  • Using this month of April and autism awareness month to share some of my more powerful moments over the past few years. This one still gets me.
And also, we have come so far. :-)

When I subbed at a school as a Sub Para I was always with the special needs kids. Believe me no one ever said anything like that at our schools. I also was a Head Cook at a middle school for 21 years and we were expected to treat everyone the same. I feel horrible that that is happening today it’s like the Middle Ages.

So sad I would hate to know my Daughter was not being talked to . My Daughter was 7 she was apprehended by many kids that loved her and wanted her at school all the time . Girl come up to my nonverbal daughter and say Hi and hug her . Just can’t imagine and now she in Middle school . I always remember that sweet girl that loved my daughter.

That is so sad, it’s the sort of thing I associate with years ago I’m 59 next birthday and it’s the sort of uninformed thing we were told in 1970 . I’d have expected much more knowledge from a teacher .

Did I call you the school and ask why that happened?
