My take about the metagame is that you shouldn't rush it into a linear railroady path, but as a macguffiny hook while the other more personal stakes happen. I think they put it in the base game so that people content with it would have some kind of epic resolution, but the problem with that is that players who rush that ending will have to keep on waiting for Ad Astra, the supplement set in space which hasn't even been released in Swedish still. I think the idea is that you're not supposed to rush it but let things happen organically in your table, whether you use the supplements or not, if you want the game to last, you should focus on the more personal, everyday stuff in the ark and the zone and the interaction with other groups of ghouls, mutant animals, mutants, robots and unmutated humans, and only advancing the Eden plot every so often until you can resolve it with a set of PCs hopefully closer to the time you get your hands on the Gray death campaign or And Astra supplement.
An excellent video, thank you for sharing this and the previous one. I’m looking into running Mutant Year Zero in the next couple of months and am working on a campaign right now. I agree with your views on the meta-plot entirely which is why I’m rewriting it in respect of taking the core bones and making it my own.
I found the Meta game just a campaign I once played the game where we all have GM’s or will have finished the main story so we just sort of did own thing

Good take.

Hey thanks for watching! I’ve got part 3 recorded, finding time to edit has been tough!
Thanks for the very informative review and for delving into the metaplot!
You’re welcome.
