Hi I tried the G5, 16x6 MAS, 9300RPM on glow 5% nitro, 9300RPM on 98 gas 20:1 belray oil, awesome throttle response, but very hard to start without a starter and almost impossible to idle below 3500rpm, even it miss some some firing. Keeping the supply on the glow plug does help quite a bit on low RPM, managed to get about 2700rpm but not smooth running, missing some firing. I tried an OS6 plug, very hot, worked similar as G5 and was better at idling with supply on , i could get descent 2500/2700rpm and instant throttle response and not too many misfiring. Back to glow for now, start is so much easier on the first flip and very nice smooth idle at 2500rpm and landing idle at 2100rpm. For gaz, ignition would probably solve my issues. I noticed that on gas, it idle with the throttle between 1/3 and 1/2 open , where on glow it idle with throttle way bellow 1/4 opened, AFR playing its role here i guess. Glow high speed needle opened about 1.5turn, on gas 0.5 turn Glow low speed needle close to recommended 3/4 turn as per manual, on gas i had to screw that one in quite a bit.
I just converted my OS 120ax to spark ignition with your kit and it runs really good with omega 10% I’ve tested so far. I purposely bought this to be able to convert to gas though, could you tell the carburetor needle settings you adjusted too or did you stay around the stock settings?
