This proves Metallica was always more than just a thrash or heavy metal band. They're composers of great music that can be reinterpreted by other great musicians like this guy, and it loses none of its punch. If anything, you can appreciate the melodies more stripped down like this. Fantastic.
My friend plays guitar at a fairly upscale restaurant and has been sneaking in thrash metal songs like this for years. His favorite part is watching people figure it out here and there in the dining room. One time a guy on a date approached him between sets and asked "excuse me... was that children of bodom?". My friend just smiled and threw up subtle devil horns. For the entire rest of that guys dinner, my friend was just playing sneaky metal tunes here and there. He totally ruined this poor girls date because the guy kept turning around every time a new metal song started and eventually started pulling out his phone to show her the original song.
but ,, yeah its true for most song, but , some dont, and need really big arrangement to sound ''good'', like the master of puppet accoustic one in here, i found this version amazing , but the effort put in this song was bigger than all of the other reunite im sure. Arranging this song to sound that way, need a lot or work. And its the same with any song where melody are not the front page of the song. Like a song like no remorse, would be boring since this song is drived by minimal riff, with not real melody exploitable, add to that big fast solo, that are pretty nice but not so bluesy than the one we here in this compilation.

Very awesome!! I play violin and viola, and thought I was hearing a viola on Fade to Black. But I see now it's a violin, just playing the low strings!! Want to learn this part now. Now I just gotta find a guitar player. My wife does not like metal, but I'm gonna play this while i am doing schoolwork and see if she thinks it's just classical music then surprise her that's it's Metallica and that they actually have cool melodies.

"Nothing else matters" is 1 of my all time favorite jams of any genre. I can remember the 1st time I heard it as a kid back in 91'. Bought the cassette tape popped it in my Sony Walkman & the rest is history 🙂

Fade to black is I think my favorite Metallica song. And to be honest when I saw the violin, I was very doubtful !! But I finally it was very good, and if all you covers are not my preferred ones, they are very good anyway and there is a huge mastering behind all of them. BRAVO!

I could play rhythm guitar on every song and some lead on some songs, but to see you play both at the same time blew me away. I didn't know that was possible.
