana base could have been better. Instead of 11 blue sources and 10 black. Seems 12:9 better. Only one double black card and how many double blue spells?
One thing that always impresses me when I watch LSV play any format, is his ability to instantly find the "worst case scenario" like the toughest set of cards his opponent could have.
Is anybody finding an issue with the video lagging behind the audio by almost a full second?
Yeah, I've noticed that on all of LSV's recent videos to this channel.
Me too. Though it’s better than it could be. I remember a Reid Duke video where the audio was about an hour behind the video... 😂😂😂
yep...
All I'm saying is it would be nice to see audio and video in sync. It's not minute; it's annoying honestly. (I know LSV does not intend to do this purposefully, let alone anyone on the CFB Team.)
yes and it seemed to get worse the longer the video went, but maybe that's just me

a big reason blue is in most cube decks is because it is a splash color.
the other 4 colors got some kind of identity and arcetype that is mono colored
green:ramp
red: burn
white: white weenie
black: combo(reanimator/storm)
but blue don't have that, the closest archetype identity blue has is control. but you rarely see mono blue control, while the other 4 monocolor archetypes show up a fair bit.
but when you look at 2 color the most common archetypes are all blue
U/R:2 card combo(twin/breach)
