Should be an option to choose either or. Those crappy plastic legs that come with them arnt that hard to add in. I was limiting my TV search so much because I couldn’t find a center stand and my TV needs to be at a corner for viewing on my dresser...
first video i found when looking up how to mount my tv to a universal stand. thank you lol if you have an older, heavier tv find a base that 1. fits the size of your tv and 2. can hold the weight of your tv. check the back of your tv for the model number/serial number and look up the manual, it's bound to be online somewhere. there you can find what your tv weighs, then buy a stand that holds more than that.
I hate these (I call them feet) instead of the former standard TV base or pedestal stands that were always used until recent years. And if it swivels, that's even better! My very first large flat screen TV was a LG 42" that swiveled on a pedestal stand back in 2005 when they were relatively new on the market and grossly over-priced, and when many of the technical kinks and electronic quirks hadn't been worked out yet. Now that the technology is 100% better and pricing has improved they decided to add cheap feet to the equation. I'm soooo glad to find that those HORRIBLE FEET can be replaced with what used to be a very good standard feature (a pedestal stand) and they give you the option to get back to...a pedestal-stand!!! Thank you a million! I'll have to get my son to do it (assemble my pedestal TV stand mount). Hate those legs!
Nice video. But my TV (Roku 40") does not seem to have enough places for the screws on the back. How can i get help to see whether it will work. No point in doing the whole base if teh last step cannot be done. and there is nowhere to call or to chat with.
sorry i didnt clarify , MyTV as well as my center speaker sit on my TV stand. and my center speaker is in the way of the bottom half of the TV. I was asking if I bought this kit would I get enough clearance so my speaker wasn't hindering my view. my speaker is 8 inches high and my TV is 55 inches. thanks for the link I'll go check it out.
+Matt Garris Try all repairs and troubleshooting at your own risk. Yeah, I would check the measurements listed on the product pages for the stands and then measure the height of your TV with the bezel to compare. Thanks! www.shopjimmy.com
How did you put the holes in the back of the TV itself? And if your using existing holes in the TV would you need plugs to fill them so you can screw the rail into them? Thanks..
So, you screw the two vertical brackets on back of the TV, and then you simply rest the TV on the two horizontal brackets attached to the base? The two support screws don't actually attach the vertical brackets to the horizontal ones? My concern is, isn't that a little unsafe? What happens if someone bumps into the desk it's on. Couldn't the TV potentially fall off the stand?
How much space is there below the screen, for say, a 46" LCD? We want to raise our TV a bit above the soundbar, because it interferes with the TV's IR receiver.
Dan Notov I recommend going to the listing page found here: www.shopjimmy.com/universal-tv-stand-base-wall-mount-for-37-55-flat-screen-tvs-blank.htm You can compare the dimensions of your TV wit the dimensions of the stand. Thanks and please let us know if you have any further questions! www.shopjimmy.com
Can anyone tell me if the back of TVs are the same as far as mounting the bracket. I have a visit 40" an it doesn't look like the one in this video. But I need this stand desperately.

@@reneebrunson1451 thanks for the help. I was trying to find a stand that was tall enough for my center channel speaker to fit under the TV. But I ended up building a shelf I instead.
I was searching for floor stands and keep on getting when searching table stands or even wall stands.. is a floor stand for home use such a novelty in these days??
My TV looks different at the back!! I bought the stand and I'm stuck half way through building it, I don't know where to put those parts at the back, they don't fit anywhere 😡
I just want to know how long the M6 screws need to be for my TV to be attached to the brackets :( The bestbuy online parts store I ordered the universal stand from couldn't even tell me!.......... And I have their brand of TV too!! >:(

My stand doesnt have a mount, Iplanning to buy this base.. But my tv is 49inch, Im afraid that my tv falls down, Does Anyone have tryed this base?? the bottom part is glass, does it really support that much??
Good video. Can’t stand those billionaire tv companies that cheapened TVs by adding those cheap ugly plastic legs so companies can make more money by making us buy the stand.
My thoughts exactly probably would adjust the carburettor to increase air intake with a ball pein hammer looks like a simple 10mm wrench would do the trick. can't believe they would actually show someone using the wrong tool to build something.
Thanks, I hate waiting for others to do stuff on their schedule. So this grandma found your vlog & put my own tabletop stand together. 👍🏽👍🏽❤💞💕
Am going to use this video to do my own if I can't get no one to do it
Thanks so much! Was lost until your video. Now I'm sittin' pretty watching TV on my new stand!
Really neat. I hate current HDTVs that have little corner stands that are far apart, instead of a center base stand.
IMDRanged I know it's so annoying
IMDRanged me to
I think we all do. I'm buying this stand to take care problem. ShopJimmy good company.
yeah, idk why they do that...

I spend an hour screwing in the safety screws the wrong way -__- this video was very helpful
Any suggestions on how to add a stand when the tv isn't flat? The thicker section of the tv is at the base of the television.

This was informative. I was puzzled with one aspect of mine and your demonstration cleared it up for me.

HOW do those odd looking sound bar mounts work with a Solo 5 and an LED 32" set?
How did you put the holes in the back of the TV itself? And if your using existing holes in the TV would you need plugs to fill them so you can screw the rail into them? Thanks..
Gosh I hate ppl!! Who cares what tools were used... it got the job done!! Loved your video, this was extremely helpful for ME!
Thanks for putting this together. It is helpful just to watch it done so one has the mental picture for when they do it.

kmd subs just got one today. I fucking saw it wobble abit. Still has me shook.
It's the same way on a wall mount. It just hooks over the bars and then the screw screws up and keeps it from coming off. Very safe.
Thanks. Best damned video on this subject. Because of great video, I am going to buy from you and reward you for this help.
I have a 32" Vizio and a Bose Solo 5. Can I use those weird soundbar mounts with the Vizio and that stand?

I have a 55 inch curved Samsung tv. Will this work on that? Can someone pls respond.
Did it work?
This for any tv
My TV has nothing at back , so how to screw the bracket on it ?
The tv stand should have brackets to attach to the tv, if not your out of luck if tv doesn’t have screw holes 🤓
I have an old flat TV. It's a little heavy though. Is there a weight limit for that mount?
okay, thanks for the quick response
