Wow that looks so much better than the normal breakout box. I need to get one of these!
Thanks for the video!! I run a Avast Marine Breakout box since they are so much better than the Apex ones!!
Thank you so much for this! I'm in the exact same position so I will be picking this up for sure!
Your most welcome.. you will love it!
Great review Dev, I have this BOB and love it!!
Excellent to hear! Soooo much nicer to use :)
This thing was hard for me to put together, I totally messed this thing up but I’m glad it was only a $26 loss….. I’m buying a new one fully assembled
Great DIY. I does not like Apex Breakout box but I found a solution for it. That Avast box is wave better.
you could wire in a bus bar or terminal block for the grounds with the apex one but the Avast one is much cleaner!
Yes Avast is the best.
Looks far easier to use.. Nice work
Much easier! And cleaner then rigging up bus bars or marettes
At first I did t understand what you were doing but got it at the end The easier way is to get a crimp and crimp the grounds and pig tail it out coast $2.00 but I like the build you seem like a guy who loves to tinker around lol I'm lol what too
not as pretty but would do the job.. only issue is if you want to change it after you crimp it!
ReefDudes yea I think the reason Apex went with that type of terminal block is it's a higher end lol if you call it that it works a lot better because if you take out one of the plugs and look at the bottom it is beveled so the bottom kind of looks like the bottom of a soda can it grabs that wire and holds it really good compared to a push and hold type we're the wire has a higher chance of being pulled out I worked with both a lot and the apex terminal block is much better but then again I like to build stuff so lol
Hopefully Neptune reads this and add on a few more ground terminals :)
ReefDudes you know what yea I hope they do I was just looking this up online and there are a lot of people trying to DIY something for this ground terminal you would think they would try and solve this problem
Inappropriate Reefer brought me :D
+Snow woooo. He's is a great guy! Welcome to the channel Snow!
Did you get a bus bar with your kit? Mine did not come with one
newreefer92 yes I did
Man you know you here early when the vid ain't even HD yet lol
hahah Freshly uploaded.. I normally upload the day before but got click happy and decided to release it into the wild early today :) Your on it Nado!
you didn't say what a breakout box is for
+Carey Edwards it lets you connect flair switches and buttons to a Neptune apex controller to interface physical devices and sensors
ReefDudes I still don't understand what a breakout box does, can you show us?
Okay. I'll make a vid on some of the uses :)
Why do you have a Rambo knife vs a box cutter lol 😂
Its my package opener! No package stands a chance against this baby :)
People who are color blind should probably order the complete kit. Not the DIY kit....
Very good point I never considered!
Neat idea, BUT... an overpriced solution to a simple problem. Go buy an $8 common busbar, run a wire from the breakout box ground to the busbar, and now you have multiple ground terminals....
Frank W if you already have the apex one then yep! But if you don’t have one it’s another option!
