    • @jasonmunson8295
      @jasonmunson8295 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@rodrigocruz8548depends on what you have right now. If you have a 3nm belt driven wheel and you move to an 8nm direct drive wheel base. It’s a night and day difference. Direct drive as a concept is already offers many advantages over belt driven even when the torque figures are the same. Silent operation, faster response time, more accurate feedback, more subtle vibrations and movements in the wheel and silent operation are a few key points.
      Increasing the torque figures then gives the added benefit of more immersion, so running over rumble strips or curbs feels very strong or getting into a crash can feel very violent especially at higher torque figures. The high holding torque also helps simulate cars with no power steering in real life and snaps of oversteer feels more violent.
      Overall, upgrading to direct drive provides a huge increase in immersion and detail and higher torque figures will amplify that feeling.
      If you pair that with a set of pedals with vibration motors in them such as the v3 Fanatec pedals, it really helps you feel the car and understand if you are locking up, wheel spinning, under steering or oversteering. The vibration pedals are kinda like a cheat code especially😊 in Iracing. But most games don’t support them

    The one thing I had to get used to going over to dd was that the ffb feels more rubbery due to the magnetic forces. I sometimes still miss my cswv2.5 just for that feel idk how to explain it. But yeah I do love dd wheels the power is insane and I guess you can say the ffb is smoother more refined but again more rubbery even without dampening.

    • @TechyGondal
      @TechyGondal  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You are right.. i never thought of it before.. the force feedback from Logitech was sharp. On DD, it is smooth and less sharp.
      Probably more expensive direct drive (higher power wheels) would behave more sharp..

    • @reviewforthetube6485
      @reviewforthetube6485 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      @TechyGondal yesh nobody ever talks about it. They act like dd has the most sharp ffb ever and it doesn't lol. It's alot of feeling and alot of effects but it's a softer feel a more rubber feel. Which tbh some could consider dampening which is why peoppe say to run dd wheels with as little dampening as possible because it isn't needed. It's magnetic pull so that won't feel the same as a hard motor with a belt or gears. It's gonns feel a bit more spongy due to it being force crested by something else like magnets. But yes it's very good, very strong and tons of details. Just as much as the older belt and gear stuff it's just the vibrations and the noises and the sharp feeling would add to that and make yoy seem like it had even more detail then was actually there.
      People don't like hearing that dd has a softer feel or more rubbery or spongy feel but it absolutely does. It's better because of the constant forces and being smoother and still having Said detail but dd wheels have been way to overhyped for way to long. This coning from a dd user who loves dd.
      But I will say it mskes it feel very polished and clean which is awesome. The heavier dd wheels imo people day oh its about the detail. Yeah sure but reslly it's about that control always having a constant force telling you where you are at. People say power doesn't matter but after using stronger ones you realize dd was made to be stronger it helps you know where the car is and when you are on the edge of grip. Dd wheels shouldn't go light they should be very tight with heavy center feel. Where you are moving the car not the wheel being loose and moving the car.

    • @FirssenSimracing
      @FirssenSimracing 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That's why smal motor DD is just marketing bullshit. Big motor DDs (~20Nm) doesn't have that rubbery feeling.
      Advertise wheelbases based on niutometers are the worst thing... People gona say: "I don't need 25Nm" but fidelity, dynamic range, smoothness and response will be a lot better.

    • @reviewforthetube6485
      @reviewforthetube6485 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @FirssenSimracing I mean all dd wheels have a slogjtly rubbery feeling due to it being magnets the magnetic pull has that but springy no I agree. Like a rubber spring yeah they don't sll feel that way. Instead the 20nm bases utilize the power to snap it back instead of filters to add a spring snap.

    • @reviewforthetube6485
      @reviewforthetube6485 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      @FirssenSimracing I now own 2 wheelbases a 15mm dd+ and I just got the simagic ultimate. It's completely changed my experience with dd. The ultimate is absolutely incredible. Buttery smooth. Super fast and responsive and has such a nice floaty feel. The issue with the dd+ is the internal dampening snd inirtia feel and they somehow still mske it feel springy. The simagic doesn't feel that way. Its so so so so nice. It reminds me of simucube pro2 just like laurence and so many others said. If I had the extra 800 for the wheel I would have gone simucube but wow this simagic is the best feeling base ive used. I went with the 23nm ultimate becausw I knew lower nm dd bases were the issue as you stated. Now that I get to feel powerful dd it makes sense why they started out making them so strong. Lower nm wheelbases def dont feel the same it's not even close. It's clear simucube when they started tested all of that and found the sweet spot was above 15nm.
      People don't get it it's not even sbout having more power. It's about the torque for the snap, the corrections and everything else. And good wheelbases you can actually reduce the dampening and inirtia on and they don't have it built in when off. So you can get that nice flowy feeling where you can actually feel the ffb and find that limit of grip and even push through it if you want to. Instead of just being stiff with fake power by utilizing extra inirtia which then makes it harder to fins the limit of grip and make corrections imo. I want looser flowy fast strong feeling bases. This is pure perfection!
