I have been hunting elk 42 years in central co, i am also an EMT; everything here was solid. One add on i have 3 piece trekking pole with a V shooting rest i mounted in it. I shot a giant off it last year. Owned 15 stoves- jet boil. In denali and Norway they use a glock 10mm with double tab FMJ. Ammo matters.
Holy crap that must weigh a ton. I know you're in good shape but imagine how much faster you could be if you had a sandwich bag for first aid kit, 1 water filter (and drops as backup), 1 good knife, 1 windicator....use TP/wipes for flagging tape....etc.
Yea too much stuff for a day pack hunt. No reason for 3 RF batteries. That's just one of several items I am sure won't be hauled around for too many hunts. remember we're talking a "day" hunt, not over night or 2 or 3 dayers. We all started like this but after years of refinement narrowed this down tremendously.
