I can explain the whole leaf out of someones book thing. Its not referring to an actual leaf, but rather a leaf (or sheet) of paper, and to take a leaf out of someone's book means to take the allegorical book of their way of doing things, their own instruction manual, and to take a leaf out of someones book is to take a leaf or a specific portion out of someones allegorical instruction manual, and use it for yourself, to do stuff the way they would do it, as you 2 would be following the same instructions, now naturally you only want to copy a portion of them, not be a carbon copy, which is why you only take 1 leaf, not the entire book. Let me just say this is one of the most questionable deaths in JoJo. Like, how tf did that snake get to the train station by the same time as the train? I may not be an expert, but I’m pretty sure trains are supposed to go a lot faster than snakes. The snake was created on a side of the road motel or something by Giorno - definitely not within sight of the train station. How many miles from that side of the road to the train station? And you’re telling me the snake covered all those miles within the same time it took the train to get there? The train would have had to be coming from several countries away in order to give the snake enough time to cover such a distance. I love JoJo’s crazy Stand powers and wacky fights, but I just can’t understand/justify this. Like how? Did Giorno also summon a personal mini jet plane to transport the snake to the station in so little time? Did he somehow create a snake capable of traveling at speeds of over 100mph? There doesn’t seem to be any possible sort of explanation. So, in conclusion, Melone’s death makes no sense and should not be canon, thank you for coming to my ted talk.
What's the world map? I think snake traveled back to the train station from where the gangsters already left. Killers are pursuing them, so the train was moving towards the snake, not away from it. Or you're implying that killers were running away? Their stands need to shorten far distances too, you know.

To be fair. Melone went out on the easiest way compared to his fellow La Squadra partners... Formaggio was lit on fire and was shot to death by Aerosmith. Illuso was beaten to death by a pathogen-ridden stand all while suffering the effects of a deadly skin-eating virus. Pesci was slaughtered by Sticky Fingers' zippers. Prosciutto was ran over by a train's rails and the last thing he saw was his brother, who he had trusted Bucciarati's defeat in, getting killed in front of his eyes. Ghiaccio had his neck impaled by an exposed pointy part of a pole and was kicked repeatedely into it until he died. And Risotto was shot by Aerosmith's barrage of bullets TWICE all the while getting humiliated by Diavolo.
