Smeagol the Vile Lsv once played a Storm deck where he left Tendrils in the sideboard just to prove the point that he didnt need Tendrils.
You got the story wrong there: he forgot to put the Tendrils in his sideboard, but every time he cast a Burning Wish his opponent would just concede without making him show them the Tendrils
Kalyan Manning The story you are talkin about happened at a live event, i was referring to a cube draft he did on twitch or YT.
Kevin is correct. LSV believes the key to storm is the engine and not the win con. He played storm, drafted tendrils and put in the sideboard to stay. He then won out with Emrakul as his win con.

Cheon = Paul Cheon, former pro player/streamer now working for Wizards (great guy), and one of LSV's closest friends. LSV has an history making fun and sending jabs at him whenever he can, so when he saw that pack with only crap cards in it, he said "these cards are all cheons"

There is one great thing about Vintage Cube, no need to worry about going up against Mr. LSV because obviously he's going to be running a storm deck that didn't entirely get there ^^ … one less thing to worry about. Tnx for sharing, quite entertaining :)

Why does LSV keep taking lands and directly passing on cards like Cryptic, Verdict, Jace, Liliana, etc.?
Manabase is so important. It doesnt matter how good of cards you drafted if you cant cast them
Oh LSV, every time you take a pick, it's the exact pick I would have taken if I were in the same spot. And then you proceed to lose as catastrophically as I would have. Thanks for the great content and of course, thanks for the laughs.

How is Eureka so bad when you have Grisel+Ulamog already? Yes I know Eureka helps the other player but so does Heartbeat and it would have been great against your first opponent. And is splashing red for Mana Flare really worthwhile? Finally how is Bargain a bad card but Griselbrand a first pick? They are almost the same card!

'storm is rough without power'. If you can win with 'no win con storm' I think you'll be fine without power..
Without power, it doesn't matter what you can do since you can't do it fast enough before you're dead. With power, you can just roll everything out so fast your opponent scoops before they realize you don't actually have a way to win.
Oh wait i get it. You use channel to build up a fireball then kill your opponent.
Seems like it would have been a pretty fun draft if you hadn't switched to Storm :(
1st picking Heartbeat and 2nd picking Mana Flare seems so bad...if those cards don't wheel, someone else is drafting storm, if two people are drafting storm, your storm deck is poo.

Honestly, I scour all of these vintage cube drafts and attempt to skip all of the storm ones. I was excited by the first few oicks, but as always, I was disappointed. I Hate Storm!
Horrible, horrible draft. Always forcing bad storm decks when better alternatives are available. It has become quite boring.
