    Best innovation for easier making bolts in 3D and decrease headache than making it manually.. Thank you !

    There was a newer or different Version which allowed to change the bold in the object buttons. THis was much more comfortable and also did take a scene scale into account. I wonder why the old one was ported?

    • @DanielOakfield
      @DanielOakfield  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I believe probably it's not compatible with 2.8? Will post an update in case anything new happens! Thanks for the heads up!

    • @blenderbuch

      I just learned that this was a fork of the original which had some more improvements and error corrections. To bad they ported the original. But maye the oroginal dev was not active anymore.

    Thank you for this video. How do I make a nut to fit the bolt. I tried using the nut feature in Bolt factory. I used the same customised measurements I used for the bolt. When I print it though the nut is too small. Should I be doing something different?

    • @DanielOakfield
      @DanielOakfield  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Firstly, are you applying the scale after you edit your meshes?
      Secondly, for 3D printing is suggested not to print the thread, usually you print a smaller bore and with a threaded bolt you carve the nut, this is because of the lack of precision working with plastic materials, but if you want to do it, I suggest going a 5% larger for any connecting part, again because the results may vary. Unless you are printing with a different material or going for mould injection or laser printing... tell me more detail about it :)

    • @aysiful
      @aysiful 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@DanielOakfield Thank you for getting back to me. I tried scaling both before and after editing the meshes. I'll try changing the connector measurements. If this does not work then I will have to use another printing method. Thanks.

    • @aysiful
      @aysiful 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@DanielOakfield I tried two methods and they both worked. The first one was to increase by 5% and create the connector. Second Method - I enlarged the bolt by 5% and used the bool tool and made a hole through a cube. The second method worked better. I'm not sure if it is my printer but for my project, I'll stay with the 5% increase and bool tool. Thank you for your help.
