Aw, a long distance relationship! It's not so bad, and he's going in 4 days so uh... around 4 months-ish apart? Seems the norm basically. I'm a navy girlfriend, my boyfriend usually works away between 3-9months. So i know how difficult it can be but it's also so easy since the time can just fly by fast. You'll be okay girl ^_^
My boyfriend and I were both in the Navy when we met 4 years ago, then only 3 months after we'd started dating, he got out and moved back to his hometown which was 1200 miles away from where I was stationed. We did long distance for a whole year and a half before I also got out of the Navy and moved in with him! It was tough being long distance for such a long time, but we talked every day and skyped and literally found every kind of online communication possible. My advice? Talk every day. Even if it's just for a couple mins, having that connection and hearing their voice makes everything better :)
i agree, we did the same! we called every day, even if it's only for 2-3 minutes. I suffer from all 3 anxiety disorders so i'd worry every single day (unless he's at base then im okay) but when he's deployed and at sea, yeah i do worry, a lot. So those phone calls help keep the anxiety away like just the whole (hi baby, im okay) just hearing his voice and im like he's fine, nothing's happened, and such. And yeah it is super difficult but we don't give up. Also doesn't it bug you when people say about long distance (like, we know it'll be long distance and such, we're prepared for it) but then breaks up and actually blames the distance as the reason, and not themselves?

Fellow TexPat here 🙋🏼♀️: 1.) Definitely Brooklyn. WBurg, Greenpoint, and Park Slope are all amazing neighborhoods, but there are plenty others, also beautiful. 2.) When you look for an apartment, think about how close it is the the grocery store/ the trains you’ll need for work, etc. You will be grateful in the winter. 3.) There are TOO many amazing bookstores in NYC; you’re gonna love it. I never thought I’d live there either, but...it will change your life!

My husband is military and so his deployments are like 3-6 months at a time so I know how scary it can be but once you get into a groove time flies by and before you know it your back together again! I found it really strengthened our relationship and I hope it does the same for yours! ❤️ I look forward to seeing new adventures! Congrats Clay! 😁
As someone who has moved multiple times in the past year(Michigan to Texas to Kansas and now possibly Colorado) I promise it will all work out and that each move gets a little bit easier. I love living alone as an introvert (200 books read this year is my Goodreads challenge). You should do a video on your favourite introverted book characters for inspiration - its an opportunity to embody this side of yourself more for a bit :) I love going to cafes alone to read and exploring a city alone is so great, you can do what you want when you want, and just absorb the atmosphere and quietly go about your own way. I think its such a strengthening thing for yourself, something everyone should experience at least once in their life I'm rooting for you. You have a lot of support. Im sure it will be tough but you'll be great
I'd love to see moving tips/tricks. I just graduated and will be (finally) moving out of my parents' house pretty soon, and I majorly need help figuring out how to organize all my stuff and get it out! My heart dropped when I saw the title! I love watching your reading vlogs and how you guys discuss what you are reading. I wonder if Clay is going to be able to get his TBR done by summer? My husband and I just went through this same situation a few months ago and may be facing it again shortly. He works on contract in the tech industry so he had taken a short contract down in the Bay Area in California while I stayed up here in Seattle. We have never really been apart and it was a definite adjustment, but I slowly got a routine down and the time flew by. Weekends seemed longer but just more time for reading and Netflix lol! You’ll do fine and you have your new nyc adventure to look forward to😊

My husband and I did long distance for a while due to his job and I was still on undergrad (He was in Maine and I was Texas). You guys will do good if you work on it. Don't stress over it! NYC is amazing. I have never lived there but it's great!

I’ve picked up and moved from Kentucky to Key West Florida and it was so extremely scary, but also so fun!!! I’ve been reading the book “big magic” and it talked about using your fear as tool and embracing it. Don’t let your fear hold you back! Put your fear in the passenger seat and whip the hell out of your life!! You can get through this all of this! I’m so happy for you and clay I’ve been watching your videos for years and I’ve kept up lol I’m sure this is a big thing for both of you guys and I’m so happy for both of you💘 don’t let your fear overwhelm you you got this!!

I love living alone as an introvert (200 books read this year is my Goodreads challenge). You should do a video on your favourite introverted book characters for inspiration - its an opportunity to embody this side of yourself more for a bit :)
I love going to cafes alone to read and exploring a city alone is so great, you can do what you want when you want, and just absorb the atmosphere and quietly go about your own way. I think its such a strengthening thing for yourself, something everyone should experience at least once in their life

My heart dropped when I saw the title! I love watching your reading vlogs and how you guys discuss what you are reading. I wonder if Clay is going to be able to get his TBR done by summer? My husband and I just went through this same situation a few months ago and may be facing it again shortly. He works on contract in the tech industry so he had taken a short contract down in the Bay Area in California while I stayed up here in Seattle. We have never really been apart and it was a definite adjustment, but I slowly got a routine down and the time flew by. Weekends seemed longer but just more time for reading and Netflix lol! You’ll do fine and you have your new nyc adventure to look forward to😊

Suggestion: put books in crates. It makes it so much easier to move them. Also I LOVE THAT SHIRT!!
she could go to the local Walgreens and/or Aldi stores and ask for empty crates! They still use them to ship milk.
My now husband and I were long distance for 3 years. 3 months is long but it will make your communication skills on point!! I saw the post on Instagram about it being Clay's last night in Chicago and wondered what was going on. It's not easy being apart from your significant other.. I did that for a couple of years but so glad that you two will not have to wait too long. Congratulations to Clay on his job! How exciting to get to move to an area that offers so much though understandable you'd be nervous too. You've got this!
My husband and I had to do this a couple of years ago, and tbh, even though I found living apart hard, it's also quite refreshing and I'm sure you'll find loads to keep you busy until you're back together!
