The ceiling in the basement where I train is too low for overhead presses with a regular bar. Because the plates are so much closer to the ground, this bar was the answer.

My favorite speciality bar by far. It reminds me of a trap bar in how easy it is to balance over the mid foot. The first time I used one, no one told me it was a gaint camber and the bar was 85lbs not 45lbs, an ignorance filled PR that day.

Could be good if you want to do standing OHP and you’re taller in a room with an 8 foot ceiling.

Thank you for the strongman pressing part of the video . We use a super yoke to get a similar effect, but now I can show this video to our gym owners, and try and persuade them a Chambered bar is a good investment, as well as an awesome bar for squatting .

One of the things I like to do is use less weight and push the camber forward while maintaining lat tightness. The higher the weight, the less forward it moves, but at lower weights it's a front squat that can be 4-5 inches in front of me; however, I noticed a small carry over with my bench. Not sure if it's the isometric-style press when actively pushing forward, or the mental connection/practice of keeping back tightness while pressing.

This bar will kick your ass, especially if you don't know what to expect! The OHP is very difficult and it's also very hard to get off the box in a squat.

Of you really have jacked up shoulders, like me, get the spider bar version, no shoulder stress whatsoever! I actually had both and would up selling the regular version since using it still.hurt my shoulders. I sucks being a "Washed up Meathead."

So in theory, this will boost any straight bar lifts using the cambered bar in place of a straight bar?

I have the elitefts cambered bar. Nate did a great video for squatting. I use it for ohp. Gm , benching and zerchers off the floor. Great bar

This is primarily the bar I use. It is 1:1 for me in terms of straight bar weight but it’s comfortability makes it better for reps

If it's more unstable, does this mean you won't be able to lift what you can lift with a standard bar? Or do you adapt over time?

I do the press with my ssb bar is almost the same effect but with that bar i think you can do some harder version of zercher squats and deadlifts if you stand in a box or in something with more height from the ground i think you can do seal rows to💪😉

In your opinion, how does this bar’s benefits compare to an SSB? If we can only buy one specialty bar for squats- which one would you say is best for the average lifter?

    • @Dr_Footbrake

SSB. Mostly cos if you fuck up one of your UL you can keep squatting.

@@Dr_Footbrake oh gotcha. ya i hear you, my shoulder and elbow hurts a lot during low bar. but the cambered bar would still help to alleviate shoulder pain I'm guessing. maybe not as much as SSB. maybe a cambered SSB is the answer

That bar sucks, in a good way lol. Definitely kicked my rear end the first time I used it. On a side note, seeing that my gym had a cambered bar and a SS bar among other things, was the catalyst for me joining the gym I go to.

Is this similar to camber attachments? I bought those and almost never use them because its. Too unstable since you cant get your hands on it, I figure the real camber bar is more workable.

One would think that if you marketed a "cambered" bar, and actually made a video about the benefits of having a "camber", that you'd learn how to pronounce "camber" correctly. This is almost as cringe as when TH-camrs or firearms manufacturers pronounce "ambidextrous" "am-bee-dex-tree-ous".
