  • The Tech 21 Steve Harris SH1 Signature SansAmp features all-analog SansAmp technology, two-channel modes with individual Gain and Level controls, Blend, 4-band active EQ, and a Bite switch to activate a “Steve” boost for extra clank and clarity. Other features include a chromatic tuner and an XLR Output to go direct to the PA desk or studio board. Here's Dan Veall with the full breakdown.

    Channel 2 (more gain):
    0:00
    2:18 amp only
    2:49 amp + pedal
    3:20 pedal only
    Channel 1 (less gain):
    8:25
    9:15 less mids
    9:39 bite off
    10:04 bite off
10:47 bite off, speaker emulation off
11:16 bite off, speaker emulation off, more mids
    Channel 2 (more gain):
12:34 bite off, speaker emulation off, a little bit more level
    -------------------
2:18 is similar to 11:16 so when the spk emulation and the bite functions are off, the pedal sounds more natural

Excellent review, a lot of reviewers are extremely annoying and focus more on channel promotion rather than the review. Not so here, well done.

One question, with SH1 pedal would it be necessary to add a compressor pedal?
Or the SH1 already adds some compression and it wouldn't be necessary?
    Thank you very much!!
    Best regards!!

If you're trying to show an SH sound, you should back off the gain. Steve doesn't go for the distortion in his sound.
