Shortly after making the videos, Trace found himself a wonderful woman. They moved to Montana to be close to her parents. The van now sits behind a shed in Minnesota. I hope to one day have it sitting in my garage. I'd love to build it out!
There great to do a conversion in. They already have cabinets, place for batteries, propane boxed area, & lots of storage. It's awesome. B safe in u travels.
Congrats on the vehicle. Looking forward to seeing the progress. One of the nice things about this lifestyle... a million different ways to do this.. Stay safe guys..
Whew! Kenny's a TC'er for life! That definitely put a smile on my face LoL!! That's what I say about myself. I'm on my 3rd TC and absolutely love them. Best of luck to your friend. I hope he enjoys full-timing and his channel does great. I'm sure you'll keep us posted during the build out. Cheers! ~M
That van is so cool. Definitely rare to see a 4x4. It looks like a Dana 60 front axle. This thing has some serious potential. Can’t wait to see this build unfold!
Wow, what a great find and it looks like it has so much potential! I’ll have to go look his channel up now, see how far you both have come with the build. Awesome to see someone want to repurpose something like that for such a good opportunity. Take care, safe travels.
Trace found himself a lady and followed her back to Montana. The van has been parked in Minnesota for 2 years now. Maybe I'll pick it up from him one day. Unfortunately, he never got the channel going.....or the van build
Hopefully one day Trace gets back to the Ambulance. He has found a lady friend and settled down in Montana. The ambulance and his TH-cam channel are put on hold for now. It's amazing how much things can change in a blink of an eye.
Watch quite a few ambulance tour videos to see what they did. I've seen at least 6 variations. Congrats to Trace. I have property in Arkansas he can camp on. Tell him to hit me up.
It was 3500 dollars. He ended up finding a lady friend and they bought a house together. The dreams of batchler life on the open road is over. The Ambo now sits behind the garage. I'm hoping to take it off his hands one day. It would make an awesome camper to beat down the forest roads.
Well, today you get Kind OR Honest- which is it to be, Trace? Jes kiddin'! Good on Ya for grabbing life by the horns and buying a 4 by 4 Bambulance! Check out David over at The Campulance Man- he's a jerk, but his dog Leftie is AWESOME! He's 'doing the do' in an ambulance, currently in CO or UT, but- moving south for less snow & higher temps too. There's some great space in there- so hard to choose which way to modify it to best address what YOU want in your ride. I hope than you can convert some of the outside access into inside space without hurting the structural rigidity of box- but, Kenny, a Sawzall & a coupla ice cold brews should take car of it, right? I watched a ton of videos about those diesel heaters- they seem like an excellent value, real 'sippers' of fuel, and put out a ton heat- consistently! I think they can be acquired (right kit is a MUST!) for under $200.00 and it makes Winter Camping seem much more possible. Excellent adventure & 12 Nomads seems to be a great start- can't wait for the build out & travel. Get started, you've got a subscriber! Good luck & congrats- tough to pull the trigger, but- you HAVE! Let the games begin!
David thank you for all the tips in this message. I am excited to hear I'll have another subscriber besides forcing Kenny into subscribing as well. I'll will definitely check out. I'm currently busy and have to pass an exam come the 30th for my remote job. Then once that is done I'll have free time to do some things to the Manbulance and camping. Like Kenny said, you'll be notified on his channel when it is up and running.
Trace and I worked together for years. We used to sit in my office and talk about how cool it would be to explore everything this country has to offer. That is when I started talking to him about living full-time out of my truck camper. He has a pretty cool story of traveling abroad the last year or so. I'll let him get into it on his channel. See you again next week!
That would be an awesome combo. My favorite years for the Duramax is 2006 to 2007. Its the LBZ engine. Real durable without any emissions to clog stuff up. And Alison is the best name in transmissions. A short buss would be a fun project.
I was at his house yesterday, we installed a diesel heater in the ambulance. He had about half of his video created. It will be coming very soon. He is documenting the build along with what everything has cost him. It should be very interesting. I imagine his channel will be starting very soon. Thanks for watching!
I will have to go have a talk with him.....get him kick started. I know starting a channel can be overwhelming at first. I'll make sure he is documenting the process.
Yes. It's inevitable here. Even the new trucks on the dealer lot have rusty frames. The chemicals they put on the roads destroy our vehicles in a matter of years. This was a vehicle used I Montana most of its life. It had decals that said Jaws of life rescue vehicle.
This video was from a few years back. My buddy Trace bought the ambo, he wanted to live the vanlife seen on social media. But........he found a girl and moved out to Montana so she could be close to her family. Now, the ambo sits here in Minnesota. I'm hoping one day Trace will sell it to me, and I can make a weekend adventure rig out of it.
I believe it was 3500 bucks. That was when prices were completely insane. People were paying more than 10 grand for old 4x4 ambulances. He's moved out of state now. It sits out behind the garage of a family member house. He never got around to doing much with it. Trace, like a lot of people, wanted a taste of the vanlife movement. But it never worked out. He realized it's not as easy as it looks on TH-cam and Instagram. I would love to take it off his hands one day. I wouldn't have a lot of time to work on it. Maybe one night a week after work. But I could do something with it.
@@KennyOfAllTrades Yeah because he tried to do too much at once I think. He should've just did what he had to do to get it on the road and to pass inspection and then started living in it and working on it as he went a long and figured out what was wrong with it or what it needed to be improved on. I think he was overwhelmed and didn't have enough help from people that knew what they were doing.
@luigiprovencher8888 I agree 100% I told him the same thing. All he needed was an air mattress and a camping spot! He could have lived out of it and finished it along the way. In the meantime, he found himself a lady friend, and they moved to Montana....so now the van sits.
@luigiprovencher8888 😆 She seems like a wonderful young lady. I'm about 16 years older than Trace. So with life experiences comes a different outlook on what's important. I appreciate you watching the videos. 😆
Congratulations, Trace. My dogs and I could live in that full time. Will sub your channel.

Nice one Trace - and great video Kenny - looking forward to the updates, and the Twelfth Nomad
Great Video ,badass rig ,thanks for sharing big hugs from Cedar,Mn
Cool can’t wait to see it finished.
Looks like a great blank slate.
Congrats on the 1,000 Kenny!
Thanks! It's really exciting for me!
No way! Last time I checked about a week ago, you were at 960! That's a huge bump, congrats buddy!
BOOM! I was really shocked as well. Up to 1013 already. The TH-cam gods have smiled down on me.
1000 subs woohoo! Big milestone

@@KennyOfAllTrades LOL. I know the scenario all too well! Best of luck to him and you!
Cool video buddy! I'm trying to figure out what the heck I'm going to do for this week's video. Arghhh.
That is the tough part. Thinking about quality consistent content is exhausting. I don't know how some of the channels with daily videos do it.
@@KennyOfAllTrades those with daily channels probably have several people behind the scenes. Or they're wizards.
Probably the latter.
*MAGIC!*
I drove a Chevy 4by4 for over 30 years on Alaska. I used the four-wheel drive just a few times . I went everywhere. So no need .
Watch quite a few ambulance tour videos to see what they did. I've seen at least 6 variations. Congrats to Trace. I have property in Arkansas he can camp on. Tell him to hit me up.
He will appreciate that for sure!
Thank you.
Lesson learned guys, Hope he got the ambulance cheap
