I’m a 29 yo girl and I'm an ISTJ. I’m super organised and structure my life a lot. All my life, I worked hard, tried different things, changed careers and literally broke the walls to achieve my goals. When I wake up every morning, I always have a plan in my head what to do. Also, I adore books and can’t live without them. I’m a life-long learner, never give up, never stuck in the same routine. If I achieve some goal, I’m just seeking another one, because hey, it's boring to do the same thing day by day, even if you do it brilliantly. I’m Russian and my job is a freelance editor and writer. I write and lead writers pretty well in my native language, but guess what? As I told you, it's quite boring to do the same thing every day, so I set for myself a new goal - to become a writer in English. My goals light me up, give inspiration and a sense of meaning. My plans are such a big part of who I am and what makes me happy. Also, I enjoy so much my lonely time, sometimes I think I like it more than anything else. I can learn from morning till evening, or watch videos for my studies, or read books. Those never bore me, I just sometimes need some people to cheer me up. With relationships it was a bit complicated for me, though. Throughout my life I have met some partners who didn’t appreciate me as I am, but now it has changed. I’m in a happy relationship, and my boyfriend adores me just as I am. He meets my need to be alone, he laughs at my jokes, he supports my goals and just gives me so much love. I'm not so skilled at sharing emotions, but I really show it through actions - gifts, hugs, planning our trips, small things, you know. Like wake up first and make coffee for us, I do this day by day. Or wash the dishes, or buy some stuff for our home. And he sees these things and values them. I don't need to tell him 'I love you', he knows it. Thanks for this video, and ISTJ - we’re the best! Never give up, we can do anything in this world, I truly mean it. Hugs for everybody XOXO
Thank you guys, as confident as I am in myself and as much as I love my personality despite what anybody says, it's still really nice to see that people do appreciate it and do see what we have to offer.
I'm an ISTJ woman and I've been struggling a lot with my Si and Fi. I'm very immature with my feelings, many times I just put Te aside (not on purpouse, of course, I wish I could use my Te more while in this loop) and I enter on a anxious / depressing loop between Si and Fi. I end up thinking a lot about my past and regretting my actions, thinking about the details that made me suffer or made me happy, and Fi makes it hurt a lot. When I get stuck into this loop is very hard to get out and put Te into action, but eventally I always do, doesn't matter how much time I've spent on the loop. This loop is the most uncomfortable thing that I can feel. About Ne aux, it's indeed not that comfortable for me to experience new things, but when I allow myself, most of the times it ends up being very fun. Normally other people pushes me into these novelties, I rarely do this by myself lol. I struggle even about thinking of travelling, when I really need to do it I act 100% with my Te, but I always feel insecure that things may go wrong. Another reason for anxiety lol. But it doesn't mean I don't want new experiences, I want these a lot, but I feel very insecure about actually doing it. It makes me feel better when I have information about new thing I'll be doing or getting (example, when I go travelling to a place I don't know, I search every single detail about this place. The safety of the place, how the streets are, how expensive are the things there, if I can talk to people without being misunderstood, well... that makes me feel much safer lol) Si and Te makes me work very efficiently about the things that I already know how it works. When I'm totally comfortable with the situation, I feel very confident about it and it's the max level of comfort that I can feel. I like to guide others for doing things that I already consider it's the right way. Of course there are some things I've already done in the past that I didn't like, but these make my Te instantly says "no" to it haha. Te doesn't even think much.
My (ESFJ) husband is an ISTJ and I LOVE his type. So reliable, so organized, so freaking stable. He is also so much fun to be around and has a sharp sense of humor. When it's just he and I he is so goofy. He is also an amazing dad. If he had one thing to change it would be being more open minded, however he is giving enough with his understanding.
I’m married to an ISTJ and I am one happy girl. ISTJ men are so irresistible, to me at least because I love mature responsible men, and I hit the jackpot. Yet, he loves adventure and he knows how to get it all done, I mean everything they do they do well, everything 😉 They are very very interesting. I am an INFJ, and I can be overly emotional but he grounds me!
I found myself similar to INTJ, INTP, and also ISTJ. I was devastated finding my type. I think it's the time to think myself as an ISTJ. Thanks for your work on this.
Many ISTJ adults have spent their lives trying to enlighten others or warn others around them who don't listen, ridicule them or dismiss them as conspiracy theorists. People also dismiss them because they don't keep up with trends, are socially awkward or have a lot of "followers" on social media since they're private people. They are exhausted from trying to expose uncommonly known facts. The ISTJ knows history so well that they recognize when sh*t is about to hit the fan, so they've said F everyone who didn't heed my warning, it's too late. And they're now in their bunker stockpiling and preparing for the worst. ISTJ is kind of like the GIVER in the book by Lois Lowry, holding all the experiences of the past, warning people in the present to prepare for possible outcomes in the future. Feeling separate from the general population who is too distracted by trends/norms to recognize nor prepare against imminent threats. It's important to note, that while ISTJs are "traditionalists/by the book" if they recognize something happening that is similar to a historical event or something they don't find logical even though it's a "law, company policy, order from an authority figure, etc." they will speak out against it because they want to warn others that if that law/policy is enforced, it will result in a negative outcome.
This is probably the only times I get extremely frustrated is when people don't listen or dismiss it because they think you don't know what you're talking about when really I don't usually open my mouth unless I know the facts already or have thought something through and through
Just came across you two today. Appreciated your love-in for ISTJs. This week I will be 76 years young. YES, 76 Trombones... Will you need to Google that? Hope not. For decades I thought I was INFJ, but last year I studied 2 of Linda Berens' booklets and many other sources, and learned I am ISTJ, which was a surprise. I have a speech impediment and mild CP, but that shouldn't bother us. HOW MAY I ANSWER YOUR SURVEY? Thank you.
Wow, I think it's the first time I've seen ISTJs described correctly. And I'm not talking about all the nice things (thank for those tho), just the description of our functions, esp. our individualistic nature. Every time I hear we're mindless drones who follow the traditions because they're traditions I just laugh my ass off. There's nothing further from freedom than being a contrarian 👌🏻 I'm an ISTJ sf writer, if you need my help, message me :)
So true, I'm happy with my life and simply can't answer stupid questions about my ambitions at work within 3 or 5 years.. but managers don't appreciate it. Good employers should be ambitious, not happy where they are... I'm just going with the flow and if a nice chance comes up I might just take it. I also have a hobby where I indeed can be a little crazy and come back to adulting lol. I am a role player in (military)police training, which includes roles like people flipping, people with mental problems. I get arrested and yelled at. I love it because it's not real and I can behave like I usually don't. It works best if I get a few tips how to do it, because I can't make it up completely myself though.
I love the ISTJs I've known as that type to death! My first girlfriend (long-distance) was an ISTJ and she was very cute and fun. She was big into the music scene so we'd talk about music alot. She actually went out with me against her parents' wishes because they didn't want her to date till she was 16. Another one I've known as ISTJ was a coworker at Walmart and he had a great sense of humor. But boy could he spot a deviance from the standard a million miles away. He would point out when a parking lot light was out to the manager and so forth. lol. I think Matt Saracen from Friday Night Lights is probably an ISTJ, just because of his basic personality, and he was also an artist, which is interesting. I wonder how many Si doms are artists or creative. My ISFJ wife is pretty creative herself. Si doms are not boring at all. You just have to get to know them.
You basically just described me with the Walmart thing. I have worked at Walmart since I was 16 (i’m 18 now) and I am know for being brutally honest, super funny, and noticing every detail. I see when a bottle of shampoo is half a millimeter from the edge of a shelf and fix it. I see that topstock is disorganized and I tell the SM. The other day I was talking to a coworker and we were talking about someone having a baby and I said “I hate when straight people say ‘We are trying to get pregnant,’ just say you are fucking!” Im always brutally honest and sometimes people cant handle but oh well.
And thank you very much for this video, since that is what I needed to hear so badly. I texted with a girl, we phoned and even videochatted for a really long time and I got really attached to her. But then she lost interest right when I finally wanted to bring up the courage to meet her in person, because she finds me boring and probably weak for my ISTJ traits and I felt so much like a total failure. Now I realize, that our types were probably just not compatible and I thank you so so much, that you showed me, that my ability to foretell an outcome or to create security is still valued by some people. Now I feel a little less like a total failure. Thank you very, very much.
Me (ISTJ) watching this video: ugh this is so interesting but I have work to do!!! XD Thank you for your kind words and information! Can't wait to check out your other videos and learn more! I definitely feel like I know who I am as a person but I contradict I guess in questioning reality (not all the traits have to follow exact like you said) I'm glad not everyone thinks we are boring😹 I find myself quite interesting but it's nice to feel validated :) I will have to come back here once I learn more about functions! You ladies are awesome, have a great day!
I am a ISTJ-A. It is so difficult to break away from the tremendous self-restraint to meet a woman. I'd always hope that as a "Turtle" a woman would notice me to find a stick & poke my shell.
I've just found your channel, trying to learn about myself and how to be interactive in the world and I relate so hard to your examples in INFJ however I see myself processing as other types. Still on the hunt
As an ISTJ & Enneagram 5W6, in my 40s, with degrees in culinary arts, I appreciate this love 'letter'. In true ISTJ/5W6 fashion, every six months or so I do searches on MB and Enneagram to see what's out there. Thanks for making this video.

Interesting. As an INFJ, I always thought of Ni (introverted intuition) as mostly unconscious with some deliberate puzzle-piecing through conscious effort. But I was wondering what your opinion (primarily conscious or unconscious?) was on Si (introverted sensing) as you say they (Ni vs. Si) can appear similar superficially but as I understand it, it is the unconscious introverted intuition that will look (ahead) at the whole picture, the entire puzzle, and may see the end picture, the conclusion, right through the missing parts. It assumes correlation of the missing parts to achieve a singular working concept. Whereas the Si (introverted sensing) person will insist on lining up all the puzzle pieces (all the sensory parts) in a row before making any conclusion. As an INFJ I kind of think of introverted intuition as the all-seeing Eye, outside of time and space, that can see the past, present, and future simultaneously, with a major focus on prescience and what is about to happen or will happen. Eager to move into the future, overnight(!) if necessary. I kind of see the ISTJ as looking primarily to the past in an almost hidebound fashion to predict what will happen, with a much greater reluctance to step into the future. If pushed(!), one leg in the future, but the other one remains solidly planted, firmly in the past. "The farther back you can look, the farther forward you are likely to see." Winston Churchill
I'm a ESTP and my best friend is an ISTJ, we get eachother so well, some friends say that we think alike. Is it maybe because we have the same functions but ISTJs are introverted and ESTPs are extroverted? I have Se Ti Fe Ni and ISTJS have Si Te Fi Ne
So estp's and istj's are considered "kindred" types this is because of a theory called synchronicity where each function aspires to be the opposite of itself. For example si wants to be more like se. This generally causes kindred types to admire eachother which is what results in a good friendship.
As an ISTJ I love ESTPs. You guys are exactly what I need in my life - you're different from me and kind of complete me, motivate me to try new stuff in the areas I'm not good at (Se things) and in the same time you're not too different, so there's no area for conflict (in personality kind of things. I.E. I'm horrible with feelers)
This is a breakthrough day for me. I saw Star Wars in July 1977 and this day is like that day. You might not understand what Star Wars is to me but I've realized my wife of 22 years is ISTJ and we share all four functions and I'm so happy because I'm INFP. Thanks so much!
I'm an ISTJ. I'm also a virgo who is the definition of a virgo. I think that the traits of both complement each other in me. I was raised by a malignant narcissistic mother and have spent years learning about and regaining the real me. I very much appreciate your words because I have felt like I'm being told even by people who are not my relatives that I need to be different than I naturally am which is not helpful for me after working so hard to find the real true me.
I am an ISTJ. I am definately responsible, frugal, sentimental, i love giving gifts. Im organized, i am told my memory is crazy. I love structure so all lf this is true. The downfall is that i am overly anxious sometimes depressed and a worry ward. I was married to an ENFP, it was so difficult i just couldnt handle it
Wow that is really close! Consider that both lead with Si and the inferior is Ne. There are some similarities but from what I know ISTJ are "chart the course" and ISFJ are "behind the scenes" if that makes any sense. I thought my wife was ISFJ until she took a job in human resources. She began having to stand up to some old timers there and at least one is gone now due to resisting changes. Then one day wife came home and used her Te with me and it hit me because I normally get upset with her because I am INFP. Then I realized after all this time she is ISTJ and it was like the day I first saw Star Wars!
I’m an INFP and my sister is an ISTJ and I love her so much! She is amazing to me! To me she’s like magic because she is good at everything I’m not good at. She is a truly loving and capable woman and I am in awe of all she is able to accomplish. I often think that if I could choose a personality I might choose ISTJ. We didn’t get along as much as kids but now we are very close.

As an ISTJ. You two are so cute in your appreciation for the type. Adorable! (In the good way). 😅😂
Hi and thank you im a 23 year old istj and i just wanna say i appricate this video and the work you guys are doing
You guys are awesome 🥲😍🥰 You really make me love myself so much more. Thank you 😊
This really made me feel better about myself. Thanks.
I'm very thankful to see the honest hard work you're putting into typology and even my type (ISTJ). Thank you, girls!
Y’all are young and The World is new to You. Best Wishes to you both in your New Endeavors! 🎉
ISTJs are soooooo awesome! They remember like no other! And they have an excellent function stack.
Respect from INTP
Wow you guys are so sweet, you made me feel so much better about my personality lol, I always feel like I need to change my personality.

@se k3 I have no idea lol we were young when we married.
Great video, thanks for all love for us ISTJ 🤗

As am istj-t I really enjoyed this video
Just came across you two today. Appreciated your love-in for ISTJs. This week I will be 76 years young. YES, 76 Trombones... Will you need to Google that? Hope not. For decades I thought I was INFJ, but last year I studied 2 of Linda Berens' booklets and many other sources, and learned I am ISTJ, which was a surprise. I have a speech impediment and mild CP, but that shouldn't bother us. HOW MAY I ANSWER YOUR SURVEY? Thank you.
Wow, I think it's the first time I've seen ISTJs described correctly. So true, I'm happy with my life and simply can't answer stupid questions about my ambitions at work within 3 or 5 years.. but managers don't appreciate it. Good employers should be ambitious, not happy where they are... I'm just going with the flow and if a nice chance comes up I might just take it.
When you cite Beebe, Hunziker, and MV Franz, I know this is a legit channel! So happy to have stumbled on your channel.
Thank you for this video. I am an ISTJ.
XD
Thank you for your kind words and information! Can't wait to check out your other videos and learn more!
I definitely feel like I know who I am as a person but I contradict I guess in questioning reality (not all the traits have to follow exact like you said)
I'm glad not everyone thinks we are boring😹 I find myself quite interesting but it's nice to feel validated :)
I will have to come back here once I learn more about functions!
You ladies are awesome, have a great day!
Thank you so much for your response! We'd love to have you for the ISTJ portion of this project : ) ---J
Im an ISTJ personality type and I have the magician archetype .
We'd be thrilled if you'd like to participate in our project!! Just message us on FB/IG or email us at typecastheroes@gmail.com 🖤
I would love to meet another ISTJ
hahaha, love this, so true and confirmed by an ISTJ...Thank you
peoples said that istj is the worst type :( im as istj so sad to hear that :(
That's dumb; there's no such thing as a "worst type" just own your type and don't let them get to you :)
really?!! how wth
Yes I thought 2 ISTJs were INFJs at first because I could see their face change in thinking something without them saying but they don’t say unless they have concrete evidence but I did help 1 ISTJ with his intuition some and they can be musically inclined. Also istjs are really funny they can be comedians they notice little details about people
Show us some love. We love yall too. Beautiful ladies, thank you.

And I just thought I had a good memory, a memory my mother hated. And patterns are easy. Wow, thanks for this.

She is a friggin badass!
Thank you❤️🇨🇦👍
I am an ISTJ. I am definately responsible, frugal, sentimental, i love giving gifts. Im organized, i am told my memory is crazy. I love structure so all lf this is true. The downfall is that i am overly anxious sometimes depressed and a worry ward. I was married to an ENFP, it was so difficult i just couldnt handle it
We r not robots.
Jeff Bezos has been typed by many as ISTJ. The video reflects what an ISTJ can do for everyone. They are not just boring managers or accountants.
Looking snazzy, Jessie!
Nice video. What is the A after mean. I.e. ISTJ-A
Assertive. I'm not sure what it means beyond that.
Angela from the office comes off as a ISTJ/isfj
All I know is that I’m an ISTJ
Ok, here a quick lesson on how to do things on time: start in time and dont procrastinate. You're welcome :D Greetings from an ISTJ XD
Three years ago I tested as an ISTJ. Today I retested as ISFJ. What does this mean?
Wow that is really close! Consider that both lead with Si and the inferior is Ne. There are some similarities but from what I know ISTJ are "chart the course" and ISFJ are "behind the scenes" if that makes any sense.
I thought my wife was ISFJ until she took a job in human resources. She began having to stand up to some old timers there and at least one is gone now due to resisting changes. Then one day wife came home and used her Te with me and it hit me because I normally get upset with her because I am INFP. Then I realized after all this time she is ISTJ and it was like the day I first saw Star Wars!
squishing emotions yep me in a bottle

When they described 2nd and 3rd function, they mention "cause they're a bridge type". What is a "bridge type"?
You lost me at Karlian. Did you need to make up a word to set yourself apart. Nauseating.
