It’s actually nice how Jinx manages to be closer to Vander than even Vi at the end. Vi really only retains her vision of Vander’s strength and believed that’s what kept them all together. Even as she got older it’s all she really has to remember him. Just a mission to protect the family. But she has no other means than brute force. But Vander’s strength was always more than muscle and form, he knew how to be there for people and how to be reliable to them. And that’s something Jinx manages to be for Isha, on top of Silco’s estranged sympathy and compassion. Jinx might be more unstable, but she actually ends up being more emotionally mature than Vi. And that’s a fact thrust in Vi’s face when she sees how Jinx and Isha treat each other. In their despair, Vi chose to indulge in aimless fighting and drinking, and in her lowest that day she struck the person she was supposed to protect and abandoned her when she needed her most. But Jinx chooses to be sympathetic and caring to someone like her, be there for her, to make her smile and laugh, and to protect her. To create a family. Vi only realizes how she failed Powder and what she lacked when she sees Jinx and Isha. She sees what she should’ve done and what they could’ve become. It’s only after everything, when Jinx is brought to her absolute lowest, having lost everything a third time, does Vi try to be more than an older sister doing her duty, she tries to be genuinely there for Jinx than a remnant of the past long gone; but by then it’s already too late.
They didn’t became Vander and Silco. Vander was a leader that upheld peace between Topside and the Underground while Vi was pretty much a nobody apart from her on again off again role as an Enforcer. Felicia, Vander, and the girls. He lost them all because of one bad choice. He had no one to love, a man with nothing left to lose. If Vander had reached out, Silco would have known love again. Silco would have had something to loose, and wouldn't have gone to war. Instead, Silco didn't know love until Jinx. He realized- this is Felicia's daughter, Vander is dead, she just lost everyone. She lost everyone because of one bad choice, just like he did. Silco felt like he had to shield her from that fate. Then Topside wanted him to hand over Jinx. Silco could not bring himself to let Topside kill another loved one. He refused. Because in that moment, he finally realized why Vander lost his head, why Vander refused to fight. Ngl I thought this'd be a meme video where it went from the scene of Silco saying he's bozo 1 cutting straight to the scene where Vander is choking him underwater
Season 2 was sorely missing more backstory for the fallout between Silco & Vander. Wish they focused on the more intimate relationships/conflicts (ex. Piltover & Zaun, Vi & Jinx, Silco & Vander) that were the heart of Season 1, rather than side stories/characters like Black Rose, Warwick, or even Isha. Thanks for this simple but powerful edit! Silco's words to Powder perfectly sync with the quieting music at 1:08.
So we all know that Vander is Vi and Silco is Jinx, but did anyone notice that Ekko was Felicia? Both were the middle ground of the two sides and used both tactics to make it safer for their loved ones(Felicia was willing to fight and build a safe haven but died before she got the chance/Ekko and the Firelights fight against gangs daily but created the Underground for the abandoned children).
I think Vi's and Jinx's Felicia is Vander. Vander was someone both Vi and Jinx loved, and Jinx got him killed, causing a rift between Vi and Jinx. This parallels with Vander and Silco loving Felicia and Silco getting her killed
"Humanity, our very essence, is inescapable. Our emotions, rage, compassion, hate. Two sides of the same coin, intractably bound. That which inspires us to our greatest good is also the cause of our greatest evil.”
When Vander said, “When she died, I lost my head”, I think that was his inner Warwick came out. In a way, his own inner beast created Silco, which I think he knew what he was when they were talking in the factory together alone
I think the character that reveals why Silco did what he did was actually Huck, the glasses fellow who Vander stood up for, got hooked on shimmer, and the was healed/evolved by Victor. Silco talks about when Vander nearly drowned him, it was the last time he felt powerless. I think that what happened is that Silco was afraid, and in his fear he acted violently. We know him to be a slight and more thoughtful guy, coming face to face with the Enforcers of Piltover. Like Huck says, he wanted to feel what it's like to be strong.
In a way I’d say you’re not wrong but most importantly as he said himself he realized while being drowned that „to defeat a superior enemy you must stop at nothing, you must become what they fear.“ He realized when fighting Vander, a (physically) superior adversary (just like the Topsiders) had to be defeated by any means necessary even in ways that evoke fear (in vanders case a knife, in Piltovers case Fishbones-Hextech/Chemtech). From his perspective he did not really chose to do what he does to feel powerful but rather to defeat a (numerically/technologically) superior enemy like the Piltover occupation. He essentially became a Guerilla fighting a state that uses their population as cheap, disposable Labour, uses it as the location for the majority of industry as to not pollute their own neighborhoods and essentially runs an Apartheidstate with Zaunites as second class citizens. In America you’d call him a Terrorist but in most parts of the world he would be considered a freedom fighter
Theorists: Vander may have tried killing Silco due to differences in how to lead in revolting against Piltover! Or maybe Vander wanted power and that's where Silco got his power knowledge from! Or maybe Silco wanted power and Vander was afraid! Vander: Nah I tried killing him because of a girl
The two don't gotta be mutually exclusive. There's a chance he went along with Silvo's plan despite not being fully on board, instead wanting to try a more peaceful solution, and Felicia dying was just the tipping point. Maybe Silco wanted to keep doing things his way in a "or else her death meant nothing" kinda way while Vander saw it as him being dangerous.
@@elisonholace4033 this - Silco is clearly a leader and maybe they had a conversation, found themselves at odds and Vander realized it was thousands of people at stake (and clearly he was right as we see once Silco takes control)
@@zarlashtkhan3740 This is why I agree with what was said in another video, Zaun never would've seen true independence under either's leadership. Silco is to much of a radical who, while fighting for it, would get to many people killed in the quest for freedom. Vander meanwhile just wants things to be as peaceful as the situation allows to keep people safe, even if it means stopping the fight for Zaun.
@@elisonholace4033 I agree, while both their intentions were good ultimately the road to hell is paved with good intentions. the start of Arcane pretty much shows us Vanders leadership, theres a huge class difference, there is anger resentment and a desire for better life and Piltover seems more like an occupational force - while under Silco the undercity is more so dangerous and a threat its good storytelling because this is actually a very common outcome in real life as well with countries that face foreign involvement or occupational forces.
this show was fucking raw. He held back 0 of its punches. I dare say this is the best animated show to date. And i have never played the game or give 2 fucks to try.
The two main themes of Arcane are "What could've been" and "Forgiveness". Most of the problems of season 1 came from the fact that Silco and Vander couldn't forgive each other, losing the chance to reform Zaun peacefully and instead turning it into a crime ridden drug infested den. And the second season was dominated by Piltover punishing the entirety of Zaun for Jinx crime and only saved when they gave up on the Vendetta to fight Nox which only got a in way because the Piltovers let them in as hired help.
Brothers fight for Zaun but never knew what was it like to raise a child on their own. Beautiful story and this was a falling action. Amazing. No words
My headcanon is that after the accident that took Vi's life, Jinx and the boys were arrested and the only way that Vander could have saved them is if he and Silco finally made amends and brought their ideal Zaun to fruition without bloodshed with Piltover. Silco sharing the grief with Vander after he failed to protect one of Felicia's daughter might have made him realise this as well and thus pushed them both to the road of forgiveness and progress.
Even Vander makes mistakes in controlling his anger... meanwhile people are going all over Vi for getting mad at Powder for accidentally killing their Whole Family
Anyone saw the mistake in season 1? Sevika lost its left arm, yet when she was held by the bald big guy (the one that lost its jaw...3 times I think) her left arm is fine.
"Killing is a cycle, one that started long before Vander and me, and one that will continue long after the two of you, I think the cycle only ends when one of you finds the will the walk away"
This series turned me into a big League of legends fan I simply cannot get enough. I downloaded all the LOL apps on my phone bc I don’t got a PC. Also Skyrim online is the closest thing to LOL for me 😅😢
Yeah! Silco wanted everyone to turn against Vander and rally around him as Zauns leader and his violent approach instead, so he wanted everyone think that Vander took the kids and abandoned everyone in Zaun, so the kids had to disappear too. Cuz it wouldnt make sense if Vander "abandoned Zaun for his kids" but the kids were still there.
You know I have a big issue with this. Because silco was totally prepared to kill Vi and Jinx. Even brandishing a knife before jinx hugs him. That's his friend's kid. A woman he went to war with and he'd gut them?
I still don't get why Silco was willing to kill Vi and piwder, back when he kidnapped Vander. That would be like spitting on the memory of the woman he got killed.
Doesn't track. Doesn't fit with Silco that we see in Season 1 Ep 1-3. Vander tries to apologize and is told "You will die for the cause, but you won't fight for it". This scene is trash.
Same goes for people who think they HAD to have had feelings for Felicia and male/female friendships. Neither of them show any jealousy when she says she's pregnant, just caring. They were all bros together
This video doesn't really exaplain anything. It's the same information as in the netlix series. I guess Vander blamed Silco for not protecting Felicia?
Silco knowing Vi and Powder’s mother makes NO sense. He tries to kill both of them in episode 3 and only spares powder because he sees himself in her. Besides Silco wouldn’t of forgiven Vander after he tried to DROWN him because of some note
Silco knowing their mother does make sense especially since Silco and Vander were brothers blood or not. If one knew her the other did too. Second, you realize how long it wouldve been for Silco? He might noy have even recognized them till latee but by then his ideology changed drastically. Betrayal and rage eat you from the inside it wasn't until he saw Powder in the same position he was in did he feel sympathy and took her in and probably realized who she was. As for forgiving Vander? Silco let Vander's statue stay all that time...he even spoke to it when he finally understood Vander's reasonings. Would it have been enough? Probably not but it mightve helped things play out differently and led to possible healing.
@ S2 presents Silco and Vander as promising to improve Zaun for Vi.How could Silco not be close enough to Vi and powders Mom to not recognize the sisters. How could Vander and Silco not mention ANY of this in ep 3???
@ Silco still respected Vander despite hating him for a while and Vander was probably respected long after his death by large parts of zaun, that’s probably why Silco left his statue
Information is presented and the audience is expected to do all the lifting with our minds. This scene makes no sense. How would he not think that one of the 4 children with Vander are the woman's? Did she not share names? Silco was on the hook for raising and protecting those kids, same as Vander. Silco couldn't care less, it's not until he realizes he can manipulate powder that he considers not killing the kids.
@@metallichurchi dont think silco cared at that point lmao. his resentment towards vander boiled over to the point where revolution, no matter the cost, is the answer. Silco already lost his brother. He lost his dear friends. What’s a few more deaths to get to his Nation of Zaun?
Silco chose violence and is responsible for the results. Piltover had someone out there trying to TALK and there were people in Piltover that wanted better for the people of the undercity (Cait's mom being one of them). But when Silco and co attacked, it ended any real chance of working things out without violence for a long time. Maybe it wouldn't have worked out between Zaun and Piltover and violence was inevitable, but maybe it wasn't, we will never know. sm
This is all Vi's fault for not fucking dying in that heist. If only Jayce had kicked the door a bit harder and killed that pink haired menace, we could be in the happy timeline. Vi is truly the ultimate villain of Arcane.
Vander and Silco are in my opinion the best Dads and Father Figures in Animated and Media History. I keep thinking of that Loony Tunes meme of Daffy saying to his GF "I want to start a family with you", and she's all "What?". I see that with Silco saying that to Vander, after his experience of adopting and raising Jinx as his own daughter, coming to an understanding of what it meant for Vander raising Vi as his daughter.
And the sins of the fathers passed down to the daughters. Vi became vander and powder became silco, well sort of

I agree wholeheartedly
Wow I did not notice that at the end Sevika was being carried but makes sense, since that wound would’ve been fresh.
"Humanity, our very essence, is inescapable. Our emotions, rage, compassion, hate. Two sides of the same coin, intractably bound. That which inspires us to our greatest good is also the cause of our greatest evil.”
This edit is so good makes me wish it was actually in the show
Vander and silco 2 brothers
Went from helping each other
And working together to being enemies only to die tragic deaths😔
Great editing, it's simple, yes, but it enhances the message and emotions of the scenes.
this is a great edit.
Hearing this borderline victorious music with ep 3 aftermath is so odd but beautiful; Silco weaving himself back in this family again
When Vander said, “When she died, I lost my head”, I think that was his inner Warwick came out. In a way, his own inner beast created Silco, which I think he knew what he was when they were talking in the factory together alone
I love how vander in season 1 says we don't give in our own and in season 2 sevika says the same thing to smeech, glorious character evolution!
This show was on another level seriously
Love the detail of the hair on younger Silco. Looks like Jinx, but a different angle. Nice touch.
@@elisonholace4033 I agree, while both their intentions were good ultimately the road to hell is paved with good intentions. the start of Arcane pretty much shows us Vanders leadership, theres a huge class difference, there is anger resentment and a desire for better life and Piltover seems more like an occupational force - while under Silco the undercity is more so dangerous and a threat
its good storytelling because this is actually a very common outcome in real life as well with countries that face foreign involvement or occupational forces.
@@elisonholace4033 eko and sevika for the win!
this show was fucking raw. He held back 0 of its punches. I dare say this is the best animated show to date. And i have never played the game or give 2 fucks to try.
it's a great show but not the best animated show to date but it could be the best animated show you've watched to date
This is so good!!!
Season 2 broke me on so many levels... I cried for most of the last 3 episodes 😭
Amazing. No words
My chest actually hurts right now. The tears aren’t falling, but the last pillar holding up my mental stability is.
Crazy looking back to see Sevika was right there by Silko's side, when Powder was only a child
Anyone saw the mistake in season 1? Sevika lost its left arm, yet when she was held by the bald big guy (the one that lost its jaw...3 times I think) her left arm is fine.
Her left arm wasn't fine, i think. It looks like it was heavily burnt by the explosion and was probably amputated
@@tariyamori yes
@@tariyamoriin the scene of the explosion, when powder is floating, you can see how the arm dissapear and nothing left, desintegrating basically
I love this but the same time why do you have to make me cry again?
Love is powerful
Power of Words. pale in comparison to the results of violence. thanks arcane
"Killing is a cycle, one that started long before Vander and me, and one that will continue long after the two of you, I think the cycle only ends when one of you finds the will the walk away"
Oh, that's why he took care of Powder 😢
This series turned me into a big League of legends fan I simply cannot get enough. I downloaded all the LOL apps on my phone bc I don’t got a PC. Also Skyrim online is the closest thing to LOL for me 😅😢
It's funny how we find out in an alternate dimension that Vi was the real Jinx in the story.
One decided to continue in order to avenge them the other just to stop this madness. They fought in the heat of the moment as they were on fight mode.
Can someone explain to me why the hell did Silco want to kill Vi and Powder when they were little if he knew THEY WERE FELICIA'S KIDS??
Beautiful edit omg ❤️ Your username😭❤️
What could have been...
0:35
Dude was absolutely massacred
From the thumbnail I thought it'd be because he tried to claim the title of Bozo One
We SEE what could have been in episode 7.
They could have saved... everyone.
The thumbnail makes it seem like hid tried to kill him over a bowl of cereal
Where is that scene of silco throwing the molotov from?
Episode 5, 17:05 Warwick’s evil memories
they skimmed through this part way too fast, it was confusing to follow.
Maybe in the alternate universe where Heimer and Ekko was trapped for a while, Silco found his letter thats why he forgave vander.(ep 7 of arcane)
You know I have a big issue with this. Because silco was totally prepared to kill Vi and Jinx. Even brandishing a knife before jinx hugs him.
That's his friend's kid. A woman he went to war with and he'd gut them?
Wow! Never guessed that Vander wanted to be "Bozo 1" that much..
I still don't get why Silco was willing to kill Vi and piwder, back when he kidnapped Vander. That would be like spitting on the memory of the woman he got killed.
OH ! SILKO FOUND THE LETTER IN THE OTHER TIMELINE
OH MY GOD FORTICHE
Can someone explain how this letter could change everything?
Doesn't track. Doesn't fit with Silco that we see in Season 1 Ep 1-3. Vander tries to apologize and is told "You will die for the cause, but you won't fight for it". This scene is trash.
We know how they mother die but Vander was clearly older when he adopt the two girl.
Honestly people who think Vander and Silco are or could be a couple never had male friends and too much time in their lives.
Hm…but to whom? At that moment, there was no one to take revenge except Piltover.
How did you get thoses frames?
Even if he knew vi alive i think he won't kill her for nothing
How did Vander when he hit Silko he had no beard and when he took the girls he had a beard?
I wish they showed how Jinx found that place
As if that letter would’ve changed anything pffff
I dont understand
whos that 0:37
(No idea but) I think it might be Connel...? Their dad
shit...
Dude, relax. No one is to blame for what happened
That letter really could’ve changed everything
Vander and Silco are in my opinion the best Dads and Father Figures in Animated and Media History.
I keep thinking of that Loony Tunes meme of Daffy saying to his GF "I want to start a family with you", and she's all "What?". I see that with Silco saying that to Vander, after his experience of adopting and raising Jinx as his own daughter, coming to an understanding of what it meant for Vander raising Vi as his daughter.
