I originally thought that Barbados was a new character to the DC universe when Dark Knights Metal came out. But after watching this, you can tell he was possibly planning the multiverse invasion for a long time.
I loved Scott Synder's run on Batman. He definitely left his mark on the whole DC Multiverse. Changing existing characters and creating new ones all the while telling multiple stories that explored the history of not just Batman but all of the aforementioned multiverse. And to top it off we got to see Batman weaponize an infant and the murder of the one person who helped forge a traumatized little boy into the world's greatest detective. Rest in peace Alfred Pennyworth.
Barbatos in the Batman lore: *Is an all powerful mysterious eldritch bat god that is responsible for bringing about certain events to transpire which resulted in one of the most iconic superheroes of all to be created * Barbatos in the Genshin lore: “I’m a femboy :3”
I think introducing a "bat god" for batman is the dumbest fucking idea dc has ever come up with. Seriously???? It really destroys his legacy and history in my opinion
I think it would of been better to not make him so intrinsic or somehow making what creates Bruce into Batman. I think it should just been treated as gaslighting and Batman starts to believe it but at the end of the arc it was all just bullshit. That and Batman tends to not believe in fate.
**The Occult is Very Real** The earliest known mention of Obeah comes from Barbados in 1710 from letters written by Thomas Walduck. He writes in part, that an Obia Negro can torment another by sending uncountable pains in different parts of their Body, lameness, madness, loss of speech, lose the use of all their limbs without any pain. Obeah is similar to other African diaspora religions such as Palo, Haitian Vodou, Santería, and Hoodoo in that it includes communication with ancestors and spirits and healing rituals. Nevertheless, it differs from religions like Vodou and Santeria in that there is no explicit canon of gods or deities that is worshipped, and the practice is generally an individual action rather than part of a collective ceremony or offering. According to some early colonial accounts, Obeah differed from Myal in that Obeah was viewed as nefarious while Myal was a more positive influence. Variants of Obeah are practiced in the Caribbean nations of in The Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, Jamaica, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Suriname, Turks and Caicos Islands, Trinidad and Tobago, and the Virgin Islands, as well as by the Igbo people of Nigeria.
Ok so first of all barbatos didn't create Darkseid. Second it was perpetua whispering in barbatos' ear from the source wall that caused it to turn on the world forger.
I dont think he made darkseid actually isnt the entire point of darkseid and the new gods is that they're outside of our multiverse completely someone correct me if im wrong here but to say he made darkseid would be undoing kirby's work which tbh is heresy.
Now I dislike Linkara's tangent on "complicating the lore" even more. Although, would be kind of dumb if that duke of Hell was chosen because his name was BarBATos.
This is a very deep and profound episode. Thank you for your efforts.

Can you see Me? on the wall of Armadeus Arkham's cell in Circle upon Circle.

¿Weaponize an infant?
Barbados been there before the beginning that's crazy it just makes Batman a more deep character who was destined for tragedy
Another one of my favorite dark multiverse characters I love the dark multiverse.
I would like to see a story where Necron and Barbatos share the stage and how the two would would interact.
Thank you so much for all the effort you put into making this episode. It's awesome!
I've said this repeatedly, this would be a blockbuster movie if it was done right. 💯🤘

Yep, they gave the dark and gritty Batman a god based on a dumb pun.

You should do a Darkseid origin story
@20:35 What’s a “Crevelation”? And there aren’t any links in the description!
Interesting take
Your voice is good.

IT'S BAR- BA -TOS .....NOT BARBADOS TOTAL DIFERENT
It makes sense to pronounce the "bat" in Barbatos. I know someone who went on vacation to Barbados.
What movie was that in the beginning
Awesome
