A rolling race would’ve been a more interesting race between these two cars as the diesel audi has similar power, more torque but is heavier👌🏻
Changing gear to late, boost is running out then you are changing gear. You need to find the top of boost and keep it boosted
absolutely correct. when the boost stops in a diesel, it literally has no torque in the top end. it's better to shift at 3000-3500 rpm in a turbo diesel
@@mikef1848 I'd say that it depends. My mapped e90 320d moves quite allright up to 4.1k. But all the TDI-s die at 3500 max if not fitted with a bigger turbo.
Unless it was a 3 litre Quattro it would never going to stand a chance

No it wouldn't I've owned a pd150 and an edition 35 will walk over a pd150
Stock for stock, not a chance. But in the theme of this video, a mapped pd150 would only sit at around 190ish bhp. You could _however_ fit a hybrid turbo and some other fancy bits for a fraction of the price of an ED35 and get it to 240+bhp. That'd be a different outcome.
@@baker6928 stage 2 an edition 35 and you will get 380bhp with similar torque figures as the pd if not more

My daily is a mk3 vrs diesel stage 1 and its best of both worlds, never going be really fast but it pulls very well and great fuel economy 😎
I launched a 3 door cosworth once and it was perfection. It was so fast I slide up the seat and my feet could not get to the clutch to change gears
Either way id prefer the audi , I've own a mk6 gti golf and a mk6 2.0 gt tdi golf , and always preferred the diesel 🤷♂️ I know I'm weird

You could go for a MK6 GTD 170 bhp...or a Leon FR/CR TDI 170 bhp...DPF/EGR delete and map either of them to around 225 bhp. Go for an 09/12 plate...They look just as good...practically identical mod-cons...and they will have oodles of torque...Go for one with a Sport-Mode if possible, and get a beefed-up diff to plant that torque down to the tarmac...and believe you/me...you'll stick with a MK6 GTI ED:35, even shoot off quicker....A Diff will eliminate those spins in first gear....
Won't even need a diff just uprate the front control arm bushes, much cheaper and makes a massive difference, you won't get any wheel hop

The Bosch 2L TDI in the Audi is a very nice underrated engine for reliablibility and performance - (6.95 isn't bad, never going to outperform the smaller & 5 year younger VW but if you want to go fast, ride a motorbike). My audi has over 250,000 miles, only problem I ever have is with the electronic handbrake on my car

Spinning the wheels steals your power. Wheel hop at the higher revs also slows you down.

We have ulez in Birmingham I had to buy a 2015 diesel
carvertical gives the entire REGISTERED HISTORY on the car , but most are not registered
Ofcourse it has to be registered to be on there. I thought that would be a taken but my mistake for not mentioning it, I'll be sure to in the next one 👍
To beat that GTI in a B7, you need the V8. That will beat the GTI. But only just. The RS4 will have it, but the S4 will have a similar 0-60 time to the GTI. All versions as manual gearbox.
My 170 a3 feels the same falls on it's arse not as fast as it should feel in my opinion and i have ram airfilter, dpf removed and coded off, bkd inlet, egr deleted, powerflow exhaust new map sensor, new n75, stock map tho at minute,
All of them hardware mods aren’t worth anything with stock software, in fact you’ll of lost power and torque, custom map it and it’ll make about 230hp 340ft lbs.
Diesels aren’t like petrols in this respect, add all them mods to a petrol and you’ll see some gains immediately even before mapping.

Something not right with the Audi, who mapped it? I would check to see what boost its making, also buy a dragy it measures loads of different acceleration times for you.
He did a video on it, some guy flashed it on a carpark..
Mapped tdi’s should pull hard and clean right the way through the rev range, this doesn’t and it’s probably down to a crap map..

Definitely a useless map on the Audi . Mine pulls like a train and definitely doesn't have any flat spots in any gear. You've been had with you're plug and play car park remap , sorry .

Iv got the dolphin grey audi a4 b7
2.0 T petrol standard with 220 bhp
Its quicker then the golf now remmaped to 260bhp x
The diesel engine is heavy and sluggish

Of course, Edi35 is faster, and that is because it is lighter and has more powerful engine. But that kind of measurement is not precise. Put those two cars one against other side by side and you would see the difference. Only one thing where that remapped diesel could be better than stock GTI is low speed punch, because of massive torque.
Unfortunately your in the UK and can't get American frame cars.
Maybe a silver cloud was built on a frame. UK 60s n 70s cars were all those small minis morrises maybe a peugeot or merk, you can't get a nice 1976 chevrolet caprice because their LHD..a 1979 cadillac with 7.0 liter rear wheel drive. That's what I drive, with only 29000km on it.

At 30mph in 4th gear that’s near idle the clutch will end up slipping 😂

@@insidebyte8561 I wouldn’t suggest booting a remapped diesel in 4th gear from 1,500rpm neither would the guy who remapped your car
It will lose if you do that, 30mph is 3rd gear all day or 2nd gear with high revs but then will lose time as need to change gear.
@@Mr330d i remapped it and i know my car and engine well enough, its 1.9 pd150 so it pulls nicely from 1500 and i don't bring the torque in to sharp, and tbh i dont flat foot it from 1500 that often, it's only when im logging tbh

Get a different map mate get a live map done. Your car is inconsistent because the map is causing high egt and iat situations which the ecu can and will pick up on and peg it back. Also highly recommend an upgraded fmic

Not trying to sound rude but 235hp out of a big turbo gti sounds like a slouch. My dads 2013 gti is around 350hp on the stock ko3. But the turbo is starting to go after about 60k miles on the car. It’s always been driven hard though
It's not tuned mate it's a standard Ed35. And 350 on a stock ko3? Never seen that before... Ko4 yes

Have the same car, just saloon, yours seems well slow 👀. Turbo pickup seems bad, especially In 3rd.
You should go for old old because old cars need to be saved and kept alive if it's got a plastic bumper cover Walk On By wait until you see a nice rail of metal shiny chromed that you can smash a beer bottle on then that's the car to buy I call them metal bumpers. The one with the plastic cover I call those one whack it's on a rollback. In the 1970s and American Car you could be in a crash pull the tire iron out of the boots and bend the fender away from the tire and drive it home. Because sometimes when two male drivers are in an accident and they both been drinking they don't call the police. They decide they're each going to fix their own car and they both help each other and get the bent fender away from the wheel so that each car can drive home that way they both don't end up in jail. Today's cars one whack it's on a rollback the car is wenched up on the rollback and the the driver is taking off to jail because they can't drive away Crumple zone it's completely destroyed. So always remember that save the old cars and they will save you. You don't want to spend thousands on qn attorney qnd still lose your driver's license and be riding on the covid bus or the monkey pox train....

You need to use a better 0 to 60 meter
Lost me at diesel...a petrol a4 b7 with a proper tune and some bolt=ons and automatic would make a run for the gti's money mate .

All you need is a pd130 with a hybrid turbo and map and gti is getting smoked
I've always modified every Audi and Volkswagen I owned but once I got my TDI Passat I lost immediate interest.

@@BWTV It's just sooo slow but great on fuel....the initial torque makes the right front tire loose grip very easily though. Just isn't worth modifying only for it to be maybe as fast as the gas powered versions here in America.
My mapped 1.6TDI a3 is quicker/as quick as that, I guess it is lighter..
That audi would beat it.. depends tyre pressure and also driver... you need to rev the diesel hard

Your spinning the tyres too much also revving it too much peak torque on a a diesel will be around 3-3500 rpm

Peak torque on TDIs is below 2K rpm in pretty much every 1.9, 2.0 etc. You will not see peak torque above 3500 unlese you're specifically tuning for it. As for the revving, some bigger turbos need them revs.
