Retired teacher, here, I love shopping for school supplies! Do not buy pencils that are not name brand. They waste time sharpening and they often will not because the lead is not in the middle of the pencil.

A few years ago someone from my church bought some pencils from Poundland & they were total rubbish.
Volunteers: scout leaders, room volunteers, library assistants, Sunday school teachers, stock-up! I miss my kids being this age needing school supplies ; )

We use the "caddy" when camping. You can put your soap, shampoo, razor, shave cream, deodorant and quarters!! Boom!! All in 1 place to scoop up!!

Me either. My book covers were brown grocery bags that I could draw on..sometimes used the sunday funnies. I was happy if all my stuff fit in my locker. Just stacked the books up and was good to go. Maybe a small picture cut from tiger beat or 17. magazine

In the 80s we had pictures & stickers, friends made the mistake of making a 💩list?! & hanging in lockers, someone narced & they got detention?!🤦♀️crazy how much worse things are now with little, to no repercussion🤷♀️😕

As someone who has worked at both, most of the time it is a better buy at Walmart. You are literally paying more for their name. They 90% of their school supplies are the same

I find that I like Target better for non toxic cleaning supplies. But mostly I shop at Walmart.

When my girls were in school I would get the next year's list and buy what they needed at the end of the year when everything was on sale.

I'm a teacher as well. Ticonderoga IS the best brand of pencils. Every other brand breaks like crazy.

Yes! I'm an artist and have problems with my dominant hand, and the Ticonderoga pencils are the ones I use the most. The others are either too thin or break too easily...

Great! Thanks for doing this one! Another thing that is great for homeschool moms at the dollar tree is workbooks! They have math timed tests (standardized) and many other neat workbooks that are far more expensive in other places. They also have a morning starters book that just has a short section each day to get child’s brain engaged. They have an awesome school room decor area as well!
I found those new containers at Walmart with the wood grain lid! Super cute, functional, and a deal. Thanks for sharing the deals between the two stores.

I have used both crayola and crazy art brand and I usually choose crayola because of how smooth they write and the color is so much more vivid.

That Swiss Army backpack lasts forever! We bought one at Sam's Club for my daughter. She carried it thru 2 or 3 years of high school and 4 years of college and still uses it at 31 years old.

Swiss Army backpacks were our best find too! Better than Lands End or any other brand we tried. Held up through high school and college and beyond!

I agree! I bought one for my granddaughter! It lasted through middle school and beyond! I highly recommend this brand. It cost a little more money upfront but it was worth it!

Each Teacher, Principal, and Educational Aid ( as well as our board of education )in our area brings in pencils,pens,work books etc for the children who can't afford them. We don't have Dollar Trees in my area, but we have Dollarama which is pretty much the same thing so it's pretty easy to help those who do not have the means to help themselves. My kid is entering 8th grade and is in an “emo” phase so I can’t pick out school supplies with fun patterns anymore, but I’ll still watch everything you upload!

@@marlenek3412 someone who isn’t quite goth but is into lots of basics and dark colors. Someone really sensitive or angsty (this is my tween right now as they are starting to go through puberty). For whatever reason, being “emo”, for some kids, is like a badge of honor too. I don’t know, I’m trying to figure it out as I go along!

I LOVE back to school season as a homeschool mom. I love getting the school room ready, making lists and thinking about all the fun activities to come in the fall. This year when I cleaned and organized the school room I found we really have all the supplies we needed for the new year. Not going to lie, I was slightly disappointed at missing out on back to school shopping! Guess I'll have to spend the $ on redecorating the school room ☺.

Although the decorating lockers maybe cute it is a pain in the butt to the school custodians that have to scrape all that stickiness off the inside from all the do dads, unless you have a student who actually cleans it out before the end of the school year
Oh No! That should be announced at school. My senior year of H.S. , I was editor of the yearbook. We dedicated the yearbook to the custodial staff, our behind the scenes, keepers of the wisdom. PLUS our school was pristine!! They were our people-♥️

I, too, use a month view and daily to-do lists as my primary, as well as daily journaling. I did get a planner with week view in addition because I need to set some short-term goals to get more done on a weekly basis. Love all the info in this video.
