Man, Percy Jackson never had been able to manipulate that volume of water on a whim like that in the books. Freakin' neat.
I don’t think he was ever around that much water a lot times in the books, especially in book 4 with the labyrinth, heck he ended up in a volcano. The book mostly focused on his sword skills and showing feats other demigods couldn’t have pulled off due to his child of one of the big three status. One scene I would’ve loved to have seen in live-action is the confrontation between Thalia and Percy during the capture the flag game in book 3. If I’m not mistaken he controlled the whole lake.

@@adarshkamoda9183 in book 1 he soloed the minatour whereas a team of demigods would’ve been needed, plus in the books he actually jumps on its head and rips one of his horns off. In book 4 he caused an earthquake that awakened and released Typhoon. And thanks to being a son of Poseidon he survived being practically covered in lava. He fought and survived against Kronos ( In Luke’s body), Ares, and Hyperion.

However, the only time I can think of that he controlled water anywhere close to the scale we saw in the movie was in Blood of Olympus when he was working to keep the Argo II from sinking in a storm, and even then it took all his concentration.
