If you don't want to take the full responsibility for having a car accident, have insurance. You commit a crime and something bad happens to you during it, you can't expect compensation. 🤣
Let's compare the situation to a more extreme one, so you get it. (Hopefully) Let's say you work as a security guard at a bank. A guy comes in to rob the place, with a gun. You can’t sue for money that was stolen. Or lie about the facts and be rewarded.

@@lordlossize lordlossize GG - you are entirely correct. 👍
I re-read the comments here and think the dude thought _dirty hands_ in general.
Of course, it’s only about the facts concerning the particular case brought before the court.
I think what confuses people is that JJ often asks _seemingly irrelevant_ questions about _how_ they earn a living, how they drove or came to be somewhere, what they were doing at the precise moment etc.
She likes to see the 4 corners of a story and get a feel for who she’s dealing with.
I’m thinking of the woman who was playing word games saying she didn’t _own_ any business herself, per se, but was the go between for the general and sub contractors. It didn’t take JJ long to discern the scammer woman was collecting welfare.

She's right about the insurance thing, but giving people rides and even loaning people your car is not an illegal business.
I work with people who pay their friends & co-workers for rides all the time. Gas is expensive. That doesn't make the car owner an illegal business owner.
One young woman borrows her friend's car from time to time, & gives her money to do it. It covers gas & wear & tear on the car. That doesn't mean her friend is now running an illegal business.

The only relevant detail here is that he was operating a car rental business without a license. And TBH, thats such a weak law that he broke...I can't believe JJ would absolve the defendant of any responsibility. If the defendant borrowed her friends car and crashed it, she'd have to pay. His liability insurance will pay for the damages to the other driver.
I doubt there was much damage on his car.
The best thing to do is split the cost to fix his bumper.
If a person rents a car, they have to buy rental insurance from the owner, or provide their insurance policy numbers to the owner of the rental.
Clearly the renter of the car didn’t pay rental insurance to the owner, nor did she have a car or a car insurance policy or anything else. So she was in the wrong two times as well.
Split the cost on the bumper and never rent your vehicle out again.

    • @JennaMidgley

If you're having it financed with a lender, most require you to carry comprehensive coverage. In most states, as long as you're not getting financing, having liability only is just fine.

If you buy the car outright, you can have whatever insurance you want. If you’re financing or leasing the car, the terms will depend on your agreement with the financing company. Many do require full coverage insurance.

If she is paying to use the car, he must be responsible for what ever happened while the car is in her hand, because he is taking the risk to make money. Just like the rental cars.

Where is part two?? Who knows if there is even one. My take? A rental co. will not rent you a car if you do not have a credit card or insurance. PERIOD! So he rented it out but neither one of them had "proper" insurance. He had liability but was not driving. She had no insurance whatsoever. I would have dismissed his case but who knows what JJ did??!!? Anybody, anybody, Buehler, anybody?

When person/s buy a car they usually are told that they have to make arrangements to put car insurance on the car before driving the car on the road, just in case of car accident happening regarding their car driver at fault their insurance supposed to pay (?); I think that it doesn't matter about the male lending out his car or charging persons to use his car is his own business; just like it would be his own business to have his car fixed and or other person/s car fix (by his car insurance company(?)) if car need fixing being that person that were driving his car are at fault.

Yeah but he cannot bring her to court because he is running an illegal business... His business is not registered as required by law.. The law does not make accommodation for illegals activity.. Now his insurance company, Lienholder (bank), the department of motor vehicle and the NYPD knows he was running an illegal business.... He just brought attention to himself and the fact that he broke the law... He did not think this through... a drug dealer cannot bring anyone to court for not being paid for services rendered because it is an illegal business activity..

    • @shekelafarmer8306
      @shekelafarmer8306 2 ปีที่แล้ว

The only problem that I believe the male maybe(?) at fault for fixing the car if driver of his car are at fault and because he did not have full coverage on his car to pay for such accident/s that may happen to his car and or other persons car of which maybe responsible to fix↗if driver of his car were at fault.↗ But; the male doesn't have to let some other people in on his business to make money off of his business; meaning the male can let persons borrow his car and or he can loan out his car and or he can rent out his car to other person/s is really his own business that some unfair and unreal people want in on to make money by his legal business. ⏩↗ A drug dealer or not a drug dealer can't bring anyone to court; they have to bring the person/s of which have a legit legal problem about that's worth bringing into court or take a loss knowing that their dealings to trade were not by force, but, a fair trade for unfair or unreal business reason/s.

You don't have to come to court with clean hands. The law is the law. This women is a donut. Makes up her own rules depending on a person to person case. She crashed his car she owes him the money. It's her obligation to be insured not his.
