Wow, some great tips from watching the vid, many thanks for posting. I'm looking forward to seeing how you illuminate the upper decks and maybe I can replicate that on my Airfix 1/400
You did a great job with the lighting! I'm not sure about the use of gloss black for the hull though. A flat/matt black would give a much more realistic appearance.
Yes, on hindsight a flat black would have been better. Honestly can't remember why I went with the gloss.. Though, I still think it looks good on the shelf :)
I, for the most part, use Tamiya and the main colours for the hull - hull red, black, flat white. For the top sections - wooden deck tan, faded yellow , black , flat white and tan.
Very nice videos. I bought this set and am planning to install lights aswell. What was the blue putty you used to block the leaks under the decks? Is it necessary to paint the hull on the inside? Does the light really get trough if you dont paint?
I picked this kit up today in Dublin and I'm going to be following your steps u did an amazing job on her.
Best of luck, it's a difficult one, but rewarding.

Thanks Russ, I don't think I'm going to need to light the upper decks because the LEDs in the hull are bright enough to light the whole thing.

satin black paint for the hull . In the middle of semi gloss & Flat , Just a little shem.
Can I get a list of paints that you use? I love the way your model came out, and would love for mine to look similar. Thank you, and job well done!

strips of insulating tape, so much easier. Absolutely, if you want to light it, you must block it first
This is some depressing music for a more energized build... Is this just your favorite genera or is it just random music you selected? I am intrigued
I thought it was apt, historically. But yes after uploading I felt it was a bit too bleak. I'll be changing it for the next part.
