- During my earlier years of guitar playing I gravitated towards the work of Randy Rhoads. Although musical taste is an ever-evolving experience, this song remained among my list of favorites. For some time, I’ve been carrying the idea to strip this song down to its most basic form, a sort of challenge to truly understanding the dynamics of a composition.
Performing this piece has been a lesson on how composition can become a narrative and ultimately to me, reveal the timelessness of a masterpiece.
The idea manifests itself in a classical-esque duet. If you want to get philosophical about it you could say it’s a tale of light and dark or sanity vs. madness, but really, I wore different colored shirts.
I'm proud to have finally completed this one. Enjoy!
Just incredible. Randy died when I was 13.. no bigger fan on this planet than me. He sill inspires me to this very day 39 years later. I still hear stuff in headphones he did that just blows my mind. Greatest player to ever walk this planet period and there’s a lot of great players out there today but NOBODY like Randy was... NOBODY!!

Yes, I saw this mentioned in another media outlet. I’ve checked out that song and I must say, Randy delved dangerously close to copyright infringement, but not so much to be guilty of it. The again I doubt Leo could pull off the solos like Randy - ha, nobody could!
I was 17 when he got killed, I had tickets to see ozzy in 2 weeks in Boston when it happened.
