• Closing thoughts:
o On wrist - Wears surprisingly a lot like my SBDC101 (SPB143), so very well balanced both physically and visually, although spec-wise a lot more comparable to my SJE101 Marinemaster
o Model Variants - Also available with your choice of a 3-link Rivet-style or integrated Rubber strap
o Comparable models - It under cuts the Omega Seamaster 300 with the only objective trade-offs being an Aluminum vs. Ceramic insert and Brand prestige with Tudor forever being a value-forward Rolex alternative, while Omega is a bonified Rolex competitor (not sales-wise but in terms of historical significance)
o Bottom-line - I think this will be a smash hit with both the enthusiast and casual markets, when the original ETA powered Black Bays were introduced many hoped for an eventual non-patina, monochromatic variation and all of these years later, its finally here
A great default choice for both the young professional, as well as the seasoned collectors, Tudor continues to live in a sweet spot spread across the broad market

Not luxury? Semantics of the word “luxury” aside, I don’t think anyone could accurately (or reasonably) call a $5000 watch anything but luxury. That aside, really enjoyed the video.
Luxury isn't the pinnacle in quality for me, so it's not like it doesn't rank. A sports car can cost more than a luxury car, so it's not as much about price as it is about purpose.
@@AverageBros luxury doesn’t equal quality for me either. The price does. The intended purpose of this watch is not as a tool, as the price indicates. It’s a luxury item through and through.
@@knight0924 there are G- Shocks that cost $4K that I don't consider luxury either, to me it's not just price. This is a simple steel watch with no complications or complex finishes. It's still very premium and high quality but there's nothing really luxurious about it to me. Other than the price point, as you mentioned.
Well-written. Anyone willing and able to buy a $5k watch knows its a luxury purchase, Tudor is very much a luxury watch brand. And a very, very well built watch and in my eyes, worth the purchase price.

Another great, enjoyable video, Mark. Your critiques were fair. In terms of looks, those two Seikos shown give the Black Bay a run for its money. The new refined BB41s aren’t for me, yet I’m aware these models will make a lot of people happy.

Thanks for the excellent review. The Tudor Black Bay at 40.5 is going to sell briskly with those specs. I do prefer the styling of your 39mm MM300. For me, an ideal 40mm luxury timepiece would be perhaps The Citizen Eco-Drive Tosa Washi Black Ref. AQ4091-56E.

Love everything about this watch and I’m currently saving for it, but I really wish the seconds hand was the diamond and not the bubble. Otherwise perfect imo.

So glad they go with 40,5mm. I'm so fed up with those who say it's too thick. Obviously, they don't own the watch and seem unable to realize what a domed crystal is.
i have this Tudor but I have to say the seiko looks fantastic actually as good as the Tudor
The only drawback of the Seiko is that it is much less precise than the Tudor. But the price is also very different.
Tudor sub definitely greater movement in this watch very nice

The bubble is vintage. The distortion is a gorgeous touch.

My older Pelagos are Torch man !!!!! Same on my Pro or the BB 41 Heritage Burgundy no thank you man Tudor can keep them ! Just some updates for a T-fit but not 800€plus …..
But the Monochrome looks way better.
Looking at this side by side with the SJE101...the SJE101 has a bit more appeal for me. Looks a bit more elegant and refined and seems to sit better on the wrist. I was a bit surprised to see that. Do you have any more thoughts on a comparison to the SJE101?
I prefer the SJE101 myself, as well. Just a bit more personality IMHO, have a deeper conversation coming next weekend.
I prefer the Tudor by far. A question of taste.
I share your viewpoint. I really like this new Tudor but when you put it up against the 143/101 I couldn’t justify the extra outlay.
Seiko does so much right but for some reason I just can’t get over their poor accuracy numbers. The 6L37 movement is rated at -10 to +15 so not even meeting COSC standards.
Watches offer something for everyone though so always plenty to talk about.
My favorite Tudor yet. Still won't get it. I have the microbrand bug, and anything over 2k borderline seems like a scam. And I've owned multiple Swiss 5k + watches in the past.
I’ve owned Rolex watches for about 30 years. I gotta say, I mostly only care about collecting Tudors these days.
What is interesting is that we have here a Tudor which is superior to the 5-figure Rolexes. This BB is at least as good as a 14060m but more precise and with a better bracelet and a better power reserve.

Sorry man but if that’s the original sound of the bezel ! Rather go /stick with my oldie Burgundy awesome precise less than 1 second bought on 22 and still got the rhythm man plus the bezel sounds less noise and kind ( in my 🧐) spy eye ear mine it’s spotless man smooth not noisy plus at 12 click on spotless only the T-fit but got my Tudor Pro nothing special but yes it’s much better than the old school clasp mate !!!! My opinion if it was on blue dial on the Jubilee strap yeahhh even that rather prefer the oyster style bracelet man !!! 😉😎 in my own opinion!

Tudor listened and they gave us what we wanted...a gilt free watch. However, in typical Tudor fashion, they always seem to intentionally come short. A little bit of red text on the dial wouldv'e balanced it out more and less monochromatic.
