Everyone of the singers can sing a solo. Why is everyone complaining about Scott taking the lead? Just because people may have a favorite member doesn’t mean that they should have all of the solos. The harmonies are really what make Pentatonix who they are. Not being soloists. Also I should mention that they have 4 SONGS OUT OF 12 OUT. Do you know what that means? More songs are coming with more solos and beautiful harmonies that we have yet to hear. Scott’s rendition of this song is beautiful. Please respect them as they need no hate for they have beautiful voices.

I was listening in bed in New Zealand, (I'm 81) and picturing the video, but I just couldn't bear not to watch it again, so I had to get up. It's one of the most beautiful renditions ever, love Scott's solo, love Kevin on cello (played cello myself in the past) but beatboxing too, love the ballet dancer, and I love that the others all did their understated skillful support to make this so magical.

I see a lot of comments about Scott leading on songs. He is a fabulous lead!! Most of these songs seem to be chosen for a baritone lead. I am sure that the rest of PTX are not doormats. If they want the responsibility of a lead in a song I am sure they will be heard. They have been collaborating on arrangements for years after all. It seems to me that they have chosen a very specific style to cover in this album. With Kirstie on Broadway, Matt singing bass, Kevin cello boxing, the choice is between Mitch and Scott. @Jaxson Worley "Dancing on My Own" has him playing cello (done after Avi/before Matt) "Radioactive" & "Papaoutai" have cello w/ Lindsay Stirling on Violin as well and more recently "Shallow" has him on cello Kevin Olusola is an incredible talent (as are they all) Scott Hoying at the start of "Sound of Silence" is scary/shockingly good (he's always great - but that one's a shocker) Mitch & Kirstin are crazy talented vocalists (not to mention their constantly changing hairstyles) and Matt stepping in for Avi made for a different, but equally good, group vibe. He has the same ability to deliver a great bass line, and a beautiful melody when given the chance.

RCG I’m going to assume that it’s because Kirstie was also rehearsing fo her role on Broadway. She had a great lead in Despacito x Shape Of Your Body and Issues. They all had roles in Praying. I agree that it would have been nice to see music videos of those songs, perhaps when she finishes on Broadway they can do it! But tbh, I think that Scott’s voice really compliments this song and the choice to keep it simple, was a good one. As far as Mitch goes, people were saying the exact opposite with their Superfruit songs - it was practically 99% Mitch, so perhaps Mitchy was resting his vocals in preparation for their mini Superfruit tour which was coming up. Or it could just be that Scott had the best vocal range for these arrangements. 🤷🏾♀️

They are supported via Christian record/promotion companies. That's great that you like them but don't think they put ads in music community forums or met in college then decided to start a group, work for years writing original material, toured sleeping in a van betwixt gigs until they finally made it. They auditioned, got the job, have handlers/ vocal coaches and producers and go around making money mostly for Christian corps. I think they sound great but I'm not naive about the machine behind them.
People need to take a step back and chill with the comments. You have to realize that everybody’s voice is different. Mine will sound different from the persons next to me. I understand that Scott might me getting a lot more solo time, but they might have decided that as a group because the song choices they picked. I officiated a wedding for one of my best friends in the Napa Valley at a private estate and my wife chose this song from PTX as the couples wedding song. and Matt stepping in for Avi made for a different, but equally good, group vibe. He has the same ability to deliver a great bass line, and a beautiful melody when given the chance.

RCG I’m going to assume that it’s because Kirstie was also rehearsing fo her role on Broadway. She had a great lead in Despacito x Shape Of Your Body and Issues. They all had roles in Praying. I agree that it would have been nice to see music videos of those songs, perhaps when she finishes on Broadway they can do it!
But tbh, I think that Scott’s voice really compliments this song and the choice to keep it simple, was a good one.
As far as Mitch goes, people were saying the exact opposite with their Superfruit songs - it was practically 99% Mitch, so perhaps Mitchy was resting his vocals in preparation for their mini Superfruit tour which was coming up. Or it could just be that Scott had the best vocal range for these arrangements. 🤷🏾♀️

They are supported via Christian record/promotion companies. That's great that you like them but don't think they put ads in music community forums or met in college then decided to start a group, work for years writing original material, toured sleeping in a van betwixt gigs until they finally made it. They auditioned, got the job, have handlers/ vocal coaches and producers and go around making money mostly for Christian corps. I think they sound great but I'm not naive about the machine behind them.

People need to take a step back and chill with the comments. You have to realize that everybody’s voice is different. Mine will sound different from the persons next to me. I understand that Scott might me getting a lot more solo time, but they might have decided that as a group because the song choices they picked. A lot has changed since Avi left and probably a lot of change to come in the future. Just roll with it and be thankful they are still putting out music.
