I remember seeing that movie when it first came out, back in my youth. When my wife and I heard of Sean Connery's passing, I mentioned this movie to her, but she'd never heard of it (she is from the Philippines), so we decided to watch it that night. She enjoyed it, and said that of all the actors who portrayed James Bond, Sean Connery was the sexiest. I suspect there's a lot of women, young and old, who'd agree with her.
All Sean Connery performances are top performances. Picking favorites is difficult. With Sean Connery, as with Michael Caine, there are no bad performances to mock, only treasured gems to cherish. Sean Connery is still my favorite James Bond. Here endeth the lesson.

No one ever mentions his truly greatest performance as the troubled police inspector in Sidney Lumet's masterpiece "The Offence". Also essential viewing, another Sidney Lumet film "The Hill". Superb film with unbelievable performances from everyone in both films.
Totally agree, a brilliant gritty performance, took his acting skills to a different level. When people are asked what was his greatest film they usually turf out bond, October, etc , but never a out his greatest actual performance? The Offence , to me was oscar winning stuff!

I think he was pretty well in "The Hill" and "The Offence" both by Sidney Lumet. They really deserve an honorable mentions. Now, put "The Name of the Rose" in an "honorable mention"? and put "Entrapment" in the "top 10", really?! I think the list and him deserved more, talking about his acting skills not only his "obvius roles".
Hammy roles like Entrapment and First Knight make the list? A Bridge Too Far, Finding Forrester and War of the Roses merely glossed over and The Hill, Great Train Robbery, The Offense, Outland and Just Cause not even mentioned?
I agree Entrapment is such a lame movie, and First Knight IS hammy, but less so on Sean's end. It's a pretty iconic role for him as King Arthur, Richard Gere and his slow-motion "tough guy" breathing really ruined the realism for me. Otherwise, it's a pretty awesome depiction of Camelot. Honorable mention to his cameo in Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves as King Richard
As part of my top ten I would choose his part in "The Hill" as a sergeant major who saved his troops and his lieutenant, and went on to save his fellow prisoners.
League of Extraordinary Gentlemen isn't on the list either. My favorite is his portrayal of King Arthur in "First Knight" though. I am too young to really remember him as James Bond. That is saying a lot about the length of his career and the number of movies that he made though because I am in my 50's. He will definitely be missed--RIP.
IKR? He was also good in the Albert Finney version of Murder on the Orient Express, which in my opinion, is the superior adaptation of the book. Shame that they didn’t do more of Agatha Christie’s work with Finney.
Great selections. Very happy to see that the "James Bond" series was selected as #1. Having grown up with Pierce Brosnan as my favourite Bond, I have to say that Sean Connery is now my favourite Bond followed by Brosnan. Connery's performances were excellent, especially in Thunderball and You Only Live Twice. Absolutely loved his funny "one-liner's" throughout his Bond career. One that comes to mind is in Thunderball when he harpoons that villain to the tree and responds: "I think he got the point." Love it
I loved in The Last Crusade. That is the movie that got me into liking Sir Sean Connery. The chemistry between him, and Indiana was what made the film great.

I liked Sean Connery’s mini-role as King Agamemnon in Time Bandits, plus his brief appearance as a fireman at the end of the movie. Connery added a touch of class that elevated that film from a fantasy to an epic.

I loved in The Last Crusade. That is the movie that got me into liking Sir Sean Connery.
The chemistry between him, and Indiana was what made the film great.
King Arthur again in Robin Hood, and my fav. Connery performance of all time... Draco from Dragonheart! that movie is an underrated masterpiece!! his voice is just perfect for a dragon!

Sad to hear that this legendary actor had passed away. Sean Connery was the best James Bond, bar none. He was also perfectly cast as Indiana Jones' dad. RIP Mr. Connery. 🙏❤️

To me, personally, after James Bond Sean's greatest role is William of Baskerville in The Name of the Rose. I know tons of wise quotes by one of the most intelligent, philosophical, independent characters he ever played.

As much as he brought honor to the Bond legacy, Sir Sean Connery's legacy was secured in all of his films. I, for one, won't ever stop remembering him in First Knight, Indiana Jones & The Last Crusade, The Rock, The Highlander, and The Hunt For Red October. In the end, there could be only one Sir Sean Connery. May he rest in peace.
I liked Sean Connery’s mini-role as King Agamemnon in Time Bandits, plus his brief appearance as a fireman at the end of the movie. Connery added a touch of class that elevated that film from a fantasy to an epic.

The final scene in the Molly McQuires with Richard Harris was awesome. It's my favorite seen. The Great Train Robbery was great.
