The Academy Titanic kit seems identical to the Airfix 1:400th Titanic kit, even the display base and RMS Titanic name plaque are the same. I have the Airfix kit, but I haven't started building it yet. I also have a lovely wee Eaglemoss model of the original Star Trek Enterprise, beautifully detailed for such a small model.
Yes, I believe that the Airfix kit and the Academy kit are from the same mold. I will actually be doing a video on the 1:400 scale Airfix TITANIC soon. That Eaglemoss model of the U.S.S. Enterprise sounds very nice! =-)

I built this model, jerry. I done and entire series on her if you want to watch. Also sorry bout your box, that pisees me off! Also jerry you can detail a 1\400 model up as good as a 1\350 model, I did mine and she looks like the real ship.
You know, I actually prefer the Minicraft 1/350 kit. I like the detail more. Add an wood deck and my light kit and I think it will be better than the 1/400 Academy. Maybe because of the price. I think the Academy model is so over priced.
I used to have a small one of these but I lost like 90 percent of those tiny pieces while building it. Whole thing eventually warped and fell apart after a few months so I had to chuck it out.

Hello my friend, to answer your question, the beauty of this model is that it does come with a lot of the accessories. The only thing that is really needed is the glue. I use either "Super Glue" or "Plastruct Bondene" for my plastic models. This model also is molded in the color of the ship. So if you choose not to paint it, you do not have to to make it look good. It has the accessories like the wood decks as well. You will need patience for this kit as it is large but more the most part, everything but the glue is included. I hope this helped. The dome covers I think are called skylights

Looks very similar to the one I have only I had to paint mine, it had no lights and everything was plastic.

I am not sure I understand your question. This kit does not come with motors to rotate the propellers. Is that what you mean?
