  • Sorry guys! bout one week late… I got the Duramaxtransfer case installed on the Allison transmission. Brand new gaskets fit up great!
    Having a terrible time with the driveshaft’s front and rear… Hopefully I can find a shop or someone who can custom make both for me, because I cannot find any online… If anybody has one online please let me know.

    It is looking good man. I think you should powder coat your PPE brace.

    You have the right idea on the front drive shaft. That is exactly what I did to relocate the pillow block mount and make it so the front drive shaft would fit around a Cummins 12 valve. I had a 1/4 inch steel plate cut that matched the width and added about 1 1/2" length to bolt the pillow block lower. I used the top hole and the bottom hole in the bracket to mount the plate. Use a chamfer flush mount bolt on the lower hole so the pillow block can sit on it. Redrill the holes in the bracket and plate to mount the new pillow block location that allows the shaft to fit and clear. You can weld the plate on the bracket if you desire. I suggest mounting the front shafts to the differential and trans case to insure the fit and clearance when marking the new holes and determining how long a plate you will need. You can use the yoke from the Allison transfer case. Since the rear drive shaft has to be cut down and shortened, have an end cap that fits the new yoke welded onto the shaft and rebalance it. That is also what I had to do to fit the rear of my Cummins conversion to a 241DHD transfer case. I haven't fitted my fuel tank back in the truck yet, but since I didn't use the Allison, I may be able to put the main tank back in. I bought a military Humvee auxiliary fuel tank to use on mine that goes behind the rear differential and in front of the rear airlift bumper. If I don't use it and you find you can't get your fuel tank to fit, let me know...it is a new unit.

      This is awesome advice! Yeah that’s what I was kind of thinking to do just move the carrier bearing down some and just see if I can get on the Front driveshaft to lineup. That’s also a great idea about getting a auxiliary tank I’m gonna try to use the original one if I possibly can I’ll just have to see. Thanks

    Hey like all your videos, man….i have a 1165 i’ve been working on and going back to your videos and see how you did things… so on the old harness if you don’t take out some of the connections that you don’t need will it causing any problems I see that you took yours out just wanna ask if you didn’t take those out. Would it cause any problems??? Thanks

      Yes, I got rid of all the old connections that I didn’t need. The only reason it’s not Harmful is pcm got Reflashed so all those codes are deleted therefore I could delete them

    Hello brother great video but was wondering if you could help me out I have my 2003 duramax crew cab 2500hd and it has a 263XHD transfer case that is no longer with us lol and was wonder what other transfer case would work with my Allison trans and also I see you have a manual transfer case set up how do you make that work if it’s electric? How are you gonna tune it so the tcm isn’t looking for 4hi and 4low and 2hi thanks 🙏

    • @SplitBuilds
      @SplitBuilds  ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m not sure the exact transfer cases. My old Silverado is a WT work truck model and had a manual T case. I’m using the manual T case in the humvee since it has very few electronic parts. If I recall mine T case 2500 (my donor truck) had a 242 T case. You’ll have to swap wiring harnesses if going from electric to manual T case or bypass it somehow

    great video as usual
    I have a question please
    the plate you put above the transfer case
    is it for a decorations reason

    • @SplitBuilds
      @SplitBuilds  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It is very decorative, but it is a structure additive plate. Gives extreme support to the transfer case under lots of HP. Definitely beneficial. some people even say it’s one of the best things that you can do for a transfer case.

      The main purpose of that piece is to relieve the stress on the 4wd output housing, which is well known for crack and cause oil leaks on those Allison 1000pk transmission.
