Maximilion Pegasus you can think that all you want, but evidence proves otherwise. Most of us hear him loud and clear. He’s blown people away at live concerts. Before he was the new bass of Pentatonix he was the bass for the professional a cappella group ‘The House Jacks’, before that he was the bass for the award winning group ‘Pitch Slapped’. He was even their director his final year at Berklee school of Music. All those groups, all those instructors and all those audience members can’t all be wrong.

The "low note" matt hits there is a an F#2 which isn't that low tenors and baritones can hit that. the lowest note matt sings is at the end of the bass phrase which is a C#2, Avi can hit a G#1, matt's not that impressive so relax

Yep... I love Avi and his bass, and I was afraid his leaving would be the end of ptx. I'm so thrilled that my fears were completely unfounded. Matt is clearly bringing a lot to the table, and his bass is so strong!! It's a good mix, and I feel like this is the beginning of some fantastic stuff!!
Yeah, for sure. I'm really excited to see how he'll sound on the slower, more melodic stuff where he gets more of an opportunity to REALLY sing as opposed to just providing a solid bass.
Their replacement fits right in. I was debating whether I wanted to purchase a ticket for their upcoming tour after I found out that Avi was no longer in the group. I will definitely be purchasing a ticket. They work well together in unison but that beatbox and bass is on point. Well done.
Key Tho - he found the pace a bit too much for him. He’s got a young family and he wanted more time home with them. As much as I miss him, I can’t blame him. I’m sure the schedule is crazy hectic for this group, especially in the lead up to Christmas (huge sales on Xmas album) which is usually when Hanukkah is.
Im finally getting to these songs. I’ve been watching the videos from the beginning to look at y’all evolution. Kirstin and Mitch SLAYED those harmonies. Scott has an amazingly dynamic voice. Matt’s bass is absolutely stellar. Kevin killed the beat. And that swell towards the end is crazy intense. Overall one of the best PTX songs
I dig the combination of singing and beat boxing. So much talent in one video, that's inspiring in all honesty. I hope to make it on the trending page with my music one day like these guys have! Keep up the good work.

Funny you should phrase it like that. I thought EXACTLY the same thing as I was listening. I was concerned that they might get a little tripped up after Avi left, but not only have they Not missed a step, they haven't even slowed down. Incredible!
I dislike seeing comments dissing Matt. He’s honestly great and some are saying that Avi was better, that is so much disrespect towards Matt but not only him, Avi and the whole Pentatonix group as well. They chose Matt to be in their group because he had it in his voice. Avi and Matt are both equally amazing with their vocals. It may not be the same but the thing is that Avi and Matt aren’t the same people and you must accept that. Every single person in this world is unique. I really do hope that later on, more people will have respect towards Matt and accept him for who he is and his strengths with his vocals. He’s absolutely amazing. No one can do anything about Avi leaving except himself, from what I last heard, he is not coming back.
Truthfully, I don't believe there IS a "most talented" in this group. Every last one of them is top of the food chain. Kevin has mind-blowing skills as a beat-boxer and celloist, Matt is (as is displayed in this video) a magnificent bassline, Mitch is .... well, it's impossible to over-praise his voice and his control over it, and Kirstin is ... I don't know where to go with this. Too many things to praise. Scott fascinates me most because I feel he is the quiet steel backbone that is the center pole around which the others anchor. He's vastly underpraised in comments, in my (not very humble) opinion.
I believe it's because Scott is the lead singer who sings majority of the song, while Mitch sings in relatively less parts but where his high notes stand out. But I say Scott does that rightfully so! I am often amazed how Scott's voice is perfect for whatever song they release, and came to be surprised recently by his wide range of notes when he covers for Matt😉
As far as being multi faceted, I think Kevin IS the most talented. Avi was right next to him. They both made beats, sang, played instruments, mixed their OWN music and songs. Him and Avi were VERY underused and I think they made up for it by letting Matt and Kevin have parts outside of being beats. Avi did sing but it was mostly used for bass when he has a greater range. And we see that happening for Matt.
Avi was a gift to PTX; Matt is a gift to PTX - both of them are incredible musicians with very distinct gifts and each of them deserves recognition for their contributions. This group f’ing SLAYS - I can’t stop listening and they have given me the gift of my voice again. I stopped singing for a very long time - PTX helped me find my voice. I adore every one of them even though they have no idea that I even exist.
Lisa Oliverius using "was" and "is" was very useful. People just have to accept that AVI IS GONE. BUT HE WILL NEVER BE IN OUR PENTAHOLIC HEARTS. BUT ITS TIME TO LOVE AND RESPECT MATT.
Not going to lie, I was a little scared about the future of PTX. If you watched Superfruit you knew long before it happened that they were coming out with their own stuff, and I was super late in finding out Avi left...so I had a mini freak out that it would just be the end of Pentatonix because of all of that combined......bands have split because of way less in the past. Glad that was not the outcome, and you guys sound better than ever. Love the new addition of Matt, seems like he fits in real well...he also gives you guys somewhat of an R&B vibe with his sound, so that's really cool too. Loved this a lot, can't wait to hear more! Good luck to Avi with doing his own thing.

That was my initial thought too, with Kirstie AND Superfruit working on and releasing new stuff at the same time hearing that Avi was taking a step back (& then releases new music with a new band), I was afraid that it was the beginning of the end for Pentatonix! So this is such a relief AND a joy! Definitely embracing more of their RnB side now, and Matt makes that easier for them to achieve. I’m loving their sound.

Avi & Matt are 2 different people. People only hate on him because they miss Avi. No one can ever replace Avi but Matt is the perfect replacement and as long as they keep making music, I approve. Takes me back to PTX Sing Off days when Scott was the lead, Kevin and (now) Matt, providing the solid rhythm (meat and potatoes), and the Serious harmonies provided by Kirstie and Mitch! Totally enthralling and enjoyable. This sound is so rich! I love the mashup arrangement , it flows so well. I was kinda expecting the judges to give their reviews on it at the end! Shawn would have been speechless, Sarah would have forgotten to make notes because she would have been enjoying it so much and Ben would have explained how technically perfect the arrangement and delivery was....! Because Avi wasn’t there, I just assumed that they omitted that sound from their song! But because Kevin can sound like Scott, they didn’t need 2 Baritones at the end, so Scott slipped right into the Bass! These guys are Amazing!!! 😄

The "low note" matt hits there is a an F#2 which isn't that low tenors and baritones can hit that. the lowest note matt sings is at the end of the bass phrase which is a C#2, Avi can hit a G#1, matt's not that impressive so relax

Yeah, for sure. I'm really excited to see how he'll sound on the slower, more melodic stuff where he gets more of an opportunity to REALLY sing as opposed to just providing a solid bass.

Key Tho - he found the pace a bit too much for him. He’s got a young family and he wanted more time home with them. As much as I miss him, I can’t blame him. I’m sure the schedule is crazy hectic for this group, especially in the lead up to Christmas (huge sales on Xmas album) which is usually when Hanukkah is.

Im finally getting to these songs. I’ve been watching the videos from the beginning to look at y’all evolution. Kirstin and Mitch SLAYED those harmonies. Scott has an amazingly dynamic voice. Matt’s bass is absolutely stellar. Kevin killed the beat. And that swell towards the end is crazy intense. Overall one of the best PTX songs
I dig the combination of singing and beat boxing. So much talent in one video, that's inspiring in all honesty. I hope to make it on the trending page with my music one day like these guys have! Keep up the good work.

I dislike seeing comments dissing Matt. He’s honestly great and some are saying that Avi was better, that is so much disrespect towards Matt but not only him, Avi and the whole Pentatonix group as well. They chose Matt to be in their group because he had it in his voice. Avi and Matt are both equally amazing with their vocals. It may not be the same but the thing is that Avi and Matt aren’t the same people and you must accept that. Every single person in this world is unique. I really do hope that later on, more people will have respect towards Matt and accept him for who he is and his strengths with his vocals. He’s absolutely amazing. No one can do anything about Avi leaving except himself, from what I last heard, he is not coming back.

Is it me or is Kevin the most talented in the group? His multilevel percussion beatboxing is unmatched by anyone.
Truthfully, I don't believe there IS a "most talented" in this group. Every last one of them is top of the food chain. Kevin has mind-blowing skills as a beat-boxer and celloist, Matt is (as is displayed in this video) a magnificent bassline, Mitch is .... well, it's impossible to over-praise his voice and his control over it, and Kirstin is ... I don't know where to go with this. Too many things to praise.
Scott fascinates me most because I feel he is the quiet steel backbone that is the center pole around which the others anchor. He's vastly underpraised in comments, in my (not very humble) opinion.
I believe it's because Scott is the lead singer who sings majority of the song, while Mitch sings in relatively less parts but where his high notes stand out. But I say Scott does that rightfully so! I am often amazed how Scott's voice is perfect for whatever song they release, and came to be surprised recently by his wide range of notes when he covers for Matt😉

As far as being multi faceted, I think Kevin IS the most talented. Avi was right next to him. They both made beats, sang, played instruments, mixed their OWN music and songs. Him and Avi were VERY underused and I think they made up for it by letting Matt and Kevin have parts outside of being beats. Avi did sing but it was mostly used for bass when he has a greater range. And we see that happening for Matt.
These songs go PERFECT together, of COURSE PTX would be the ones to figure that out. & welcome, Matt!!! You're amazing!!

Avi was a gift to PTX; Matt is a gift to PTX - both of them are incredible musicians with very distinct gifts and each of them deserves recognition for their contributions. This group f’ing SLAYS - I can’t stop listening and they have given me the gift of my voice again. I stopped singing for a very long time - PTX helped me find my voice. I adore every one of them even though they have no idea that I even exist.

Not going to lie, I was a little scared about the future of PTX. If you watched Superfruit you knew long before it happened that they were coming out with their own stuff, and I was super late in finding out Avi left...so I had a mini freak out that it would just be the end of Pentatonix because of all of that combined......bands have split because of way less in the past. Glad that was not the outcome, and you guys sound better than ever. Love the new addition of Matt, seems like he fits in real well...he also gives you guys somewhat of an R&B vibe with his sound, so that's really cool too. Loved this a lot, can't wait to hear more! Good luck to Avi with doing his own thing.

That was my initial thought too, with Kirstie AND Superfruit working on and releasing new stuff at the same time hearing that Avi was taking a step back (& then releases new music with a new band), I was afraid that it was the beginning of the end for Pentatonix! So this is such a relief AND a joy! Definitely embracing more of their RnB side now, and Matt makes that easier for them to achieve. I’m loving their sound.

BritNikkae Walker it always pays to listen to a Pentatonix song with headphones on! I only discovered LAST WEEK that Scott was singing Bass notes at the end of Away in a Manger!!! Seriously! Because Avi wasn’t there, I just assumed that they omitted that sound from their song! But because Kevin can sound like Scott, they didn’t need 2 Baritones at the end, so Scott slipped right into the Bass!
