Not sure if you still read these comments, but I gotta say you have such a great style. Everything on screen and everything you say is informational and to the point. Your editing is tight, and it all flows so well. It's obvious you put a lot of thought into the copy, pacing, and footage. Very professional! Definitely going to check your other videos out.

@@phillytheflyerable Thanks for your question! I explain that at 1:27:30 - The orange pillars have to be up so that the blue pillars will be down later in the dungeon.

@@FruitbatsTV you are correct, I saw that later. I don't have your memory I guess, but I slashed the crystal and still the blue pillars where down. maybe there was another ceystal. nothing important in the big chest then? I didn't find out how to get it

I know this is probably going to sound a bit strange, but I have no interest in trying speedruns myself and I absolutely love this video. I think it's like watching analyses of your favorite sports teams while not wanting to compete in the sport yourself. This video is informative, entertaining, and you're an absolute dream to listen to. I don't know if you're into any speedrunning games besides LTTP, but if you are, I really hope you do more videos like this!

I wasn't gonna like this video until you said "pink chocobo" plus you taught me something new about the bouncing red things, I didn't know they turned into faeries. And I've done a full no-glitch speedrun before, back in the 90's when I had to squeeze limited gaming time after loads of homework.

Wow, I've gotta say; this is an absolutely fantastic video! This is easily the most comprehensive and professional speedrun tutorial I've ever found. I'm casually looking for a game to run, and while I probably won't go with ALttP, this was a super entertaining, informative, and engaging video all the way through. Visually crisp, full of information, but also incredibly snappy, positive, and precise. Boy do I wish this was a more common thing, because this video was basically a perfect tutorial. Fan-freaking-tastic job!

Correct, we skip the big chest in Ice Palace. That chest contains the Blue Mail, which we don't need. This along with the bomb jump are the reasons we also skip the small chest that contains the dungeon's big key, which makes the whole dungeon must easier and faster :D

I know this video is a few years old now, but I would really like to thank you for making it from the bottom of my heart! I played this game many times throughout my childhood, but it's been years since I've touched it. The popularity of the LTTP randomizer is what brought this game back to me, and what brought me to this video. Your commentary and tips were helpful, professional, and most importantly easy to follow, and I will recommend this video to anybody that wants to get started in speedrunning. I've been doing practice runs alongside watching, and always coming back for advice on tough parts. Thank you again for making this excellent video, and you can consider me a permanent fan. This was super helpful. Lots of small tips that make a big difference for a newbie runner. Stuff you won't see just by watching top-level runs, because they don't need them.

This might be the best tutorial for anything I've seen, seriously. To call it professional-quality would be an understatement.

Thanks for the tutorial fruitbats! Finished getting through the route from this, and finished my first couple runs last night. Almost got a sub-2 on the first one, but forgot some of the dungeon routing in mire and swamp. 2nd one was a 1:54 though! Better than i thought I'd do lol. Now i just need to get better so i can start dropping those safeties.

I'm not a speed runner and I dont intend to be. I watched this video for nostalgia purposes and absolute love your dialog and game play. This game was a big part of my childhood, and you painted it in such a beautiful way. Thank you.

Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it. Link to the Past was a big part of my childhood as well, and the reason I started speedrunning it was to satisfy my nostalgia :)

@Fruitbats you have the vocal tone of a true teacher. It really feels like you are more invested in others being able to learn rather than your own ego. The video is appreciated and so are you.

I doubt you’ll read this but thank you this info has been so valuable to me. I’m learning to do my first Zelda speed run from you.
