I’ve read the books and in all honesty, the production quality for both of the PJ films are insane but the only problem i have with it is the amount of moments omitted that could explain certain interactions and relationships going on between the characters. The cast may not be of the same age as in the books but they did great in terms of their acting performance! It’s just that the casting could have been done meticulously by staying loyal with the book☺️

I understand what this scene was trying to go for; Percy could be the victor but he does the right thing, Spider-man style. But it's not done very well and honestly kinda stupid, especially given that he was an inch away from winning, and if he won the game would've stopped anyway.
Bro still had a ledge to climb. In that time, lil bro would've been seriously injured. He put averting a crisis above being a victor. Stop or no, saving a life in the moment of need instead of when and how it's convenient is always the better thing to do

In the same amount of time it took him to back flip down, and pull lil bro up, he could've grabbed the trophy and stopped the mechanism anyway. Not to mention, they're all demigods. Lil bro would've been fine. It's a summer camp after all. It's poor writing.
What always gets me is the thing stops as soon as clarrise pulls the trophy out so why didn’t Percy just win the thing therefore helping the guy quicker than getting back down to him.
The movie might be awful but i like the song choice for this scene. These movies had potential to be good, but it squandered over how badly they butchered the plot and characters.
