The crawling under a broken moon comes from Thundar the Barbarian cartoon. Maybe the greatest 80’s cartoon ever.
Blackstar is fun if you like thundarr.
Came here to write this.
Ariel ookla RIIIIIIIIIDE!
Yes, i recall when i was a kid watching that and it was so unique and weird, it was the one i looked forward to seeing on Saturday. But it had a lot of disconcerting stuff going on. Lol
Like Janus, for some reason it always freaked me out pondering that the guys head changed around and he had one kinda "nice" guy and the other was psycho. Lol
I appreciate the mutations in MCC, but for some reason I like the classes and the mix of sci-fi, fantasy, and magic in Umerican's post-apocalyptic setting. Along with it's dash of comic satire.
The tacitcal frogs being frogman, classic double entendre haha
Thank you so much for showing me the system!
My friends and I had a blast with Sailors on the starless sea, yesterday!
That's great!! Game on my friend!
This looks amazing, and it harkens back to my Post-Apocalyptic gaming days of the 1980’s.
By the way Jorphdan, I must commend you on your video subjects lately. These reviews and commentaries on OSR games are a welcome respite from the nonsense that Hazards-Of-The-Bro has been putting out lately.
Thanks for the effort.
Glad you enjoy them
It's so cool that Goodman Games are now going to publish and distribute the Umerican Survival Guide in proper offset hardback. 😊
I'm really excited about this! I got into DCC later than most, and POD books can leave a lot to be desired.
Thanks for doing this. I’ve been he hawing about getting this for months. I’m a big fan of Gamma World.
Hubris is an awesome setting!!
Thank you for this video I didn't know this existed I'm ordering it ASAP
Hope you like it!
You'd really like the ultraviolet grasslands if you dig this sorta gamma world vibes
I have it! Friend got it for my birthday, and yes it's amazing!
I really want a physical book of that!
I think I just found my new favorite RPG setting. Thank you for talking about it! This will be amazing to run if I can ever get my players to try it!
I hope you can get your players on board!
I ran the “damn tasty” module a while back. It was hilarious and fun. There is also a pretty easy way to bend it to Kamandi/ Planet of the apes/ flavor - really it’s so elastic you could even find yourself a prisoner of the Dairy Queen in her ice cream mountains of madness. It really depends on what you want to do with it. I love the idea of a Saturday Morning cartoon and Evil dead mashup - scooby Doo with chainsaws! It goes way beyond the Mad Max dust bowl stuff.
I'm totally geeked about this game. I'm planning on combining some of the lore with the AADA books from the '80s from Steve Jackson Games.
Nice!
Thank you for the video. I bought the Umerica survival guide but after your video, I'm going to have to buy the other books I'm missing. I love the gonzoness of the setting and would love to run a campaign taking place in my home state and then allowing the players to adventure into other states fleshing out the entire US.
Getting a Rifts feel from the game
Post apocalyptic gonzo settings are the best. WITNESS MEEEEEEEEE!
Does anyone know where he got his "Lands of Umerica" map? I have bought most of the material books but haven't found it in those.
You have my laser sword, and my compound bow, and my titanium 🪓 axe!
When’s the stream?
If you want to base a god after social media, name it Likes, since that is what everyone wants on social media. Maybe have one of it's aspects as vanity?
Really love the idea of these books. I am looks. I am certainly going to look into at least doing a to at least doing a couple one shots with a few of my friends
Where...did...that..map..come..from?
I just started a campaign in Umerica.
It was in the Umerica Road Atlas!
can you do a video on the noew kickstarter dying earth?
I'd like too, I don't have much info and I don't know if they'd like that to be released. Maybe closer to it's release
Jorphdan, please man talk about Tunnels and trolls Deluxe, I am very interested in it and there is not alot of sources about it or good quality videos :(
I had not heard of it but picked up the PDF! I'll see what's up
@@JocularJunction wow, you are truly a blessing ❤️❤️ good luck buddy!
Maybe your patron could be the Almighty Lykeh, Lord of Self-Gratification or something like that.
Umerica is basically Monsters of Murca (which I love). I just don't yet know what Dungeon Crawl Classics really is.
we have no livestream of a campaign
I have not run or played an Umerica game. I'll add it to the description of I do!
There’s an Umerica campaign on the Goodman Games stream on alternating Saturday nights. Ridiculous setting in all the best ways!
Newtypes!? Jorphdan are you a Gundam fan?
why yes, yes I am
@@JocularJunction That's kind of epic! Of all the things I thought I'd bump into while researching DCC content I never thought a Gundam reference would be one of them
How are the Psionics rules?
I haven't tried them actually, but worth checking out.
@@JocularJunction I have Umerica Unnatural on the way, from the PDF they look cool. I'm a sucker for Psionics rules.
Wouldn't there be a Patreon Patron?
that would be pretty freaking hilarious. You have to give money to your Patreon Patron. The amount you give monthly determines the power level of spells you receive! 😂😂😂
@@JocularJunction Or you could be rewarded for stretch goals: the longer you go without resting, the more rewards you get.
I don't think I would have any interest in playing Umerica but I don't have any problem with its existence. Some people will enjoy it so power to them, I'm not going to stand on my porch and shout "Damn Kids, get offa ma lawn!" 😊
I guess it does show how much RPG settings / modules / adventures / variants have exploded over the last couple of years. There are sooo many KS and crowdfunders out there for 5e and countless other systems. I do wonder if the diversity is fracturing the hobby but given the fan-base is growing so much it could be all the various segments are expanding all the same.
I think a cool thing about TTRPGs is how the community is almost _made_ to be fractured. Sure, there’s a certain amount of consensus with things like conventions, publishing, etc… but all you _really_ need is three or four people (or fewer!) and you can run your own weird adventures in your own weird settings with your own weird rules for *years* and have a great time. No one needs to bless what you’re doing, or even know about it. There’s as much or as little community as you want, and you can build your own small community around your table.
You should play Rifts by Palladium, better yet, try Pinnacle's adaptation, Savage Rifts. It's post apocalyptic set in North America.
im not a fan of post apocalyptic themes so i'll have to miss out on this one, watched it through and still not quite interested but it doesn't _detract_ from DCC IMO
